I'd like to be able to batch edit tags in a group and have the same change done to those in my Library.
Explication: When I bookmark a tool I tend to omit the 'tool' tag and just submit it to my 'Online Tools' group
... and now I would like them to have the tags 'tool+online' for when I search in my library.
If I edit a bookmark in a group, I noticed it doesn't change those in my library. But maybe if it did, all bookmarks submitted by other people would also be copied to my library(?) So an option 'sync tags to my Library' would maybe be necessary? We could then easily save a bunch of bookmarks from groups.
Anyway, it would be nice to be able to select more bookmarks than the visible portion.
Just tried, but I still prefer the Diigolet. It's really fantastic, it adds a toolbar. It has all the features the extension has + 'highlight and sticky note' context-menu.
1 ) +hightlight w/o bookmarking 2 ) + hightlight + private sticky note 3 ) +bookmark set to private 4 ) +add more hightlight + 1 private note +1 note to diigo community 5 ) + hightlight + private note
NB: Each time I selected right-click 'highlight and stcky note'
If we all see the same thing, only the last highlight is visible on Diigo community not not the note. This means that all highlights done on a bookmark once shared is public (and sent to all shared groups I imagine(?))
When I add private notes after sharing a bookmark, I allways set the bookmark and notes to private... so only the notes are private but not the highlights.
That means each highlight needs privacy settings too.
This one is shared with Diigo Community. It's done using the Chrome extension, is hasn't got 'highlight and sticky note' so notes can only be put besides?
I still prefer the Diigolet.
Meta page it said "This link has been bookmarked by 2 people. It was first bookmarked on 25 Feb 2010, by someone privately."
I tried to bookmark it ... it's now public. Everybody see it?
But now that you've brought my attention to 'censor', I just noticed a bookmark that was set to private ... maybe because the title included 'naked' - but I could easily change it.
Agree - but I think it's not as simple as it may seem. It may cause problems for highlights and annotations. If that's the case, I prefer to lose the annotations and have URL editing. There could be a mention 'This link has been edited. All annotations have been deleted"
I know that when you highlight something on someone's else bookmarked page, it automatically save a bookmark in your library with no tags, so it's a user thing. But I think it may not be the case for group bookmarks - Read somewhere that one couldn't delete a group bookmark if other had hi-lighted it (?)
Would be nice if we had more information on how things worked... a visualisation of Diigo data. (can't even image how it would look like)
> >When somebody leaves a group, it stinks that all their bookmarks go with them. They DO!? o_O But any editing done in my library doesn't sync with those I've submitted to groups so I thought they become separated from the submitter, hence if he leaves the bookmarks should stay.
How about an 'Also remove bookmarks?' option for when banning someone?
> >Also, it would be nice if you could share bookmarks with a group without having to keep them in your own private collection. I don't agree. It'll become hard to recognise self-promoters (which is forbidden in groups). You could create a spacial tag to view your library without them.
My suggestions for groups: - A 'flag' button for all group members, so they can use to notify the moderator of suspicious submissions. - a 'bury/hide this bookmark' like in Google search results + "bury/hide all bookmarks from this person" buttons
PS: I manually wrapped this text because Diigo does not (Mac Chrome 4.0.295.0 dev)
There's a big misunderstanding about SOCIAL software - definition of 'social':
- characterised by friendly companionship or relations. (spamming is NOT friendly, it's rude and selfish)
