    They DO!? o_O
But any editing done in my library doesn't sync with those I've submitted to groups
so I thought they become separated from the submitter, hence if he leaves the bookmarks should stay.

How about an 'Also remove bookmarks?' option for when banning someone?

keep them in your own private collection.

I don't agree. It'll become hard to recognise self-promoters (which is forbidden in groups).
You could create a spacial tag to view your library without them.

    My suggestions for groups:
    - A 'flag' button for all group members, so they can use to notify the moderator of suspicious submissions.
    - a 'bury/hide this bookmark' like in Google search results + "bury/hide all bookmarks from this person" buttons

PS: I manually wrapped this text because Diigo does not (Mac Chrome 4.0.295.0 dev)

I was mistaken ... when somebody leaves a group, then their bookmarks stay in the group. However, when an account is deleted, the bookmarks disappear. I think. I may be mistaken again.

As far as being able to submit ti groups without having their bookmarks stored in one's own collection; it would still be possible to recognize spammers and self-promoters because the name of the submitter would remain attached to the bookmark (in the group). Pehaps a link on his/her personal page that points to a collection of: "bookmarks submitted to groups." My concern about this is simple: I have a group to collect links to dictionaries and lexicons, and I don't see the point of having all those bookmarks in two places. I am the moderator of the dictionary group, so I don't really need those dictionary links in my main/personal collection. Seems like clutter.

Your two suggestions are great, especially the flag button, or a filter button for specific submitters. This would make it easier to see/delete bad links and/or spam submitted to the group.

About the bury/hide function. Another great idea! Only it should would like Google (in that the results should only affect the specific user who chose to bury the link) and not like Digg (in that the result of the bury affects all users). I don't like the idea of other users burying bookmarks in a group.
