Agree and thanks for your input. We'll be offering more enhancements. Meanwhile, few things you can do now:
1) Extract (we will also further enhance more features here...) 2) Use search to pull out what you need, and use expand to display and print them 2) Export as CSV format
Annotation in cache - sometimes that will require more work - but it's on our agenda to discuss more here.
Great. Earlier I suggest you to make a quick post to share with others that so that anyone with similar problem can let us know (we will soon upgrade everyone)... But, thanks a lot for taking the time to share this feedback. Really great :-)
Glad to hear Diigo is serving you well, and thanks for spreading the words about Diigo :-) Quite encouraging to our entire team to have such kind support from our users...
When you sent forward, ddid you see a yellow "forwarded" message on the upper left corner? That only appears very briefly but it's an indication of whether the forward has been sent. Normally if there is a problem, you will see "Forward failed" message instead.
Can you please double check? Also advise your toolbar version, browser type, etc...
We're working on our next major release. We'd like to invite a few selective loyal Diigo users to participate in our closed alpha testing. We're looking for users who want to help us make Diigo the best it can be by reporting bugs and making suggestions.
To be considered, we'd love to learn more about you, and you must be willing to sign a NDA for non disclosure purpose. For now, we plan to be quite selective and only open up limited spots. In case we might have more volunteers than we can accommodate, please bear with us… we'll be sure to save your name and email and try to get you in at some point in the future.
Please fill out this short survey and email it to info at diigo dot com.
1. Your name 2. Your email 3. Your Diigo ID 4. Your location 5. Your occupation / project(s) that you're involved with 6. Your blog / website 7. Where do you use Diigo? Home / Work / School / Other 8. What operating system(s) are you using? Windows / Mac / Linux / Other 9. What browser(s) do you use? 10. How often do you use Diigo? Thanks so much and looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks for the post - agree that for a general site user forum, it'd be very desirable to have features as you suggested...
Please do note that this diigo group forum is "generic" and used in all of our group forums. Its primary purpose is not for bug / issues tracking, but rather a place for a group discussion (Diigo group forums can be structured with either tag or category... http://blog.diigo.com/2007/04/05/diigo-group-forums-is-here/) - so while the CMS suggested here is quite feature-rich, is that an overkill for most group forums?
Back to your post, we do use a similar system internally for bug tracking, so we do see the value of what you're suggesting here. So, I suppose the question is that should we or do we really need to consider offering a completely offtheshelves CMS system - for just the Diigo site user forum or for all Diigo group forums?
Although understanding the benefits of such feature-rich forums would bring, we still hesitate to throw a stand-along forum out as it is, since we have a lot more plans for the groups and everything requires tight integration.
Also, as you rightly point out, our efforts should be focused on the core Diigo platform features... afterall, user forum is a great "help" but not quite the core of Diigo - this wont' be the key contribution of user adoption. So, we must carefully balance out the nice-to-have wishlists vs. mission critical must-have's.
Cannot go into details of all our considerations here, but I think there are several things that can improve the userabilty of current forum:
B) two additional solutions will be available soon: 1) full text search that coupled with the existing tagging, 2) I will keep this one unwrapped for now :-)
Thanks for sending over your profile - it's helpful. we found the problem - it's caused by a conflict with another extension "All-in-One Sidebar" Will send you both the latest toolbar to see if that solves the problem.
Meanwhile, anyone with the same issue, please email us at info at diigo dot com to request the latest toolbar.
TransTracker ,
The second problem - we can't reproduce the expand comments one without your password - would you mind reset a temp password and email to us?
Saw the screenshot and we're having trouble reproducing it.
Please do this:
1) uninstall and reinstall the latest toolbar (in My Tools" section) . Close all your FF and restart again. 2) If still no luck, we'd appreciate additional help by those who experiencing this problem - we need your FF profile, detail computer specs. see http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/550 on how to send us your FF profile
Separately, I will make another post about these new features and explain what they are for.
Second, like to get more user feedback on this one - we're planning on adding some enhancement to this - but like to gather some input our community members' likes and dislikes.
Please advise more details - computer specs, operating system, browser type, toolbar version, etc... If you're a FF user, please take a look of this http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/550
> > I hate that the tags get cut off after a certain number of characters. It's particularly frustrating when your trying to scan your tag cloud and nothing seems to make sense because bits and pieces of words are all running together.
Got it - being addressed now.
> > Forcing the tag cloud/list to be in a scrolling list is annoying (as opposed to just displaying them in a column on the right that grows as your browser window space allows). I have a big screen and I want to be able to glance over and see every tag all at once, not have to scroll through some tiny iframe that I can't resize.
Will allow user to set preference soon.
> > The tag list should stay in the display format I select, either by checking some box as an account preference or by just having the tool stop defaulting to a cloud sorted by number of items every time the page changes or refreshes.
Same as above.
> > The tag editing screen is frustrating. I'd like to be able to see every tag on a single screen and edit or delete them right there. Ideally, I'd like to just be able to edit and delete tags by rolling over them or clicking them in the tag list/cloud that appears on the right when you're viewing your bookmarks. The whole process of going to a separate screen and only being able to look up tags alphabetically is tedious, especially if all your tags don't fit on one screen.
Currently there is a single screen for editing your tags - next to "My tags" there is a "Edit" link - http://www.diigo.com/cloud/username -- > so you don't like this?
I see what you're suggesting. Will discuss more here.
> >Why can't I just delete that "no_tag" tag? And why does it still show that I have 35 bookmarks that use this tag when there aren't actually any bookmarks still using it?
Yes - already done - will roll out soon.
> >Why can't I delete the "links" tag? I think this is another one that got created automatically when I imported bookmarks, and it seems impossible to get rid of (or even to just have it display a zero beside it when there are no bookmarks using that tag). >
the tag "Links" is being used in a special way in Diigo - we'll discuss more to see if allowing editing on this particular tag could lead to some other complication.
Meanwhile, please see the middle section "Add to Links/Bookmarks Toolbar" in http://www.diigo.com/help/bookmark/2 (although it's in the process of being updated to reflect the latest changes.) This allows you to have super quick access to frequently used bookmarks in any link folder that you specify. I am so customized to having these link folders - it's one of my favorite features that I use daily :-)
> To the diigo developers, sorry if I sound ungrateful. I hope someone is reading this and you guys/girls might address some of my gripes before the next release. I'm trying to pick a social bookmarking tool to recommend to the several thousand college professors I work with, and I really want diigo to do well!
Not at all, all good ones. Our team appreciate users input - in fact, we were just having a team discussion on a user suggested feature - and our guy said: "oh, they must really care about us to be so involved with their feedback" :-)
Due to users' different settings, computer specs, etc... sometimes we have difficulty reproducing users reported bugs. In the case of Firefox browser user, it sometimes helps when the user can send us a copy of their FF profile, and may be easier for us to duplicate the issue.
To send us your FF profile, please do the following steps:
1) clear your FF private data
2) go to C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\ApplicationData\Mozilla\Firefox and compress the files in this folder --- > note: this is a hidden file, to locate it,
please go to windows explore, tools === > Option === > view == > hidden / show == > show all docs. Then, please check the corresponding name
3) Send it to joel 【at 】 diigo dot com
By the way, the compressed file maybe too large for email. you can send it by
