First of all, a general forum guideline: promotion to other groups is not appropriate here in this Diigo Community User Forum. Otherwise, we'd be faced with spam and promotions that not all Diigo users are interested. This is just common sense and good practice.

Having said that, we definitely encourage and believe in ideas exchange and better way to connect with people with like-minded interests. We highly encourage our users to create their own public groups or join others. We envision Diigo Groups as a new kind of online collaboration platform for both teams who wish to conduct private research & discussion, and people who wish to share their interesting findings and find others with common interest. So, we will be rolling out even more features to allow everyone to discover groups / people. Stay tuned.

    jeffreyjflim,

It's an interesting suggestion. However, we need to think about how to do this properly - not only the list (actually multiple lists for different area) is long and tedious, they also contain lots of confidential future development plan.

While it's generally a good suggestion, and something ideally we should do, very honestly, we have too much going on already - we just don't have enough bandwidth to actively manage and publish (separate out what's confidential, various tasks status, maintain the uptodate list, etc). With the limited time and resources we have, we'd rather focus our energy on delivering the essentials.

Diigo for Maxthon2 - 96 views

We've noticed. Some of our guys are heavy Maxthon users :-) However, it won't be immediate since supporting a new browser toolbar is a major undertaking. We have lots of high priority tasks at hand - may consider it when we have more time and as their market share continues to grow to justify the development time.

Diigolet should work with Maxthon2. Please give it

It's a bit tricky to add Diigolet to Maxthon - Maxthon is not user friendly when it comes to bookmarklet.

To add Diigolet to Maxthon2, try this:

    1. open up maxthon, visit http://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet
    2. right click the diigolet for IE button and choose "Properties"
    3. in the pop up window, select and copy the Address(URL) content and close the pop up
    4. right click the diigolet for IE button again and choose "Add to Favourites"
    5. select all content in the URL text box and Ctrl + v (or right click and paste)
    6. change text in the Title text box to Diigolet
    7. click add
    8. If you don't see the Favourites Bar, right click any blank area on the toolbar and check "Favourites Bar"
    9. done. Click the Diigolet button in you Favourite Bar to launch Diigolet.

    Thanks for reporting.

We've not tested firefox (iceweasel) on Linux yet. Suspect that the several issues you have reported are related to that. We try to support platforms that majority of users use.

If you don't mind, would you mind helping us quickly to test our FF diigolet in that environment? Thanks!

    > Is there a way to sort by tag in a group?

Please elaborate more on what you meant by "sort by tag". When you click into a group bookmark full view, there is a group tag cloud that can be sorted by alpha or freq.

    > We have several subjects in our group but need to be able to see them sorted by subject. How do I do this?

First of all, use effective tagging can be helpful. So for example, there may be subjectA, subjectB, etc. Just make sure that your group consistently add the appropriate tag while bookmarking (of course, each bookmark can have lots of tags but that doesn't stop you from having a pre-determined subject category). To view all the bookmarks under that subject, just click that subject tag in your group tag cloud --> they should all get pulled up nicely.

Two, Group search is coming shortly.

Third, a brand new feature is forthcoming that's going to make your tag / bookmarks organization a lot easier. So, stay tuned :-)

    Hope this helps

[News] New IE Toolbar update - 14 views

We've just updated a new IE toolbar - some users were reporting some issues with Vista or firewall issues earlier - think this new version should have addressed those issues. Thanks to Michael's detailed screenshots that led us to the sources of the problem...

Also, there is a slight change in this IE toolbar: the QuickD shortcut is now Alt+Q instead of Ctrl+Q, but this change is only in IE and doesn't affect the FF version.

Please let us know if you notice anything. Thanks again for all of your continued support and kind help.

Great, I will drop you a line... In fact, lots of conversations do take place privately, especially confidential ones :-) Since Diigo's inception, we've been very blessed by the kind help we've received from many of our users, ranging from active bug reporting and feature suggestions, to words of encouragement. We're extremely thankful for your time, input and kind help!

So, if anyone has good ideas / suggestions that they wish to discuss with us privately, please email us at info at diigo dot com - we love to hear from you!

    Hans,

Excellent point . Our belief has always been that what's seen on many social bookmarking & social network services out there are barely scratching the surface of what can be done....

Diigo will continue to innovate and bring forthward meaningful services for the world of internet users...

Are you referring to those "star images" on that page?

I tried it and it seems ok - basically you just need to "clip" those image using our highlight function (they are not video nor flash -- "Clipit" is only for video clipping). Just use your mouse to select the image and click diigo to highlight http://www.diigo.com/help/highlight/1. You will see "collected to diigo" message shown briefly on the upper left corner of the picture that you just "clipped"

    Please check again and advise.
