Thanks for letting us know.
Just checked - we found out the problem -it's caused by the latest toolbar change that does numbering... We have some other issues to consider - will get them resolved soon.
Meanwhile, you can use Diigolet before the toolbar fix. (I really like the new Diigolet now - give it a try!)
Note: Diigo is undergoing very rapid changes now (a ton load of stuff are being worked on under the hood....) While this is great for enhancing the site features, it also means that sometimes unexpected issues could come up, triggered by some new changes. We apologize for the inconvenience when this happens. We've always tried to be careful and do as much testing as possible here, but it's near impossible for us to test through all possible scenarios and across all platforms...
So, we really need our community members' help - if any of you notice any issue, just let us know instead of getting frustrated... We will try our best to be responsive. Together with your help, we can make Diigo the best it can be.
Thanks for your understanding and continued active support!
Thanks! -
No, toolbar is where the problem is. Try the Diigolet http://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet

yes you can highlight and add sticky note with diigolet.
After you drag and drop the new diigolet to your bookmark bar, go to any webpage, click Diigolet. A Diigolet menu will automatically appear.
Then, use your mouse to select a block of text, either you can use the "highlight" menu that pops up, or after you made the selection, click the "highlight" icon in the diigolet menu to highlight.
You can either add an in-situ sticky note, or a floating note not attached to any highlight via diigolet as well.

Yes - full text search of forum forthcoming... Meanwhile, see http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/579 (Note: full text search of group bookmarks now available. (under more options in search)

There is no setting for allow you to do the username change yourself. It will need to be done manually by us in the backend. Let us know, but only when it's really, really essential to get changed...

> I often change the title (especially when there is only the URL instead of a title) and then I got the error message of course because I often mix it up. So why not having 1. the title and 2. the URL as normal? ;-)
You can change the title of each bookmark by going to each bookmark, and move your mouse over in "blank space" on the right-hand side -- > you will see a bunch of functions show up -- > click "edit" to edit the title.
However, we don't allow editing of URL for the following reason: although allowing changing URL is very simple, because of Diigo's unique ability to annotate on webpages and those are specific to URLs, offering the options to allow users to edit the URL will potentially lead to unexpected complication.

We used to have a page with various sizes of Diigo icons - will update them again soon.
Meanwhile, here is one that you can use http://www.diigo.com/images/r_logo.gif
If you need some different size / file type, just let us know. -
Maybe you're referring to "Add to Diigo"? http://www.diigo.com/tools/add_to_diigo
But yes, will update a page with various Diigo Icons / Logo sizes again soon. Diigo website is undergoing some new changes - CSS stylesheets and webpages are being re-worked on.
Thanks for your kind help for spreading the words about Diigo.

note formatting - must line breaks and everything be "squashed" together for me? - 34 views

The text should be saved exactly as you type in the sticky notes. I made two public sticky notes right on your post - please mouse over and check them out.
Meanwhile, I do notice that the formatting in the expanded view in "My Bookmarks" section for the "non-rich-formatted" note is not quite reserved. Will pass on to our engineer's attention. -
Please upgrade to the latest FF browser version. Perhaps that's what affects your viewing.
To view the public annotation, make sure your viewing mode is set to "View All" - you can verify by going to the toolbar >> Diigo >.View Annotations -
My first example (on your #1 post) is shown without rich format text editing. Line spacing there seems to be preserved just fine.
My Bookmarks area - will get that fixed.
multi-word tags - how to tag properly? - 420 views

see http://www.diigo.com/help/tagging/1
put quotation before and after the multiple words
(note: we're doing another upgrade in server now - may temporarily affect the index server but should be up very shortly) -
Jeffrey,
the display doesnt really work that well for the phrase when it comes to my tag cloud in the "My Bookmarks" page... (if i tag "first second", the cloud shows only the word "first", with an invisible "space" after it! u'll see that "invisible space" when u mouseover the word "first" in the cloud...)
----> this has to do with not having enough space for tag display (in "My Tags" right column, for example). We don't yet have a good solution yet without doing major "operation" to UI. Suggestion welcome.
case-sensitive tags - any chance of it happening? - 384 views
-
Thanks for both of your input.
Tagging impacts both organization and search result. Although there are certain pros as suggested, we also need to carefully consider many cons the case-sensitive tags will bring, such as existing tags, potential bigger mess in retrieving community tags (information ended up less easily found because everyone has different tagging convention, misspelling due to different cases, etc....), not a convention supported by all other services and search engines - this may lead lots of complication in data import / export / sync, etc, etc. ...
-
Thanks for more helpful input from you all. We will discuss more here to consider preserving tag cases for display, not for search. Of course, we need to figure out a good way to resolve the long tag UI display issue as well...
Glad you like Diigo. Judging from your comment, you should be quite an expert user- love to have your feedback and active participation.
Despite lots of hypes and noises out there, we're focused in executing our vision - it will only become richer and richer in all aspects and become even more useful. We're idealists with lots of practical business sense. Diigo plans to be around for a long, long time :-) -
This will be very helpful. Ideas cannot be translated into reality, unless everything is carefully thought out and architected.
Also, without sounding disrespectful, some of the messages are extremely cryptic and hard to follow. To facilitate productive discussion, may I suggest as much "plain" language as possible.
I suggest we take this new line of discussion to another group

First of all, glad you found Diigo useful.
I'm having some trouble following you. Can you elaborate more? meanwhile, have you checked out our help tip on customized search http://www.diigo.com/help/search/3 http://www.diigo.com/help/search/4 -
Got it - interesting.
Will discuss here to see if that's possible.
changes in bookmarks also in groups? - 6 views

Hi Peter,
We have some tough design choices when we initially decided on the group sharing features. While I certainly see your point (convenient from a user's view), there are complications to support such logic. We've decided to make "Group" and "My" separate for several reasons:
1) There might be actions happen in the group (such as the group admin changes the tag, comments, etc. or even delete the bookmark in the group) that you may not wish to automatically translate back to your "My Bookmarks" section.
2) Likewise, if we automatically translate / copy what's happening in your "My bookmarks" to the groups that you've shared to, your latest change may not be in sync with what's happening / group dynamics in that same identical bookmark but now in the group setting - there could be other group members' active discussion, contributions, etc... If we simply copy your "My" to "groups", while it makes sense from a user's "my" perspective, the overwrite could potentially cause more group collaboration / dynamic issues.
Diigo platform is more than just sharing bookmarks. With our current features and future features in mind, trying to keep track of who contributed what, what overwrites what, sync data in real time, etc... is quite complex in programming logics and heavy in real time computing resources. Since you can easily check your group activities, vs. your own "my", we feel our current design is a reasonable "compromise".

Hi Fridemar,
255.
While some feature requests may seem like very easy fix to users, for example, why not just simply switch to a higher number and that's it. In this case, there are actually several technical backend db issue, plus CSS display (how to properly show them in tag cloud , My tags, other tag areas, etc. without screwing all the format, etc.....) we need to address. What seems simple may take countless hours to get it done right.
Anyway, all feedback are taken into adequate consideration, in terms of feasibility, necessarity (niche vs. majority need), priority, our overall plan, etc.. We're constantly looking for ways to further improve Diigo and make it better and better. Thank you all for your valuable feedback and active support!
