Diigo Firefox plugin not able to recognize bookmarked pages - 394 views

    This isn't good news.
Has Diigo dropped support for Firefox and give priority to Google Chrome?
BTW, it would appear that Firefox is gaining momentum and Chrome going downhill in users.

I have an issue with Firefox Windows version.
Everytime i install Diigo addon, it must be first installed (before others) and rebooted if i want to modify options and then save them. This issue doesn't occur in Linux.
Not a big deal but i'm not too inclined to report anything anymore as it would seem that Diigo has become a subdivision of Google spyware.

Keyboard shortcuts issue in Firefox [Un-Solved] - 24 views

keyboard shortcuts

Haven't been able to make personalized keyboard shortcuts stick since Firefox 11. Could it be a conflict with other addons or other programs on Windows 7 ?
  • ...1 more comments...

Just re-installed Firefox 12 as first add-on and everything is fine.
  • Daniel Gauthier

I noticed that when i install it on Firefox Beta or Aurora, if i install Diigo first i don't have problems configuring and saving personalized hot-keys.

In Linux this issue doesn't exist.
  • Daniel Gauthier

This issue is far from being resolved...

I noticed that the customized shortcuts will work if:

    1. I restore Firefox extensions via Mozbackup along with all the other backed up extensions;
    2. Diigo is installed first (previously posted here) before any other extension;
    3. No such problem exists on Linux based OS.

Working on Windows 7 Home Ed.

How to become an "active and trusted user"? - 112 views

user trust comments Diigo
  • Daniel Gauthier

I've been a regular user and promoter of Diigo since day one.
For some reason my comments must remain on the "private" level.
As far a i know, i have never misbehaved or been warned by Diigo authorities for any wrong doing.
So, i'm wondering, what does it take to become an "active and trusted user" in order to post public comments on bookmarked pages?
  • ...8 more comments...
  • Daniel Gauthier

    Consider it done!

But i've had followers from the beginning. Must be something else.
  • Daniel Gauthier

Did that work out for you Garrett?
  • Daniel Gauthier

BTW, after looking in my profile, i discovered that i've only got 99 followers.
How many more do i need?
  • Daniel Gauthier

Ya, maybe with one more (100 followers) i'll be okay.

At least i know i'm not the only one in this predicament.

Does it look like Diigo has gotten big like Google that they don't have to worry about giving support in forums like these?
  • Daniel Gauthier

I think what makes it harder for Diigo to give better support is the fact they have expanded their services to way too many browsers (first Firefox, then IE, then Google Chrome, then Safari etc.)

Just like Google. They've gotten into things way beyond their "britches" and may have to kick off a few things in order to make the rest work more effectively.
  • Daniel Gauthier

Nice to see we got almost 50 views for this thread.
Perhaps someone from "support" will pickup on it someday...
  • Daniel Gauthier

2 months soon, still no word from Support Team.
  • Daniel Gauthier

I had emailed Maggie about this issue long before posting here (never got an answer).
At first, when Diigo was new on the scene, we had quite a few exchanges via email.
I guess now that Diigo has made it big time, they kind of forget some of the friends who helped them to get there.
  • Daniel Gauthier

After taking a glimpse at Maggie's profile and all the groups she belongs to, it's not surprising to know why she doesn't not have time for this group anymore.

We could perhaps get her attention if we created a new group and invite her huh!
  • Daniel Gauthier

Perhaps Diigo could set the feature with a minimum requirement?
Say, a user must have at least 5 friends, belong to 5 groups, have at least 55 bookmarks.
Wouldn't this prove that he/she is a trustworthy user?

Awesome Screenshot, Read Later and Quick Note addons are welcomed novelties to Firefox4 but the icons don't fit with some themes like Nuvola. Diigo's icon becomes too big. Likewise for basic Diigo toolbar icon.

This is a correction to original post.

Many thanks to Diigo devs for upgrading the best social bookmarking tool. :)

If you right-click to customize, you can drag the Diigo icon out.

(Definitely is not discreet in comparaison with Firefox 4 default theme).

    Thanks Sandy!

It's nice to see that it works quite well with latest Firefox betas. :)

I just recently noticed that people who post nonsense comments on webpages could lose their option to do so. That's good news 'cause i stopped reading them along time ago for the non-pertinent comments or just plain grafitti. Hope whoever censors these comments will take note of the date when these scribbles were posted so that everyone becomes aware of such a change in policy.

I'm testing b8 which is pretty good so far.
Other sites like Amplify offer similar services to Diigo are compatible with b8.
Of course, they probably don't "have" to be compatible with a bunch of services like Diigo does (time consuming) but i feel Diigo should be more at par, especially because they first started out with Firefox.

There's a lot new with Diigo4 but i don't think this affects Diigolet.
It won't hurt anything to remove and re-install the Diigolet though.

Diigo for Maxthon2 - 96 views

diigolet feature maxthon
  • Daniel Gauthier

Maxthon2 is expanding pretty quickly and i would really like to see Diigo work with it.
(they now have Del.icio.us to name one, Furl is indirectly available).
Unfortunately i'm not that much of a geek to make a plugin as explained here:
    http://help.maxthon.com/index.php/Plugin_Reference_-_Maxthon_2.x

Do hope to see a brave soul pick up on the project.

"Diigolet should work with Maxthon2. Please give it..."

I missed the last words Maggie.
Without going through all the pain (as we wait for an addon), couldn't a Diigolet or a registry key code (like Furl has) do the trick for Maxthon2?
  • Daniel Gauthier

    Thank you Maggie!

It's a bit tricky to get that url info from the properties window but it works!
BTW, Diigolet works well with K-Meleon too.

It's a pretty nifty way to save bmarks, i like!

    :)

-p.s. it's odd, it doesn't seem to work for AVANT browser.
  • Daniel Gauthier

    Hi Maggie,

    Thanks for the compliment!
I try my best at what i do.

Diigolet also works for Mozilla Seamonkey and K-Meleon but you may have to use the Flock configuration for the first one. It almost works as a plugin in AVANT.
  • Daniel Gauthier

    Update on Maxthon2

    Diigolet works just fine!!!

    Thank you Diigo Tag Team!

By chance i came across this Diigo plugin at Maxthon.
They say it works for 1 and 2 versions but the major bookmarking icon seems to be always in "loading" process for version no.2 (haven't tried no.1). It has many important features and i'm sure it will make a few Diigo/Maxthon users happy.

    http://addons.maxthon.com/tag/Diigo

    Oops! Corrected the plugin link

BTW, i encourage Maxthon users to try it out and to post their comments at the plugin page.
  • Daniel Gauthier

    Graham, that's good.
Using Firefox as default I had forgotten about that one.
Maxthon3 is built on a totally different engine so it may and may no longer apply.

Not sure why Opera is always left behind...
After testing latest Turbo version, i'm sometimes tempted to drop Firefox (we won't talk about IE). The speed in this browser is just superb! Apparently next Opera version will be even faster.

    Hi,

I just did a search in my Delicious account and had four very relevant and fast results.
Diigo showed three bmks including one non-relevant and took twice the time.

My Delicious account depends on the bookmarks i make on Diigo.

    Hi,

The last extension seems to be bogging down Firefox.
At least at start up and sometimes even when changing pages.

I've read posts at the Mozilla extension page that confirm this problem.
Have returned to previous version (3.1.6.5) and it seems to be doing much better.

Jay, perhaps you should re-write your post title to reflect that question.

You can post your question here or p.m. her.

To your question about this forum i believe you must first subscribe to this group.

Yes, a big thanks to Maggie who has been and still is of much help to helping Diigo to grow.
