How about a separate collecting button on the toolbar? When this button is clicked:
1. The browser window is in a collecting mode
2. You can drag and drop any part(picture, video, text chunk) of the web to a container. Therefore, different parts from different pages can be put to a container easily.

Further more,
3. You can edit the container and make it more like a research report in diigo site.

It's a hard call. While some users want this feature, most users feel it doesn't matter. Adding rich text support will make the toolbar more complex:( and more likely to trigger a bug, for example, conflicting with other extensions. Considering the development cost, if we add this feature for you in a special toolbar, will you consider paying for a premium feature fee, such as $1 per month?

The view filter feature is available in new firefox toolbar. After you install it, go to Diigo toolbar ==> Highlight drop down menu ==> See All annotation to choose filter.

You can use any diigolet in chrome http://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet. However, diigolet is not so powerful as diigo toolbar.

Normally, if people get your annotated link(which is a secret link), they can see the private sticky notes. This feature is designed for sharing. For example, if you want to share some notes only with one of your email contacts, you can make a private stick notes and send the annotated link to this contact.

However, you can still work around it by going to Diigo button ==>This URL ==> Get annotated link ===>Click options to find other annotated link option.

A new toolbar version with view filter feature is in testing now.
