Highlighting Flash media, highlighting images
> highlight should be a single function, both for text and photos, and
> should also save multimedia files such as videos and flash games.
Hint: select five or more characters (excluding white space) either side of an image — or Adobe Flash content, such as a movie — to include that image/movie in your Diigo highlight. -
Integration, synchronisation, replacement
> synchronized with the browser in real time and allow to replace the bookmarks saved by links
> synchronize data between different computers
Weave may be a way forward, but there should be care to not conflict with other approaches to integration/synchronisation. http://www.brighton.ac.uk/centrim/Members/gjp4/2009/08/06 focuses on keychains but the logic may be extended to other areas.

Graham

Symptoms at http://www.diigo.com/annotated/6b8e24b378b7ae4b1017a20ab893b9b7 remind me of symptoms in two, possibly three other topics.

Diigolet not loading properly at a Microsoft site - 7 views

At http://www.officeformac.com/ms/blogs/blog1/A-New-Outlook-for-Mac-Office I can't get Diigolet to load.
-
For the same URL: when I temporarily switched to Diigo in Firefox 3.5.2, I had a problem with sticky notes (impossible to add public notes to existing highlights). That problem is detailed elsewhere. The problem with sticky notes seems to have passed.
Back to this topic: still, Diigolet will not load. -

http://www.orato.com/node/2791?page=2 redirects to
http://www.orato.com/self-help/frank-warrens-postsecret so I can't test Diigolet 4.0b14 with the first of those two URLs, but it loads OK with the second.
Possible cross reference

Organisation/layout within Diigo Meta in Diigo 4.0 beta can become weird, for example
http://www.diigo.com/bookmark/http%3A%2F%2Flists.oasis-open.org%2Farchives%2Fopendocument-users%2F200903%2Fmsg00009.html?tab=comment&uname=garyedwards presents one sticky note three times (one note four times, if you include the History tab) and my main gripe with the layout is that you must scroll down in a small space to bring those tabs into sight.

Using Safari on Mac OS X, it's easy to create a Dashboard widget from any part of a Diigo page.
Hint: to easily enable Dashboard developer mode, and so allow widgets to be used on the desktop (free from Dashboard), use TinkerTool

Would you like to chime in under http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/kupu-fckeditor-tinymce-8503 ?
@ Diigo developers
Focusing on the original topic, unabridged:
> Allowing minimal html in the forum text
I realise that there may be a requirement to _not_ make forum front end GUI and back end services too heavyweight.
For users who prefer plain text composition, a preference and related cookie could please.

What's the point in removing notes from the highlights to which they relate?
Gary Edwards writes:
This quote is an excerpt from the article :)
What quote? Which quote?
By removing Gary's note from the text to which it was stuck, Diigo Meta makes his note senseless.
