= Bug =
Copy Permanlink dialogue does not progress beyond 'loading…'.
I have tried a few times, waited a few minutes. -
The annotations do exist:
- and could be reviewed after reloading the page:
- but only in Safari; reviewing the URL in Firefox 3.0.6 with Diigo 3.1.6.13 yielded zero (0) annotations.
Whilst my original bookmark
http://www.diigo.com/user/grahamperrin/41994+diigo
remains broken, sharing the bookmark to a group e.g.
http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/bookmark/tag/41994+diigo
produces a working bookmark.
groups.diigo.com lacks the option to Get Annotated Link.
I wondered whether the addition of the annotations of the group's copy of the bookmark would result in appearance of the annotations in a subsequent review in Firefox, but no; Diigo in Firefox still shows zero annotations. There's a separate bug…
* Safari 4 Public Beta (5528.16)
* Mac OS X 10.5.6, Intel
* Diigolet 3.1b506
This bug
http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/41994 is probably blocked by
http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/41995 and I suspect that Diigo may fail to offer an annotated link for other types of truncation.

5. scroll down
6. do _not_ click 'Copy' or 'Close'
7. begin selecting from around the bottom of the annotations space
- and probably take care to _exclude_ the 'Copy' and 'Close' buttons
8. finish selecting at around the top of the annotations space
- and probably take care to _exclude_ the 'close' hyperlink'
9. command-C to copy to pasteboard
10. paste to your favourite editor.†

When I paste http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/282-spero-more-information/ to a sticky note the hyperlink breaks.
When I paste the same URL in angle brackets, the whole thing disappears.
Please, can you add support for angle brackets?

No, there's much more.
Experiment with the search field, and lists, and headings (dividers) within lists etc.. I haven't looked at the online help in a while but there should be plenty of good videos and other resources to help you find your way around the features. -

An image alone can not be highlighted.
A common workaround:
* include in your selection some relevant words on one or both sides of the image.

1. at http://www.diigo.com/item/bookmark/grahamperrin/http%3A%2F%2Fwww.screencast-o-matic.com%2F view a few comments on page 1 of 3
2. click '3' (for page 3 of 3 of the comments)
3. click '2' (for page 2)
4. click '1' (for page 1).
Bug
At pages 2 and 3 then at page 1, the implication is that there are 47 pages (44 more than the 3 originally indicated).
At pages 2 and 3 then at page 1, only one comment is shown:
* page 1 shows the most recent comment
* page 2 shows the one before that
* page 3 shows the one before. -
Looks good to me. Thanks for speedy service.

Not quite what you want but … how about,
1. bookmark http://www.diigo.com/user/chrisl/?privacy=private
2. create an accelerator or macro for that bookmark.
Use that bookmark as a starting point whenever required, then:
* edit the address field of your browser (not the search field of Diigo) to specify tags. -

- when I first read about the shift to a freemium business model, access to past caches was my greatest concern.

Sandy and all, many thanks.
I strongly recommend moving some way back towards the behaviour of highlights and menus that was normal to Diigo 3.x.
Requiring the user to move away from the highlight, to work with the highlight, is very unergonomic (and seems to be fraught with problems).
The Diigo 3.x approach, allowing the menu to drop from the highlight (not from some way away from the highlight) was intuitive and easier, and I never had such problems with it :) -
