A question for Diigo team:
please, what's going on with comments?

For the past few months, comments have been missing from annotated links.

Today, I realise that comments are also missing from Diigo for Chromium/Chrome.

Seriously, I can't recommend Diigo for sharing or collaboration whilst there's the huge question mark surrounding comments. Please, what's going on?

I'd like to offer http://www.diigo.com/09t9e to colleagues but it's useless. It doesn't show my public Diigo comments.

As far as I can tell, the same problem for all annotated links: comments addressed to the public are not seen by the public.

Please, can Diigo team offer a statement on what's going on?

Is the hiding of public comments deliberate?

Or is this a major bug, difficult to fix, that wasn't anticipated when Diigo was re-designed?

Yes, the same result. The mis-count is probably comparable to
(2008-11-02)
mis-counts of bookmarks and readers at 'Reader Community' and at 'Site Community'

AFAICT the comments that I added on 24th March appeared in my library some time later. Probably after the fix reported by Diigo at http://twitter.com/diigo/status/10988548758

In a topic elsewhere I discovered http://www.diigo.com/tools?version=firefox_classic

(http://www.diigo.com/tools/toolbar simply steers Safari and other users to Diigolet, without mentioning Classic. Hence the mystery.)

I'm resolving this one as invalid. From what I can gather, the highlights were successful (as in, communicated to a Diigo server) but there was some delay before representation.

Looking at this and other recent topics, my guess is that some part of Diigo service is read-only at the moment. No service announcement at http://blog.diigo.com/ so I guess that it's a bug (not scheduled maintenance).

My guess: Diigo services are working through a queue of recent changes, and your library will be properly populated in due course.

If/when you're satisfied that your library is back to normal: please add a note to this topic, so that it can be marked as resolved.

It seems that things were queued — not lost — so I have removed the dataloss tag from this topic, and marked it resolved.

Highlights made by me on 24th March, previously disappearing from the bookmarked page and not visible in my library, are now visible both on the page, and in my library.

I guess that a queue of changes to annotations (additions, editions, deletions) over the past two or three days is being worked through. Keyword:

* patience

You might find that recently added highlights:

* disappear when you reload the page on which you draw them
* are not in your library.

There was a nudge on Twitter around five hours ago. I'll follow up with an e-mail to Diigo just to be sure that this class of bug isn't lost amongst other recent discussion in the group.
