Search feature within Toolbar error message - 71 views
-
I know it's Monday but this is the error message i'm getting when trying to search from within the toolbar:
Sorry, the page you requested was not found.
Please check the URL for proper spelling and capitalization. If you're having trouble locating a destination on Diigo, try visiting the Diigo home page
No problems like this from searching within sidebar.
Have latest 3.1.3 -
Later on today i've tried again using Portable with Diigo installed and same issues came around.
Also tried regular browser again and it was the same scenario as originally posted.
Nobody else experiencing this problem ? -
Good show Joel!
And... thanks! It's working just fine now.
I also forgot to mention that when it works properly, i modify the toolbar to have the search feature always on top within Firefox's main toolbar. This way i don't have to keep Diigo's toolbar always open. More viewing room as we await for an eventual Diigo search engine for the Firefox search box. Hint! hint!

Hi,
Does anyone else have this problem?
I have a "new Blogger" account marked as "valid" but it fails to post (an error message comes around).
A WordPress account also marked as "valid" does not have this problem.
So far no response to my post here so i'm starting to feel like everyone else's Blogger account setup is okay.
In the mean time I've opted to use ScribeFire extension as an alternative. -
Blergie,
I just tried a moment ago and it worked!
Had been using ScribeFire extension for Firefox in the meantime.
Worse comes to worse, send an email to support.

Furl tags not being imported - 80 views

Cornelia,
I know that when i bookmark with Diigo to other accounts everything goes fine except for Furl.
They don't recognize the tags that we give with Diigo.
Can it be a vice-versa situation? Like tit for tat? - ...2 more comments...

Cornelia,
Never give up!
I just went over to Blinklist and they have a specific Furl import feature via their XML file.

Cornelia,
Was just thinking about you!
Glad you found a workaround to your problem. Phew!
Manga? Isn't that a fruit of sorts?
If only my English and French were at par, then perhaps i would pick up some Japanese!

Care2 - Suggestion to merge with Diigo - 23 views

Care2.com as a non-profit organization IMHO, could invariably profit from Diigo's bookmarking service and vice versa. How? Why?
Both are group orientated services that have things the other doesn't yet.
Diigo doesn't have an email service.
Care2 doesn't have a comment window for pages visited.
I'm just starting to scratch the surface here, but I'm sure if you take time to look at what both services offer, there could be a complimentary way to make an enhanced and unique toolbar that could make something rather unique on the web. What do you think? -
Thanks Maggie for that article.
I'm just starting to get into their web site and toolbar so it's easy for you to understand how little i know about this venture at this point in time. From the looks of things, they are doing an excellent job. I'm sure their funds are being used in a positive manner. Their website offers quite an array of places for people to lend a hand.

How to load "my bookmarks" search in Firefox Sidebar - 69 views
-
It's not the ideal situation but hopefully still useful as we wait for a promised Sidebar.
Basically, just go to your bookmarks page, click on the "more" option next to search box, bookmark it to your bookmarks toolbar then right click on that link and tick the load in sidebar box on the left hand corner.
You will want to drag your sidebar a bit in but it shouldn't hopefully invade your view too much. -
The suspense is killing me Maggie!

Although it has improved over time, I've always found Diigo and Furl to be somewhat slow.
If you want to see a notable difference with a similar service, try out Ma.gnolia or even Yahoo's or Del.icio.us. - ...1 more comments...

Québec City.
Just did a few searches and things went just fine.
Experience shows me that insome parts of the day webpages come in quicker than others.
It's early a.m. here so I'll try a bit later throughout the day to see if there are any major differences.
J'ai parlé à travers mon chapeau? -
Diigo Team and users,
Me thinks an apology is in the order of things.
Have just tested again the search feature and i can't believe how quick the results come around!
I can't figure it out... it's just mind boggling!
Isn't it always like that? You want to show a point to someone, your computer fails, the connection is slow etc. etc.?
Oh well! My appreciation and confidence for Diigo and support team has just been strengthened.
Just sent in a link to a video clip where i noticed a Diigo window used in the presentation. Hope this can help me to make up some way for my all to quick posting here...
-Daniel
-p.s. having reflected a bit on the reason why i posted here about this speed issue, i recall many months ago having tried to perform searches on Diigo and found it to be much slower than it is today. At that time i decided to add bookmarks to other services and use them to make my searches. I kept using Diigo because i enjoyed the different options available, the easy way to add/edit existing bookmarks and... the Support team that showed an uncommon interest in helping users out.

Still trying to figure that one out.
If my Blog i.d. was setup properly and accepted with Blogger account name and p.w. what else was i missing?
Sorry for my misunderstanding, it may be too early but i'm not much of a geek. -
joel wrote:

-That i can understand.
Blog ID parameter was used to identify the different blogs you may have.
-Okay.
Your previous blog-this setting in Diigo had the right Blogger account but wrong Blog ID, so your account was valid but you fail to post blog.
-If it had wrong Blog ID, why did it not post somewhere just the same?
We found the problem and changed the Blog ID to the right one.
-That's what counts!
-Thanks again Joel for looking into this as it may happen to others someday.

Perhaps an extension to the Firefox search box?
Furl has one.
Or else, an extra option within toolbar box to search "my bookmarks" directly?
Silly question - 41 views

Does adding a new bookmark (with multiple tags) add more than one bookmark to "local bookmarks" or is just that one with multiple tags (huh?!) ?
-
joel wrote:
> Ever tag becomes a folder in local bookmark system, so more than one bookmark is added to "local bookmarks"
I was kind of hoping that wasn't the answer.
Thanks anyway Joel! -
Joel,
Actually i was hoping to have only one bookmark added with multiple tags.
Why? Well, basically the smaller your Firefox bookmark load the less time it takes to start up.
I have a 400k file with a little over 1,000 bookmarks.
2,000 it seems make it a bit huge.
Anything over is too much.
If ever you need to export the file, an option would have to be setup to have just the first tags as primary i.d.
But that would be a browser issue i guess right?
Also, searching through Firefox is way faster than any online bookmarking service.
Ctrl+B your bookmarks are instantly called up and you know the rest.
Diigolet also works for AVANT browser - 9 views

In a previous post here, i reported that Diigolet failed to work with AVANT browser.
After a few post at their own forum we finally found a workaround.

You are quite welcome Joel!
From recent tests, Diigolet works pretty with any popular browser that doesn't have it's own toolbar yet !Have also tested: Slimbrowser, k-Meleon, Maxthon2, Opera...
Flexibility is a must in the Social Bookmarking arena right?

So long as you set your stickies default to private hé!
There was a privacy issue with Google that should be a lesson to all.
I like that idea loyola, very good! :) -

antomonte,
It's been a few months already, but if my memory serves me right, it was regards to the Notebook that was
set to "public" by default instead of "private". Hence, your data was made practically readily available to their powerful search engine and thus, to any curious surfer.

Did i miss out on something?
Has the share bookmark option to other bookmarking services been discontinued?
I can't see it in the options so perhaps it was moved elsewhere?
Think i'll go back to bed!
Now i understand why your avatar shows you scratching your head.
Wish i could delete this thread. Sorry!!!
