Summarize the ideas in ZeFrank's video "The Teen Brain" in relation to "Emotionnal Intelligence 2.0" by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves. Why do you think that developing our EQ is important for both teenagers and adults?

After i watched this video i found out that why i always did stupid things which made me regret.
Firstly we don't have enough reacting space in our brain to respond situations that we meet, it always is an emotional reaction. If we have enough time or space to think about the situation and analyze it, alone with its results. You certainly won't hear your whisper of"Oh , i ' m for what i have done". So building the skill of self-awareness is important.

Don't lose the chance to develop the skill of self-management. If you are an adult and had been well educated. You must have some extra experience than others, However that doesn't mean you could stop maintaining it. In another word. It is important to teenagers develop their brain amply but also for adults to keep the training to their own actions.

ZeFrank claims that teenagers' brain are more active than people in different age. Teenager has better creativity because their brain is so active, which they cannot always make wise decision. They will either be really successful by making right determination or corrupt themselves by making bad decision such as drugs, drinking, etc. On the other hand, "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" conveys series of strategies for readers to develop self-management, self-awerness, social-management and social-awerness. It is extremely important for both teenagers and adults to develop their EQ. For instance, teenagers should working on self-management and social-management so that they don't make reckless choices and bad friends. Furthermore, social-awerness and social-management is something that adults should concentrate on, because they need to know how to socialize not only with their friends but also teenagers. They will be capable of communicate appropriately with teenagers through improving social-management and social-awerness skills. Consequently, EQ is particularly important for both teenagers and adults.

In the video, "The Teen Brain", ZeFrank talk about the teenagers' brain are more active than people in different age. Teenagers cannot always wait for the wise decision, because they have better creativity and their brain is brisk. Also teenagers always is an emotional reaction, they don't have enough reacting time for their active brain to respond situations that they seen. Therewith, Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves, two adults who have exuberant experience in their young adulthood life write a book, "Emotional Intelligence 2.0", teach people become a mature adult in the society. In the book, social-management and social-awareness are focusing on the socialize and influence to the other people. Accordingly, the EQ development is appropriate for the adult and teenager.

ZeFrank's video " The teen brain" shows the teenager's brain are more active than adult's brain. Teenager always have some fancy ideas, but sometimes they will bring some troubles. They can not control themselves well. In the "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" , it helps us to develop self-management, self-awareness, and social-awareness. We can control ourselves well, EQ is the most important thing in our life. If your IQ is low, you can not get grades well, it does not matter, you have friends they can help you make you better. But if your EQ is low, you do not know how to make with friends, you do not have social communicate with other people, you can not live this world. So the EQ is very important for everyone.

In ZeFrank's video "The Teen Brain", he believes that the brain of young people is not develop completed, when the time we meet the critical situation our brain will comes up the idea or the reacting which are reckless and carefree, it may cause bad influnce for teenager's life. On the on hand teenager's brain always give emotional reaction, their barin usually won't give time for analysis the thing they met and various decision, on the other hand as what Emotionnal Intelligence 2.0 talking about, it is necessarily build self-awerness and social-management, it will offer us a tremendous help no matter for teenager or adults. IQ makes people have rich knowledge, but EQ Is the understanding, the ability to control and regulate our emotions. emotional intelligence reflects the different level of emotional quality . EQ for people's success plays a more important role than IQ.

ZeFrank's video "The Teen Brain" was about the how teenagers are much more emotional about little things. ZeFrank stated that teenagers brains are not quite finished developing and because so teenage brains are often impulsive and magnify emotions an, so it is import for teenagers to practice EQ to help them manage the strong emotions they feel and to help them respond better to situations.

ZeFrank's video "The Teen Brain" was talk about what factor affect teenagers to made mistake. The video shows us what is the different between the teenager brain and adult brain, which is most point caused teenager make wrong decision. Thus, parents should forgive teenagers when they made some mistake. However, EQ is a big thing what is the teenagers should working on. EQ is emotional Quotient and it include emotion-control, self management and self awareness. Therefore, developing our EQ is both important for teenagers and adults. A person success is not only depend on IQ, but also depend on EQ. However, most scientist support that EQ is most point decide a person success, so EQ is important for adults and teenagers.

ZeFrank talks about the fluidity of the teenage brain in "The Teen Brain". He states that teenage brains are not exactly inadequate but that they simply function different. Based on the layout of our brains our initial reaction to things is strictly emotional. After we have settled in with what has happened we start to think rationally. The difference between an adult brain and a teenage brain is that adult brains tend to have shorter emotional reactions and quickly move to the rational way of thought and reflection. As a teenager myself i have noticed that I do sometimes drag out the emotional side of my reactions it is only until later that I see a more reasonable approach to my struggles.
  • Deker Adelman

he talks about how teenage brains are diffrent and they way they are set up. we act solely off our emotions and it takes some time before we actually start to think and are able to deal with the issue.and teens and adults are diffrent because the adults still do get effected by emotional reactions but are able to move through it quicker and get past it. When i get into a situation like this my emotions defiantly get the best of me and thats when i make stupid decisions and say things that i regret later.

The ideas in ZeFrank's video "The Teen Brain" are that human are emotional creatures. Most of time emotion will control human before the logical thinking, teens are the classics examples that are more easy to controlled by emotions because of the lack of enough development of teen's brain compare to adults, and that is why teens are likely do things more impulsively. Therefore "The Teen Brain' is relate to "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves because of the common argument on the importance of emotion. "The Teen Brain" shows us that the we are emotional creature and it is causing the problem. Emotional Intelligence 2.0 tells us the specific to practice the emotional intelligence.

EQ is important for both teens and adults is that we can practice EQ. IQ is a important way to value people's learning ability, but we can't change it. EQ is the ability that we can practice and it is important for our daily life, such as socialize, handle the stress and how to deal with the problems.

In Ze Frank's The Teenage Brain he basically says that until the part of our brain where wisdom resides completely develops, we are a complete mess. Yes teenagers are emotionally unstable, unable to make big decisions without bits of impulsivity, and sometimes just completely reckless, but what if someone just stopped to teach them about EQ. This year I have learned a lot about how I interact with the people around me and I practiced different methods of speaking with people in tough situations or even something that could have been minorly uncomfortable. EQ taught me how to shut my mouth when I needed to and when to speak when I needed to. If every teenager and adult had EQ the world would run much more smoothly.

The video is demonstrating and showing us how the teenage brain acts out of emotion instead of common sense, which is later gained. The adult brain is more advanced because it has already gone through these experiences and acts less out of emotion because of it. I personally can agree with this and relate because i always act out of emotion instead of common sense and am trying to work on it.

The teenage brain, Ze Frank portrays the bitter truth about your teen years. There is a part in your brain that needs developing in order to understand and deal with emotions, impulsive tendencies (speaking/acting before thinking) and general long term (big deal) decision making. This is evident in your teen years when weather it is a breakup, rumor around school, failing a test, (ect...) it seems as if though your life is just about over. Every emotion is blown up as if its under a magnified glass, to make your teenage years, well, your teenage years. In emotional intelligence 2.0, the subject in target is not only the emotional roller coasting teens, but adults of all shapes, sizes, ethnic backgrounds and occupations. EQ is a daily aspect of our life that we can manage and like a muscle, work out to grow. Personally, I feel that EQ for teens is a head start, and a steeping stone into getting a better job with higher power. For teens to acquire the knowledge through the journey of reading Emotional intelligence 2.0, is ground breaking for high school and college which will set them up perfectly for the years perusing a career in what ever field they choose. Adults! It is not to late! EQ is something you will always be able to gage and build through out your life. Its never too late to start.

Ze Frank's video basically says that us teens need to focus on larger things, rather than petty little issues. It also says that parents need to be more patient! I agree with that, i think i tend to get REALLY upset over little things, but when big issues happen i don't really care about them for some reason! I think that it is very important that EQ is forced upon not just teens but everyone, because it honestly seems way more needed then IQ.

ZeFrank's video "The Teen Brain" captures the harsh reality of the mental phase of an adolescent's brain. The reason us adolescents do not understand or cannot accept certain things put in our way is simply because our brain has not sufficiently developed the required tools to deal with them. This is why teenagers are often impulsive with their thoughts and actions, why they tend to fail coping with their extreme emotions, and why they tend to base their decisions off instant gratification instead of off a long term perspective.
Travis Bradberry's "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" covers what 'EQ' is truly formulated off of. EQ is an emotional capacity level based off of how self-aware and socially aware one is and how well one can manage themselves and relationships with others. One's level of EQ is in other words how well that person is able to deal with ANYTHING (event, crisis, argument, person, personal issue) that takes a direct presence in their life.

Connecting both works, what ZeFrank is really saying in "The Teen Brain" is that teenagers, quite frankly, tend to not possess a very high level of EQ my any means. The average EQ of adolescents (in my opinion) seems to be remarkably low. Fortunately, it is only normal that teenagers have a naturally low EQ. I believe that one is only an adult once they have attained a developed EQ, therefore it is crucial that adolescents begin to become gradually more emotionally invested in themselves so by the time of adulthood, they are ready to tackle anything with a calm and capable mind.

Ze Frank's video: Brain doesn't stop developing until mid-late 20s, which means that teenagers brains are not wired complete yet, and in turn results in improper mental process but also provides maximum creativity. Comparing to EQ2.0 which explains the way thoughts are processed, the signal travels through the limbic area before reaching the logic center frontal lobe, and it's likely that emotions will hijack logic at times. EQ skills allow a person, especially a teenager with a less developed brain, to process the information without the emotion taking over completely.

I think is important teenagers because as they said, the teenagers's brain is still development. so sometimes they do not know how to control their-self. but for the adults i think they also need to earn EQ cause, as a adults they do not a the part like the teens have, they can do 100% about what they want to do. they do not need to think about should i do it or not, they always go for it. but also the teenagers need to use their brain think what they can do and what they should do. so i feel EQ is important for everybody, and everybody have the right to learn EQ.
  • Hang Zhao

Basically, ZeFrank's video is about the unmatured brains teenagers have and what should the adults do to help the teenagers. Teenagers have really active brains so they always do something stupid. When this situation is happening, the adults should not tell them to do things but help them go through the challenges. "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves can help the teenagers to develop the skill of self-control through self-management and self-awareness. So teenagers are always more mature after developing their EQs.
  • Jake Deutschlander

In ZeFrank's video "The Teenage Brain" he expresses how young adults don't always make the smartest choices and can't control some of them because the way the brain is still developing. This is in relation with "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" because in the book it tries to help you become more aware of yourself so you can be more aware of others. There is conflict between the two though because young adults brains aren't done developing which creates it very hard to do have the thought process of what EQ is teaching us. If a teenager reads "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" it will help with there maturity level a lot because of how it teaches you to have better reactions to things but like I said before sometimes the teenage brain doesn't allow some of the things they do before they process them.

As young adults we are continuously trying to prove our maturity to our elders. Although we always find ourselves slipping up, or making mistakes. I think as ignorant teenagers we forget from time to time that our brain isn't in fact fully developed. After watching the teenage brain it reminds me that the actions we do, really do affect us long term. The teenage brain relates to EQ, because as young adults our emotional part of our brain isn't quite developed to its full extent.

Zefranks video "The Teenage Brain' talks about how are brain still has a lot to devolop. As Teenagers, we can make some pretty dumb choices and mistakes. most of our brain is filled with so many emotions that its really hard to focas on serious things in life such as school work and just school in general. the good thing about our brain is that we can stay pretty active and we can have a lot of energy. In this kind of topic, EQ focases on self-management and social-management aspects. We have a lot of developing to do not in just our brains but in our intire body. we go through a lot of puberty and changes that we can't focas enough. we have very high tention span.

As young men and women growing up in a society where mom and dad tend to hold our hands we begin our years relying on them, and then BAM you hit 13 and your sick of parents telling you what to do what to wear and all that. What kids dont understand is their your parents supporting you so they dont feel wrong to tell you these things but as undeveloped brains we just want what we want, like they said sex drugs and rock n roll

As the teenage brain's is still developing, this leaves us more emotionally unstable then adults. It is for this reason that developing our E.Q is important for teenagers, as it teaches them how to react appropriately to what is happening around us. Adults also need to Develop their E.Q's not only for interactions with other adults, but to keep them from losing it when they come into contact with the ferocious and unpredictable teenage menace.

Zefranks Video tells us that teenagers are underdeveloped and shoulder be taken all to seriously, as even the smallest thing can set us into a blinding rage. However if we increase our E.Q we may better put these destructive tendencies to rest

ZeFranks the teenage brain talked about how teenagers have under developed brains which effects decision making. This directly relates to EQ because many times teenagers treat people poorly because they don't know better. This makes it even more important to start teaching EQ at a young age because it needs to be ingrained into peoples minds in order for them to have a good understanding as a teen. This being said, because teenagers have different brains than adults teenagers tend to understand each other better which is a form of EQ on its own just in terms of emotional intelligence.
  • Warner Raulston

Ze Frank's video made me realize, more clearly than ever before, the pointlessness of the frustration I feel as a teenager. EQ on the other hand taught me the importance of learning how to control my emotions when forming relationships with others. Both works taught me that the actions of others shouldn't affect me as much as they often do because they carry little wait with others and often generate negative reactions within myself. Ze explains why this happens, but EQ explain why and how we should move past emotional obstacles. Ze's video also only focuses on teens while EQ is meant for people of all ages.

Developing EQ is important to both teenagers and adults because it allows us to better handle negative situations and to better interact with our peers, making us happier and more successful.

ZeFranks the teenage brain video talks about how the brain is developing during this time in a person's life, which directly affects the way they react and make decisions. This relates to Emotional intelligence because if taught when we are make poor decisions then it could potentially help us to stop and think about what we are doing before we do it. Or how to generally treat people with respect and how to manage our lives without the irrational and most of the time unnecessary trouble our young minds can get us into.
  • Aidan Sperry

My favorite part of ZeFranks "The Teenage Brain" video is all the different diagnostics by adults on why teenagers act they ways they do, "different species, aliens etc". It pretty much sums up the drastic difference between a teenagers developing brain and an adults fully mature brain. Particularly underdeveloped in the teenage brain is the frontal lobe, which as Rainn Wilson puts it is the "wisdom" part of the brain. This explains why teenagers are so impulsive, reckless, you name it as well as overly emotional. ZeFrank says teenagers always "run at 100%", which is a large advantage in many situations but can be extremely detrimental in others. I think the focus of EQ is to limit these detrimental setbacks common in teenagers, and help children and adults alike manage relationships and learn about their brain chemistry. It is just particularly important in teenagers because of their developing brains. My EQ is pretty low and ZeFrank's video showed me the importance of trying to build EQ at a young age.

The way way that Ze Frank is able to compare the teenage brain to later in life like the after effects makes the whole thing very relatable. He shows that teenagers are very impulsive and have urges which if the habit is not broken, can carry out in other parts of one's life. I think that to increase your emotional intelligence you have to be able to break bad psyhscologcial habits and create healthy new ones. Developing our emotional intelligence is very helpful and conducive to our lives. When being able to fully recognize that for teenagers everything is in the moment it would be helpful to see things as an investment for the future which is what Ze Frank is saying.
  • isaachiggins

As teenagers, our brains develop unequally. While we are becoming more independent, outgoing and self-promoting, our frontal lobe remains immature. This means we have difficulties making informed decisions; we do things we feel like doing, not things we necessarily should or that are the best for us in the long run. These difficulties relate to both self and social-management aspects of EQ. They don't necessarily pertain to the awareness portions as teenagers can still be aware of the right thing to do in a situation, but won't act on it. This makes EQ especially important for teenagers in order to develop better decision making skills.
  • Jeans Jiaraksa

As teenagers our brain has not fully developed yet. we are just using parts of it. the emotional part of it. that is why we make dumb, and ridiculous decisions in life. Ze Frank made this very clear by telling us how the science behind it all worked.
  • Michael Spencer

after just now watching the video, "The Teen Brain", ZeFrank talk about how teenagers' brain are more active than older people. Teenagers cannot always wait for the good choices, because they have more creativity and their brain is brisk yet indesicive. Also teenagers always have an emotional reaction as they don't have enough reacting time for their brain to respond situations correctly.

Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves, adults who had exuberant experiences in their early adulthood life wrote a book, "Emotional Intelligence 2.0", attempting in teaching people to become mature adults in modern society. In the book, social management and social awareness are focusing on how you socialize and your influences on the other people around you. Accordingly, EQ development is appropriate for the teenagers such as those in our class. ;)
  • Ryan Moran

Basically Zefrank's video was all about how the teenage brain works differently than a full developed adults brain. Teenagers tend to act on emotion and are very impulsive. So they tend to make a big deal out of something that they'll one day see as very little. Emotional intelligence is a book about how to mature and the four aspects of it are social awareness, relationship management, self management, and self awareness. Teenager's can really benefit from emotional intelligence 2.0 because it will help them learn to be more emotionally intelligent and deal with life a lot better. It is especially important for the teenage brain to develop and mature. It is important with adults as well so adults can become even more emotionally intelligent.
