!. My favorite work was "No Exit" because of the themes that Sartre uncovers and also makes his story very relatable.

    2. The most meaningful assignment was the analysis of your life in jelly beans becasue it wasn't a boxed in form of writing and I learned a lot.

    3. From Poetry out Loud I learned that you might make it to the finish line but you won't break the ribbon, this was because when I got there they told me that it was first place only.

4.Mice and Men is work that I have read over and over again and I think this time I really understood the message I think it's due a lot to the way Mr. Rowe looks at life.

    5. I have many things I need to work on but one word sums it up and it's consistency, if I had shown this trait I would have been able to be a stellar student in the class.

The main theme that is discussed constantly throughout all of these works is this idea of life being cruel and unusual. In Sartre's "No Exit" he gives you this hell of other people which makes it very relatable because everyone has always been in a positon where they don't have control and someone else has control over thier lives. In the video life in jelly beans he gives you a very easy and quick way of understanding in statistics how short life is and how much time we have to devote to certain things. He's pretty much saying to prioritize your time because life is short and you should take advantage of everyday.

The way way that Ze Frank is able to compare the teenage brain to later in life like the after effects makes the whole thing very relatable. He shows that teenagers are very impulsive and have urges which if the habit is not broken, can carry out in other parts of one's life. I think that to increase your emotional intelligence you have to be able to break bad psyhscologcial habits and create healthy new ones. Developing our emotional intelligence is very helpful and conducive to our lives. When being able to fully recognize that for teenagers everything is in the moment it would be helpful to see things as an investment for the future which is what Ze Frank is saying.

Final Exam: (1 of 4) The Overcoat by Gogol - 97 views

The Overcoat Nikolai Gogol Akaky Akakievich

There are many reasons why Gogol is so critical of everything and he feels the need to have some sort of control of the situation he was living within. Gogol is showing us that the government is more of like something that just stands out as some sort of pack instead of them being individuals. When Akaky was finally able to get the overcoat he is faced with such a tease. The tease is he has it for a day and gets it stolen the next, it's like when you buy that TV you've wanted for a while, you carry it home and it's broken, not only is it broken it's also non refundable. The reason that Akaky haunts the people of St. Petersburg is to prove some sort of self fulfillment and also be able to get back at those who always doubted him.

I would say that Gabe is the George to my Lennie and vice versa. I always get caught up in stressful situations and he definitely helps me out. It goes both ways though and we definitely look after each others best. We don't really have the same plan when it comes to life after Hyde. Though we are helping each other get to that point .

In the fourth grade in my Catholic elementary school we rarely received new kids because you had to enroll in the beginning of the year. Well there was this one special case in which a student came into the class. Her name was Alexis and she had incredibly long blonde hair. She was designated to my homeroom which really excited me a ton. We started to talk here and there and then I really started to get feelings for her. There was a flaw to this wonderful story and it was the fact that my friend liked her too. So one day she gets brought up and he and I start to argue. Eventually as a whole we just all stopped talking.

It really feels like this short story isn't like any other in regards to the fact that it doesn't end all happy. He leaves the marketplace feeling very distraught. I think that Joyce does that exact opposite of what Hans Christian Anderson does and most story tellers do in ending the story all happy. I like the controversy that Joyce sets with the theme.

What is the significance of the Montressor family coat of arms? - 63 views

  • Rich Ramirez

The montressor family coat of arms has a slight significance through the story. I think that its really basic that family is the number one thing in the world. Once something or someone does something to one of the family members it is mandated that the family avenges the victim. Loyalty is what every family values
  • Rich Ramirez

It shows that no matter what the Montresor family will not take insult or harm from anyone or anything without that party recieving major reprucussions

I think he has reason to be angry and upset, he can see land but he's on the verge of dying so it's it's such a tease. I don't know if anyone has been close to getting something and then just having it taken away from you but that's what this is but on a whole other level.

I don't think he has regret what so ever. He is a young impulsive teenager who clearly has tricked himself into thinking that he is doing whats best. Though it is very apparent that he quit his job and created this whole fiasco by means of getting the girls attention. At the end he has the opportunity to take back what he said and he didn't for some reason. I don't know if it was to go after the girls, to enjoy his summer or just to be impulsive. So I think he was just being an impulsive teenager.
