    1) My favorite read this year was Of Mice and Men because although I have read this story for another english class and read what I thought was deep I instead saw it from another point of view that made me think about the story in a different way.

    2) The most meaningful assignment was probably the Where I am from poem because it made me look at my family and how I was brought up but through poetry.

    3) I learned a lot from Poetry out loud, one being I have to put a lot of time and effort into memorization because knowing something when your alone is different than performing in front of people. It also gave me a little more confidence in my performing skills which is important in life.

    4) I learned I need to have a great outline with all of my ideas down on paper before I start writing.

    5) I think I have become a more diligent and abstract problem solver due to all of the teaching of EQ and the important life lessons taught by none other than the all knowing wizard Mr. Rowe

    6) I just got to work on my maturity and my work ethic because I have it some areas but need it in the classroom.

The general theme of English 11 is to teach us young adults how to manage ourselves and how to think outside the box. We have been taught this through a multitude of short stories and poetry each teaching us an important life lesson or a new way to think about a situation whether it be teaching us about how hell is not a physical place but actually is brought out in others. This class has taught me how to be a critical thinker and an abstract learner and instead of taking things so literally looking at them from different angles because it can open up a lot of doors you may not have seen.

ZeFranks the teenage brain video talks about how the brain is developing during this time in a person's life, which directly affects the way they react and make decisions. This relates to Emotional intelligence because if taught when we are make poor decisions then it could potentially help us to stop and think about what we are doing before we do it. Or how to generally treat people with respect and how to manage our lives without the irrational and most of the time unnecessary trouble our young minds can get us into.

In Gogol's "The Overcoat" Akaky is a symbol for todays youth in society and how all they want is to fit in and conform because it is comfortable and socially acceptable. Hence why he got the overcoat to attempt to fit in until it was lost and he just fell right back into what he was in the first place. Society makes people think that have material items is the only way to live and it just goes to show how twisted the majority of people are nowadays.

Me and Sean's relationship is a lot like George and Lenny's except we play both roles and sometimes he's the responsible one and sometimes I am. We are both there for each other and look out for each others best even when we ourselves are not doing that.

This is true in "No Exit" because Cradeau, Inez, and Estelle all drive each other crazy with their flaws. For example Inez craves being in control and lives to see other people suffer. She points out Cradeau and Estelle's flaws and uses their faults to manipulate and mentally torture them. This causes many problems because Inez is trying to seduce Estelle, but Estelle wants Cradeau. They are all entwined in this journey through hell because they are in the same room together. I believe that if they want to succeed and reach salvation they will have to work together and get over the flaws that got them in hell in the first place.
