    My favorite book is the "40 Short Stories". There are lots of short stories help me with my reading skill. Every each of short story is varied drama of the human community. From The Lottery, I found out if you can't do it then don't even criticize it. From Metamorphosis, I learn sentimental writing skill.

    Edit 5 paragraph and write 5 paragraph. Edit other paragraph help my grammar that I could avoid the error from my essay. Creating a 5 paragraph develop my writing skill and expand my view.

    "Where I am From" is a good assignment. It bring up my old memory of my childhood. I could share my hometown to other classmate. This assignment improve my speaking and the promptly performing.

    It strengthen my writing skills and edit skill in general. Further more, it is a good way to learning grammar and creating the story. I found out lots of fun during the assignment.

    I think I became a problem solver this year. Because I have many different classes, I must manage my time in academic day. I avoid wasting my time and make my time become worth for me. I start to got rid of late homework. Moreover, I appreciate Mr.Rowe and my classmates who edit my paper. This help me a lot in my English class.

    I still need enhance my writing skill, such as grammar, run-on sentences, etc. And I should find my voice in the classroom. These are things that I am keep working on. I hope I will do better in next year.

    The "big ideas" of the literature from this year is fable for adulthood life. Each books tell us about the dark side of society, mistrust of humanity and how to face the truth of the fact. Emotional Intelligence 2.0, teach us how to suit in the community. Of Mice and Men, show us the friendship of two irrelevant friends. No Exit, display a taunt drama between the torturer, murderer and instigator.

    The videos, "Blind Melon-No Rain", "Twilight Zone-Five Characters in Search of an Exit" and " Walk off the Earth-Little Boxes", "The Teen Brain" and "The Time You Have In Jellybeans", really give me a intuitional instruction of the adulthood life. The video, "The Teen Brain" and "The Time You Have In Jellybeans", tell me I start become a young adult never stop trying and don't wasting the time.

    In the video, "The Teen Brain", ZeFrank talk about the teenagers' brain are more active than people in different age. Teenagers cannot always wait for the wise decision, because they have better creativity and their brain is brisk. Also teenagers always is an emotional reaction, they don't have enough reacting time for their active brain to respond situations that they seen. Therewith, Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves, two adults who have exuberant experience in their young adulthood life write a book, "Emotional Intelligence 2.0", teach people become a mature adult in the society. In the book, social-management and social-awareness are focusing on the socialize and influence to the other people. Accordingly, the EQ development is appropriate for the adult and teenager.

    There are two major elements in the Overcoat. The first element is overcoat represent human desire. The second element is the office where make Akaky want to buy a new overcoat.
    Gogol is criticizing vanity of the humanity. He describe a simple overcoat could a sanguine man into disconsolate man. In the beginning, a diligent man, Akaky, have nothing, but he never complain about his life. Then he desire a new overcoat, therefore he strive working to earn the money and he get a new overcoat. In the end, his overcoat is taken away. He lose not just the vanity of overcoat but also the meaning of life.
    The "Overcoat" is vanity of humanity.
    Because Akaky start his desire from the people of St. Petersburg. Therefore, he lose his own happiness and cram up with vanity of humanity. After he become a ghost, he hunt the people of St. Petersburg that subside his resentment.

    Sky is my friend who means George for me. He is very good at English and History which I was struggle with. I see some shadow that George had. He is a very steady person, but I have not. The Lennie of my hyde life is Jared. During the football season, he always asked me about order pizza and paid for him. I did order the pizza for two mouths when the football season is over. I really spent all my money for the pizza. After two mouths I didn't even have money to paid for my ticket. So I just stay in the woodstock for my Thanksgiving.

    In the story, Cradeau, Inez and Estelle are showing the really society. A small room to which three belong has dark side of the humanity, such as jealous, control others, coward, desire of sex and indifferent to others. " No Exit" does not only mind the door of the room, but also people never open their heart to trust the others. Estelle wants Cradeau, but Inez love her, and she also could control Cradeau. So none could get out off the room, because they stuck in a circle, and compromise each other. Inez need Cradeau to got Estelle for herself, but Estelle is not easy to convince. Therefore, Cradeau is the only man who feel the pressure from both side.

    In the front passage, we could see the people who shopping in the A&P was old lady and the housewife. There were none people could attract or bring the enthusiasm for the Sammy. In another aspect, A&P had nothing could let Sammy stand there anymore. So the three girl is the opportunity that make him have the courage leave with not any remorse.
    I think the motive in the last paragraph, the Sammy have no alterative leave. If he keep doing the job that he do care, it cannot bring the worth for anyone. So it may be a good ending for him that could let he try more new job. Even if he could meet one of the girl in the A&P.
