Thanks for both of your input.
1) Adding simultaneous bookmarking to Diigolet - While it's a nice add-on to Diigolet, It's not a high priority for us now (lots of cool stuff cooking under the hood :-)
2) Diigo toolbar is fully customizable. If you're short of real estate space on your desktop, you can just keep the single "Diigo" button on the toolbar. Please see http://www.diigo.com/help/toolbar/3
3) woo1018 --> "an extension for Diigo (like the first button on the toolbar) would be great if you could add it to the Navigation Toolbar like Delicious and Furl." --->> please elaborate what you mean?

I really hate spam - annoying and wasting everyone's, including their own time.
We've just added a few things that we'd appreciate our community users' help when notice spam:
1) Each bookmark now has a "Flag as spam" button
2) User - "Flag as spammer"
3) A spam control link under the footer of every single page:
-----
"Report Abuse & Junk"
-----
It is important that the Diigo environment is properly maintained. For
this, we'd really need the help of all Diigo users:
If you see any spam, graffiti or simply useless junk, please report them
by clicking that link and reporting the URL / any comment you wish
(optional)
In particular, we would like to set a high standard for a public sticky
note: unless it adds something informative and substantive to the
associated webpage, it is considered junk and may be removed.
We will continue monitoring and rolling out tighter spam /junk control
measures. If you have suggestions, please kindly share them here.
Thanks for your active support. Together, let's make Diigo a really
awesome place for all to enjoy! -
Again, like to re-iterate, if you notice any spam, please kindly flag them as spam bookmark or spammer.
Diigo reserves the right to delete any abuse / user account that we deem as spam. Each group admin / moderator also has the right to determine what to delete and who to ban from the group. -
If you notice any abuse in a group, please inform the group creator / administrator - he/ she has the right to ban the user, or assign moderator right to any of the group members.
When V3 is introduced, we will make the communication among members even easier.
Of course, if there is any issue, please don't hesitate to inform us at info at diigo dot com. We'll continue taking lots of measures - along with all our members' help, we want to make Diigo a meaningful platform where all community members can benefit from quality collective wisdom knowledge sharing.
[Discussion] Please update your user profile / avatar - 23 views

Hi everyone,
Diigo is continuing to evolve. Not only we aim to provide the best social bookmarking / annotation service, we will soon roll out more and more innovative and meaningful social features to make Diigo a rich social platform that enables new modes of social interaction, communication and discovery on the web.
As a first step, we'd like to encourage everyone to take a little time to update your avatar (a photo or favorite icon and your profile. Like to start seeing faces that we're interacting with :-)
hehe, I may want to make that as a requirement for this particular group - only those with avatar can post :-)
Please ACT NOW! Thanks -

Webware 100 Awards by Webware by Rafe Needleman. Rafe is Editor of CNET.com.
Webware 100 nomination - What are the best 100 Web 2.0 sites and services? We don't know. But you do.
The Webware 100 will be the 10 best sites in 10 categories, chosen by Webware's readers. The first step to picking the winners is nominating candidates to vote on. Use the form below to enter a site into the awards program.
The Webware 100 will have 10 categories and 10 winners.
Here's how the awards program will work:
1) Users nominate.
2) Editors filter.
3) Users Vote.
The 10 categories for the Webware 100 are:
Browsing: Web browsers, extensions, widgets, and security
Communications: e-mail, chat, VOIP
Community: social networks, groups
Data: search, storage, backup, sharing, and sync
Entertainment: Games and contests
Media: audio, video, photo
Mobile: portable utilities and apps
Productivity: apps, business tools, commerce
Publishing: blogging, web content, design tools
Reference: Mapping, reference works, and education
Qualifications for nomination:
The site must be live by May 7. It's OK if it's in beta, but it must be an open beta. The site may be entered into 1--and only 1--of our 10 categories. We reserve the right to recategorize nominations. See full legal mumbo-jumbo. Also, dates are subject to change.
Once the nominations are closed, Webware editors will go over the entries, remove the nonqualifying and duplicate nominations, and make sure all services are in the correct category. Then we'll select 25 services per category for the finalist round. We'll make sure the most important, most innovative, and most useful products are selected as Webware 100 finalists.
In late May (date to be announced later), we'll take these 25 finalists in each of our ten categories, and open up user voting on them. Users will be able to vote on one favorite product in each category. Voting will happen on the Webware site, and we also will distribute voting buttons and code to the finalists that they can put on their sites.
Voting will run until mid June (date TBA). The top 10 services in each category will be crowned the Webware 100 on June 18. We'll cover each of the services, especially the 10 category winners, and send everybody a lovely Webware 100 Winner graphic for their site. And maybe a nice plaque. -
Community is probably the most suitable category, though it's probably going to be quite "competitive".
Thanks you all. For those who haven't done so, please kindly do take a few min. of your time to help. Your voice counts and makes a difference!
Ah, nice to see loyola photo. Daniel, love to see yours, too :-) -
Thanks.
Reminder: nomination deadline is May 7 - just a few days away. Your help is very much appreciated!

inviting currrent users to be friends - 95 views

Hi amortal,
Yes, forthcoming. We have some delay in rolling this "add friends" feature because a lot of very exciting new development have been added for the enhancement. Whether to introduce them in stages or all at once, we're still deciding on the release schedule. Will advise when ready.
Yes, Eyal is right about various ways of keeping track of Diigo new announcements. Also, a little advanced preview: we will roll out some group RSS features later this week. That will make keeping track of Diigo announcements even easier :-) -
In our existing system, they must click your invite link in the invite email and go through the whole new user account creation process to be "considered" added to your friendlist. If they directly create their own account without clicking your invite link, then they won't appear on your list.
Yes, we know - It's not the most optimal design - we're working on a new system to make it easier for you to add new friends, and invite existing Diigo users to be included in your list. So stay turned. -
Couldn't agree more :-)
We've decided to release a bunch of new stuff together - since they are highly interwoven and integrated. Adding / finding friends is definitely one of them.

Hi akapisten,
A new search is basically finished and already under internal testing. We expect a good speed improvement. Its estimated public release is around end of this month.
Will post a note when ready. Thanks for your patience. -
The online / offline combination is interesting - will look into it.
We always have lots more room for continued improvement :-)
And speed, yes, understand that's important for your user experience - also something we are diligently working on continuously improving. -
New search upgraded - please give it a try

New toolbars updated for everyone - 44 views

Just did a system-wide toolbar upgrade for everyone.
Previously, a sticky note has to be tied to a highlight. Now you can also add a "floating" sticky note that doesn't have to be associated with any highlight! Hey, you can also move it around and positioned it anywhere you wish on a webpage!
Simply click new "Sticky Note" icon on the new toolbar, or in the right-click menu. For existing Diigo users, that "Sticky note" icon is actually an optional feature to avoid some potential confusion with our old system. To enable it, please go to your toolbar >> Options >> Toolbar & Menu Tab >> Add or delete toolbar buttons.
Of course, you can continue to do in-situ highlight and sticky note as usual. Now, best of both worlds available to you :-)
As always, please let us know what you think and kindly report any issues you notice. Thanks! -
Fridemar,
Thanks for reporting - noted.
Fridemar & Ollitolli,
Hey, soon you guys can "get connected" easily. Stay tuned :-)

Sorry - our engineer got tied up in another project - he'll soon look into it.
-
FYI: not being able to pull up your tags - this should be a temporary problem. We're upgrading our search now, and are re-indexing and temporarily disabled the service. It should get back-on shortly = will put up a notice when ready.
Thanks for your patience. We're taking the spam fighting seriously and looking into additional measures to tighten the filtering.
New highlight colors - 237 views

Along with new sticky note UI, we have also changed the following colors to our annotation notations:
New: Group annotation: now has its own color: pink #ffc4d8 / #990033
------
Changes:
Private highlight (yellow) - #ffff99
Private annotation (blue) - #abd5ff
Public annotation (green) - #b2e57e
-----
The new color schemes are lighter than previous version. Like to have your feedback on whether you like the new changes or not, and if not, specifically what shades of color are good. - ...2 more comments...

Adam,
Thanks for taking the time to provide us with lots of good feedback.
As a user, I can appreciate your points about customized colors. However, default color schemes not only make it easy for us to implement (I'd imagine there might be some performance issues if we allow users to dynamically customize the display - performance is something critical that we are unwilling to compromise), it also applies some consistency throughout the site when one is viewing the public annotations. Without a default color scheme, it will also make explaining to the new users how our system works even a lot more complex. For the sake of personalization for some users, wonder if this may cause a lot more confusion to majority of users... Lots of considerations needed here.
But still, thanks for bringing this up. We will discuss more in our team to see if there might be a better way of doing this.
Meanwhile, the new toolbar is up, and the highlight are shown in brighter sets of colors. -
adamgolding,
Thanks for the additional clarification. Some very interesting points you made here. This will involve major changes in our backend - will discuss with our team.

fridemar,
thanks for the suggestion. Any example of other popular groups (such as google / yahoo groups, etc.) handle such a process?
I suppose we could form another separate public group. However, I'd imagine what you're describing rarely happen. -
