Might the dataloss occur if Internet service is interrupted whilst using Diigolet?

Is it possible that Diigolet (3.1b538) continues to present the yellow of highlights without actually sending the required data to the Diigo servers?

Possibly coincidence, this bookmark is the same one that features most recently in nearby topic

It's also worth mentioning that AFAIR, the highlights were not applied in a single browsing session. Probably two or more highlighting sessions contributed to my work. At a glance:

* results of the most recent highlighting session are intact
* results an earlier session are lost.

Weird.

I wonder whether earlier, the highlights existed somewhere in Diigo service but that they were not (at that time) re-delivered via Diigolet.

I'll sit on this for a while, maybe review the duplication in a few days.

As the core of Diigo is to "Highlight and Share the Web!", so bugs like this should be top priority…

The PDF downloadable from http://www.wuala.com/grahamperrin/Documents/diigo-public/47552-001.pdf clearly and visibly demonstrates 12 (twelve) highlights that were lost.

The loss became apparent as I copied (shared) to a group:

* a number of highlights changed from yellow to pink
* a number of highlights did not change.

In this instance I opened a new window to the same URL, presented Diigolet then — with the original window to one side, yellow areas showing all the failures — in the foreground window I re-drew the missing highlights.

I've been thrashing Diigo 4.0 beta services fairly hard, carelessly applying highlights out of order then finding them in order within my library, so I'm prepared to tag this topic resolved.

@ other contributors to this topic: performance, consistency, order etc. all OK for you now with Diigo 4.0 beta services?

Really, 3.1b900 is extraordinarily unergonomic compared to its predecessors.

For the first time ever in Diigo, I'm struggling with a core feature: the highlighter pen.

In http://www.wuala.com/Diigo-4/962104 screen shots 001 through 012:

* follow the red thing, my cursor, hovering or clicking, as I chase a purple thing, sometimes a distant small speech bubble icon, which drops a menu, which draws beyond the bounds of the window so I can't see what I'm looking for, and I scroll horizontally and vertically and so on, trying, failing to see the hidden part of the menu that might show me whether a single highlight is shared with a group.

This is crazy :-(

Day 4: impressions

First round highlights feel as good as in the past, if I'm not sticking notes, because Diigolet drops its menu in such an excellent way. Please, don't ever lose that.

First round feels less good if I combine a highlight with a note. We have a separate topic about things that are wrong with the (yellow) window.

Second and subsequent rounds of annotation feel fiddly, but not enough to make me rant.

Do the pros of the additional features (a more heavyweight Diigolet) outweigh the cons (much, much slower to work with than in the past)? I remain undecided. Early days!
