D#6, HW#6-- The major part I like about wordpress is the ability to design the page the way you would like whether it be with themes or by writing the html yourself. This website is great because it gives you a lot of different and ideas about wordpress and how to use it. It explains the information and then also shows you pictures/examples.

D#6, HW#1-Design Basics: Repetition To Create Visual Themes | Van SEO Design - 0 views

  •
This website goes over and adds to some important concepts already covered in chapter 6 of the text. Added to some ideas about repetition different ways to use it and how to create it in text and images. Repetition is key to creating unity and consistency in design which is important when trying to grasp a readers attention.
  •
D#6, HW#1-- I liked this website because I have also used it a previous time for balance, so it helps when they continue one from where you were left off. It gives you the chance to see the document being used go through a complete transformation with all of the design elements. They discuss repeating colors and fonts, and then discuss about repeating aesthetics.

This site lists out 50 ways to help improve your blog, specifically for WordPress which is relevant to what we are using. It groups all the sections of WordPress and underneath those has tips to help that section. There was stuff that I didn't even know that would help improve the blog. However I'm not sure if we will get that in depth with our WordPress blog but nonetheless it's a good resource to look over.

This site gives a vast amount of information on all the options that are included in WordPress.  For an amateur to blogging and WordPress in particular this gives great overview.
  •
This article was another good one I found. Even though there are so many options it discuess but it breaks down into sections depending on what you are looking to change for your wordpress. The chunks the author chose to break these tips into are navigation, Design, Performance, Security, SEO, and other. Each section consists of 5 or more specific tips that fit into that category.

This website about 50 different ways to vastly improve your WordPress blog is helpful because it is broken down into categories. The categories include navigation, design, performance, and security. Beneath each category are a number of ways to improve your blog.

D#6, HW#6-- I really enjoyed this website for many different reasons. Firstly, for the way t is set up. It is easy to read and enjoyable. They have a main bullet point to look at, and then list and shortly describe different aspects of that bullet point. Also, it covers just about every aspect from design, to performance, to even security. It has a lot of great information!

D#13 HW#1--push fave web resource that will help you improve your Wordpress course blog: **This is a good one because it extrapolates on the "design" portion of a blog. It indicates what turns people off about blogs and how they can be more attractive design-wise. For instance uploading your photo is a big plus. It's a Do's and Don'ts on blog design so to speak.

This was my second favorite of the sites that I visited. This site shows the design mistakes that bloggers often make. It haves ten mistakes, explains why they are mistakes and weaknesses. I found this all very helpful, and I found it to be a very useful list of 'rules' to help one make a successful blog.

Deadline #10- HW#6- Video Resumes-How to: Create a Video Resume | OEDb - 0 views

  • Some companies refuse to view videos upon attorney advice, as these visual accounts might open the door to discrimination based upon your appearance, ethnicity, and race. Other recruiters are simply lazy or too hesitant to use different technologies in their search for the right person for the job. Either way, your video might end up in the garbage despite all your best efforts.
  • A video resume can get you face-to-face with that employer far faster than your print resume can in many instances. Plus, if you can't make it across the country for a face-to-face interview, a video can help bring your face to the employer.
  •
This is a great how to guide for video resume. It discusses equipment needed, what to consider before you shoot, creativity, time, legalities, production, editing, when to avoid the video resume, and editing.

D#10, HW#6-- The website is FULL of information on video resumes. It covers things from the equipment needed and how much it costs, to the time needed, and even when to use one and when not to! Really great information.
  •
This is the best site i found for video resumes because it gives you really good how to steps to make one and make it good.
  •
This website show many details on how to create a video resume that can be followed step by step to accomplish this.
  •
Very good website! A lot of information about how to create a video resume. What I liked about this is that it even provided information about the equipment that is needed to make one! It also covered the legal aspect of video resumes which the other two sites that I found did not. You have to have a consent form for every person that is in your video and this is good to know. It also states when it is important to avoid using a video resume.

D#7, HW#6-- I thought this website was useful because it had a LOT of information about copyrights and the internet. It discusses plagiarism, how long copyrights last, and even what you can and can not do when creating a webpage. Great information to know for Project #2.
  •
This web page does a great job at breaking it down simply. It explains what copyright is, how long it last, as well as what you can and cannot do with it. It specifically goes into what is copyrighted on the internet and what you can put on your page and what you cannot put on your page. This I believe would greatly benefit us for this class knowing what exactly we can and cannot do.

  • Copyright subsists for a variety of lengths in different jurisdictions. The length of the term can depend on several factors, including the type of work (e.g. musical composition or novel), whether the work has been published or not, and whether the work was created by an individual or a corporation. In most of the world, the default length of copyright is the life of the author plus either 50 or 70 years. In the United States, the term for most existing works is a fixed number of years after the date of creation or publication. In some countries (for example, the United States[44] and the United Kingdom[45]), copyrights expire at the end of the calendar year in question. The length and requirements for copyright duration are subject to change by legislation, and since the early 20th century there have been a number of adjustments made in various countries, which can make determining the duration of a given copyright somewhat difficult. For example, the United States used to require copyrights to be renewed after 28 years to stay in force, and formerly required a copyright notice upon first publication to gain coverage. In Italy and France, there were post-wartime extensions that could increase the term by approximately 6 years in Italy and up to about 14 in France. Many countries have extended the length of their copyright terms (sometimes retroactively). International treaties establish minimum terms for copyrights, but individual countries may enforce longer terms than those.[46]
