A lot of this is coded customization like how Myspace.com first use to be.

D#6, HW#6-- I really enjoyed this website for many different reasons. Firstly, for the way t is set up. It is easy to read and enjoyable. They have a main bullet point to look at, and then list and shortly describe different aspects of that bullet point. Also, it covers just about every aspect from design, to performance, to even security. It has a lot of great information!

D#6, HW#6-- The major part I like about wordpress is the ability to design the page the way you would like whether it be with themes or by writing the html yourself. This website is great because it gives you a lot of different and ideas about wordpress and how to use it. It explains the information and then also shows you pictures/examples.

How to create your own wordpress theme from scratch. Good for the really picky person who knows exactly what they want. Should be useful when combining with other tutorials on design.

This is a great resource for plugins. Since I am new to Wordpress I felt this is a great resource to get my page up and running with cool plugins. Since I am a blogger.com blogger I need resources to help me get started creatively with Wordpress.

There are so many themes that it's incredibly difficult to choose!  This site suggests going through the various view options, such as the front page view, single page view, and the comments, and them comparing how each appear. Is the sidebar present in all views or just some? Does the header change, etc.? The author of this site suggests going through and investigating every aspect of the new theme. The site also lists the various layout options and also suggests that content match theme. What impression do I wish my audience to have?

Here are some more themes--Wordpress' selection is pretty limited. Seems like a lot of people just end up using the same themes, and I think it's important to make your blog unique! (Of course, I should probably take my own advice and use one of these...).

Several of the other sites talk about upgrades of this program with plugins. This site advises against it and how to set up stronger passwords and not to link personal MySQL server to connect remotely if working on a project with another computer. So updated security is essential and avoiding 3rd party plugins can be important.
