Deadline #10- HW#6- Video Resumes-How to: Create a Video Resume | OEDb - 0 views

  •
Very good website! A lot of information about how to create a video resume. What I liked about this is that it even provided information about the equipment that is needed to make one! It also covered the legal aspect of video resumes which the other two sites that I found did not. You have to have a consent form for every person that is in your video and this is good to know. It also states when it is important to avoid using a video resume.

D#10 HW#6-Video Resume Tips - 0 views

  •
This website provides useful information about video resumes. I liked that it provided tips that will help us prepare when making a video resume. The tip I thought was important was making sure to keep the video short. It also provided a list of "don't"s. I like that it mentioned not to mix one's personal life with the professional one. I thought this was important especially because we are googling ourselves as part of our HW for Deadline #11.

DD#10, HW#5: Reports - 0 views

  •
This website contained a lot of information that just gave an overview on the basics of formal reports. It also explained how formal reports differ from an informal way of reporting information. It also split a formal report into 3 sections that I did not see in the other website I found. In this one it states that there is front matter, main text, and back matter. Each of these contains different sections within as well. Very helpful for when we have to work on Project #3!

Deadline #8-HW#4- the digital age / Numerical Representation - 0 views

  •
I thought this small webpage was very useful! I wanted to focus on the five differences that Manovich mentions. This one focuses on numerical representation. It summarizes the two main categories: the digital code created mathematically and the digital code created with an algorithm.

Deadline #8- HW#1 -Part 2: Team Writing-Constructive conflict benefits - by Peter Vajda... - 0 views

  •
I think an important part of part 2 of Team Writing is constructive conflict. I thought this website was useful because it provided the reader with the benefits of constructive conflict. I have taking a course called Organizational Behavior and they also stress that constructive conflict is important in a team. I also think it goes well with the team project we are working on now.

Deadline #7 HW #6-Public Domain-Stanford Copyright & Fair Use - The Public Domain - 0 views

  •
This webpage touched on the idea of public domain. I think it goes hand in hand with the two other websites that I bookmarked about Copyright and Fair Use. It also presented different sections that contain information about public domain in different countries, modified works, and compilations among other things.

D#7HW#6: U.S. Copyright Office - Fair Use - 1 views

  •
I liked this webpage because it went more in depth about Fair Use. It presented the four factors that can be used to determine where or not the use of the copyrighted material is fair. I thought it was good that this webpage stated that it is always safer to get permission from the copyright owner NOT the copyright office.

Deadline #7 HW#4- Team Writing-Team Charter - 0 views

  •
One of the more important things that I got out of reading Part One is the importance of a Team charter. This website just elaborates a little more on what goes into each of the sections in the team charter.

Deadline #7 HW#4-Team Writing-Team Building - 0 views

  •
Not all of this website had to do with what we read about in Part 1. However, what I found important was that it mentioned the importance of a project manager. It also discussed that meetings were important and presented different ways of non-verbal communication with our team such as emails.

Design Meltdown § Flow - 0 views

  •
This website does a good job at explaining exactly what flow is. What I like about it is that it provides example of different website and the kind of flow that they have. The arrow that the webpage author draws on the example to show the flow is very useful!

Deadline #- HW#6- 5 Easy Ways to Improve Your Wordpress Blog - 0 views

  •
I like this website because it provided good information about design. It stated that simply changing the design, blog traffic and visiting time increases. Changing the design also will help readers stay on your page and not leave if the design make the blog look ugly. This is helpful because when my peers go to my blog I want them to want to read my posts and give me feedback.

NHS Designs: Repetition - 0 views

  •
This website is useful because it not only describes what repetition is but it gives quite a few examples of different ways to use repetition in different contexts. For example, it shows how to use repetition in a business card, article, magazine, etc. It also stresses that although repetition occurs naturally, we need to get in the habit to make a conscious effort to use repetition.

D#5 HW# 1.1: Design Notes: Alignment - 0 views

  •
This webpage was helpful because it focused on alignment of images. This is beneficial because we are in the middle of reviewing and editing our comic tutorials. By placing your cursor over the images with red figures, you are also able to see the grid that was used which I thought was pretty cool!

D#4 HW#1 - 1 views

  •
What I liked the most about this website is that it was more aimed at the design that we are studying, not at artwork or paintings. It also provided real examples of images for each kind of balance. It stated the differences between symmetrical and asymmetrical balance. Symmetrical balance is used to portray seriousness and elegance, while asymmetrical is used to display a carefree look.

Balance- Principles of Design: Balance - 1 views

  •
This website was very useful! It provided a description of not only two, but three different kinds of balance. I like that radial balance was the third kind that was briefly mentioned but it was not in our textbook.

D#3 HW#1 - 0 views

I liked this website a lot as well. Instead of showing ways in which how to use contrast, it explains three ways that contrast is important. One is that contrast is attractive to the eye, the other is that contrast aids in organization of info, and finally contrast creates focus. A key point that was made that I think is good to emphasize is that "contrast elements should be COMPLETELY different, not just a little bit"

Create Contrast by Creating Obvious Differences - 0 views

  •
This webpage describes how contrast works and provides examples for four ways to use contrast in graphic design. I like the examples provided and I think it is good that they mention that contrast can be overdone.
