This site rehashes over a few of the principles of new media and gives a more visual look at them. Which is much more pleasant to me than just a wall of text!
Similar to the other site I shared, this provides plugins, not just tips. It is also organized into easy to ready categories and provides plenty of links!
I mentioned in my discussion board post about metadata editing. This is just one application, not free unfortunately, that will allow you an easy way to edit it. I would be surprised if there is not a GNU application or an Avaiay addon in development for this.
This site provides basic information on metadata, what it is and how it works. It also explains about the different types of metadata, which I didn't know before!
A great concise and easy to follow pdf that provides several tips to writing technical directions. Eliminating noise, consistant styles and wording, its all mentioned in this quick tip document.
I think that the strongest point for this website would be its alignment and proximity
-columns and rows for easy reading
-proximity, the images are all grouped together for easy reading
-repetition, images and fonts are used consistently
Although this site is in italian, it completely follows the CRAP Design Principles
-White space
-Plenty of contrast between light and dark text
-grouping and alignment
-Proximity between text, links and images
@Sarah I can't actually speak or read italian :( however, the Google Chrome browser allows me to automatically translate pages for free. So that is pretty nice :)
-Clear contrast between the title box and website content
-Plenty of white space throughout the page
-Proximity, each link is next to its proper items and all text is near its necessary areas as well
-all next is aligned along invisible straight lines and guides
-Right justified log in box at the top
-Centered graphics with constant color scheme
-Bottom group links, with constant left justified links
-Plenty of white space
