What was your favorite work that we read this year? Why
What was the most meaningful assignement? Why
What did you learn from Poetry Out Loud and "Where I Am From"?
What did you learn about the 5 Paragraph Essay?

In what way did you become a "writer, speaker or problem solver"?

What do you need to still work on?
  • Aaron Leffert

my favorite work was the 40 short stories book. they reminded me of my grandfather telling me stories before he died. he was a huge fan of Edgar Allen Poe, so The Cask Of Amontillado, was a stand out short story in my mind.

The most meaningful assignment would be the where i am from poem because its my roots, from adoption to new york city, it walks through my life. its truly meaningful.

What i learned the most is that you can express what ever it is you are feeling through your work and others. dramatic expression is key to fully portray who you are and your understanding of the text. i also learned im not half bad at writing poetry.

when it comes to 5 paragraph essays, its simple to show your argument. whatever it is, school related, work field related, it does not matter. it always works when comparing 2 subjects. personally i can see myself using them down the line in my life.

i feel as if though i broke out of my year(s) long writers blog and for the first time saw a mature writer in myself. speaker could use some work, but i think that thanks to the help i had with class speaking, it gave me the heart to get up and speak in the pa show for family weekend. Problem solvers are key and i see growth with that on a daily basis and i truly hope i keep expanding my problem solving skills in positive ways like english 11 has done for me.

i will always have a problem with reading, but its something im working on, i also need to continue working on writing and portraying my emotions. being more open to reading new things, and always have couiosity when it comes to reading , writing and speaking. not to mention being more orgonized in class, being more of a leader in the class room and finishing all assignments given to us.

I definitely enjoy the "40 Short Stories', since they all written by different author with different style, which allow to learn lots of things in different perspectives. Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis" especially was out standing from other story. I like the content of it and also the detail description by Kafka.

5 paragraph essay was probably the most meaningful assignment. It helps me to improve my writing skill and develop my process of brain-storming.

I learned more about myself when I wrote the "Where I am From" poem. It reminded me of my childhood and something that I've even forgot. Similarly, "Poetry out loud" thought me how to express my emotion within poem.

As I said above, it strengthen my writing skills in general. Additionally, it is a good way to digging deep into the story to discover the truth as well as forming our own perspective on argument.

I became more a writer this year. I stop viewing writing as a extremely miserable process, instead I improved a lot, not only on writing skill but also feel more comfortable about adding my emotion and my own opinion. More importantly, I started to got rid of some of the commend mistake that I usually made, such as grammar, run-on sentences, etc.

Speaking has always been an obstacle to me. It is something that I m working on. I don't speak much in the class and I wish I can do better next year.

My favorite work is " 40 Short Stories." There are a lot different style by different author. The one story that I am interested in "A&P" by John Updike. This story told me sometimes we need stay true on ourselves.
The meaningful assignment is writing 5 paragraph essay, it can improve our writing skills, also it can help us ready to get in the college.
I learned courage and challenge from " Poetry out loud". I found I need to improve my pronunciation and grammar fragments. And for the " Where I an From." I learned how to describe my home in detail.
5 paragraph essay in the most important thing in this term, it really help me a lot. Whatever in my life or for the academic, I can feel my writing skills improve a lot during this year.
I became a writer this year, I had writing class and English 11 class. I just write what I want and think, do not have too much worry. I thought write what I like and my friends helped me a lot. I am appreciated Mr.Rowe and my classmates during this year.
I think I need to woke on my voice and grammar. I need to speak up on the class, and ask more questions. Also spend a lot time work with American students.

My favorite book is the "40 Short Stories". There are lots of short stories help me with my reading skill. Every each of short story is varied drama of the human community. From The Lottery, I found out if you can't do it then don't even criticize it. From Metamorphosis, I learn sentimental writing skill.

Edit 5 paragraph and write 5 paragraph. Edit other paragraph help my grammar that I could avoid the error from my essay. Creating a 5 paragraph develop my writing skill and expand my view.

"Where I am From" is a good assignment. It bring up my old memory of my childhood. I could share my hometown to other classmate. This assignment improve my speaking and the promptly performing.

It strengthen my writing skills and edit skill in general. Further more, it is a good way to learning grammar and creating the story. I found out lots of fun during the assignment.

I think I became a problem solver this year. Because I have many different classes, I must manage my time in academic day. I avoid wasting my time and make my time become worth for me. I start to got rid of late homework. Moreover, I appreciate Mr.Rowe and my classmates who edit my paper. This help me a lot in my English class.

I still need enhance my writing skill, such as grammar, run-on sentences, etc. And I should find my voice in the classroom. These are things that I am keep working on. I hope I will do better in next year.

Refer to the book brings colossal to me, certainly will be "40 short stories". One the one hand it was the first reading book I get touch with, increased my interest reading; on the other hand it created more chance for me to fathom different work style from a lot famous writer.

Double entry note was the most meaningful assignment for me this year. It advanced my cognition for taking notes, let me used more rational way to read a book.

The effect which Poetry Out Lound and "Where I Am From" was how to through my work or Poetry to express who I truly am, what emotion and what kind of person I want add in.

5 paragraph essay is the work more inclined to college, comprehensively strengthen my writing ability. It was a good chance to use the knowledge I gained in the class.

I think through the accumulation and reading I have during this year, I become a better writer and English 11. Not only on the select subjects which I will use, but also learned how to let reader through my essay have more connection or relate to my emotion .

Grammar has been my long time weakness in this year, that is the thing I still need to work on. Also speak up in the class, I hope I can bring more to my class next year.

My favorite work that I read this year is Emotional Intelligence 2.0, because I learn EQ is most important part in my life. This book let me understand that I can't change anything around of me, but I can change myself and improve myself.

The most meaningful assignment would be to write "where I am from" poem, because it give me a chance to describe what is my hometown look like and share with people.

I think Poetry Out Loud practice my speaking english and understand english poetry. And " where I am from" strong my creativity of poem and write a poem in english.

5 paragraph essay is most thing we did this year. It really help my writing skill and let me clear about MLA format, also it is a good prepare for college.

English11 really give me a lot challenge in writing, speaking and problem solver. I wrote a lot essay this year at english11 and try to take risk in class(sometimes Mr Rowe cannot understand me). And answer a lot question in classes, so english11 is a good chance let me practice in writing, speaking and problem solver.

I think I still need to working on my english speaking and writing, because Mr cannot understand me sometimes that is a big problem for me. However, I also need to working on my grammar in writing, so I will practice these in summer.

1.my favorite work we did this year was EQ because I really picked up alot of things that i do now to help me when im in some situations.
    2. I think the assignment that meant the most to me was the 50 word short stories. they were a challenge but at the same time were very fun to write.
    3. Everyone are from unique places and its kinda cool to hear about the little things that are important to them and remind them of home.
    4. 5 paragraph essays really taught me how to self correct. before i came to hyde i would rarely ever read over my work before i passed it in. and that is a big part of how the 5 paragraph essays helped me.
    5. I became a speaker just when i learned to stand and deliver and command the room.
6.i need to work on getting my work done on time and doing a better job participating in class.

My favorite story is The Wall because it showed the random life and the darkness of humanity. The description of Ibbeta from scare to release tells that realize ourselves and the situation is the way to help us to get out the trap.

I think the huge amount of the 5 paragraph essay is the most meaningful assignment because it gave me a lot of practice and correct the problem of grammar and organization.

I think i learned confidence to speak English and the ability to handle the nervous. It also told me how to put emotion and deep thought into my works

The 5 paragraph taught me that the tension on details is the key to make a good essays, and revise is also important to write a good essays.

I think that I have become a speaker after the practice of poems, I am able to deliver my poem well and command the room without nervous.

I think i still need to work on my skill on details, i always make little mistakes which can bring the quality of my works down.
  • Bixi Zeng

My favorite work is Gimpel the Fool. Because I think there has some people just like Gimpel in our life. They are really good person and have forgiving heart. I think these kind of people are what we need in our society. For me, the most meaningful assignment defiantly is Poetry Out Loud. Poetry Out Loud is not only an assignment for me, but also is an opportunity for me to show my courage for english. Also I learn from Poetry Out Loud and "Where I AM From" a lot. Thorough these two assignment let me know I need to my confident and do not be fear. During this year, I kept to try new things that let me know what I still need to work on. So I tried to be a sparker in my class. Fortunately, I think I am a speaker now. Because Poetry Out Loud and "Where I am From" gave me a lot of changes to stand in front of my classmate to read my poem. For me, I think I still need to work on my writing skill and grammar.
  • Gigi Chen

my favorite work is the wall, cause that story showed me how the universe is random. People Don't know when the world will make a joke on you, and that is a really good story to ready, you can actually learn from the reading.
the most meaningful assignment we did is the 50 words story. Is fun to write a story use 50 words, you need know what is your story about and you need the correct word to use.
poetry out loud and " where i am from" is a real struggle for me, as a international student, is really hard to write a poem in english. Even that is a challenge, bur you can learn thing from there.
5 paragraph essay taught me can't give up easily. Even that is my most don't like thing to do, but i still need do it anyways.
At class i think i play the role of speaker and problem solver, cause i try to speak up in class. For writer, is i need to write a lot in english class. i try my best on this.
something i need to work on is i need to be done my homework on time. i can't be turn in homework late.

My favorite work we read this year is no exit because it show us a whole new perspective on hell and regrets. Telling me to not hold on to the past but to learn from it. The most meaningful assignment was the short stories because it was different. From poetry out loud i got a lot out of it including reflecting time upon myself and learned a lot about my unique potential. I learned how to properly write a 5 paragraph essay because of my great fabulous teacher mr. Rowe. My teacher taught me a lot about writing and projecting my voice to take control of the room and i thank him for that what i need to learn more about is eq.
  • Avery Booth

    1. My favorite work was "A&P". It is a short story that is very appealing to the teenagage brain becaquse it is based on a comment issue for us.. having a crush. We can relate to it unlike a short story like "The Open Boat"
    2. The assignment that meant the most to me was the 50 word short stories. It got me to really think about the topics that i was writing about, and to also be extra picky with my word choice! i enjoyed the challenge of being limited with my words.
    3. Poetry Out Loud and Where I'm From both taught me about confidence. Poetry out loud taught me that i have the confidence to present and deliver in front of my peers and really "get into it" with without being judged. Where I'm from taught me to have the confidence about writing about what i come from.
    4. 5 paragraph essays taught me how to be a critical thinker. When i had to edit my own papers i had to be very critical of my writing in order to actually make changes.
    5. i definitely became a speaker through poetry out loud! :)
    6. I still need to improve with my skills of being a writer. That is definitely always my weak spot when it comes to English class for me
  • Stefan El Baze

My favorite work that we read this year is "Of Mice & Men". The plot was intriguing and vividly captured many hardships of working on a farm and enduring life changes.

The most meaningful assignment to me this year was definitely the "I Am From" poem. It made me truly think about my life and my situation as well as who I am as a person on an intensely deeper note.

I was not here in the year for Poetry Out Loud, but the "I Am From" poem taught me a lot about myself that I would not have discovered without writing it. I learned that I struggled finding a middle ground between my own desires and the higher standards that my family holds.

The 5 Paragraph Essay has taught me how to compare multiple works on a deeper level while adding more structure to how my arguments are presented. It also taught me to vary the length of my sentences and not simply stick with one constant long, descriptive sentence after another.

Speaking out loud several of my works during class definitely gave me extra confidence in terms of public speaking, and writing the five paragraph essay further increased my writing skills.

I still need to work on embedding quotes and following them up with slightly deeper analysis. I also shall continue to use a more multidimensional style when writing in regards to my sentence lengths.
  • Hang Zhao

My favorite work is Hills Like White Elephants because it taught me that I have to have more concern on the people around me.

Five paragraph essay is the most meaningful assignment because it helped me with my writing and editing.

From Poetry Out Loud and "Where I Am From", I learned how to speak up and put my emotion into my performance.

I learned how to write an argument as a thesis, and comparing the stories we read with life.

Writing five paragraph essay developed my writing skill as a writer; reading my poems to my classmates developed my performing skill as a speaker; doing the Type one and two in class developed my mind in getting quick ideas as a problem solver.

I still need to work on using more words in my writing.
  • Paul Eleven

My favorite work I've read this year is the The Wall. It shines on the dark spanish civil war which I know little about, and my favorite part is the random twists throughout the story.

To me it was the Of Mice and Men 5 paragraph essay, it made me realize my potential as a writer and critical thinker.
I learned about how to manage a recitation performance, which is harder than I thought it would be.

That it needs to be very objective and straightforward. Through the process I also learned how to write a Work Cited page.

I developed my writing and problem solving skills through the 5 paragraph and type 3s, it took me a step further into the world of writing. Through the recitation of "Self Inquiry before a Job Interview," I learned to become a poet.

I need to work on my working, often I find it hard to concentrate and work on an assignment until it is absolutely due.
  • Jake Deutschlander

My favorite piece of work this was "Of Mice and Men" because it is such an iconic American piece of literature. It demonstrates a lot of themes that are relevant to many peoples lives and is easy to connect with.

The most meaningful assignment, I think was the first 5 paragraph essay because we worked a lot on it and really helped my writing and how to format a good paper.

Poetry out loud provided me with learning a lot more just about the poetry culture and how to present a poem and body language to put in while speaking to express how you view what your saying.

The 5 paragraph essay provided me with how to write a well rounded 5 paragraph essay with everything from correct formatting to ways to phrase certain sentences to have them flow. It was the most beneficial part of class I had this year.

I become a problem solver with having to learn how to deal with class and having a lot of distractions since I was in Period 6. Just learning how to put my off track attitude in the dumpster and creating an on track attitude.
  • Dow Drukker

    1. My favorite work that we read this year was metamorphosis, because i really enjoyed the theme that talks about the random cruelty of the universe

    2. The most meaningful assignment that we were assigned this year was learning about emotional intelligence, because i believe EQ is something too many people don't consider and look past

3.What i learned from doing poetry such as "I Am From" was how much pride i have in my roots, that i had forgotten through the years

4.While doing the five paragraph essay, i learned how to write a five paragraph in depth essay in a concise way

    5. i became a writer, because in my past years in high school i had never really been challenged to expand on my writing potential, but throughout this course i was countlessly challenged to reach my potential

    6. i need to work on my ability to let go of my ego, and allow my conscience to take hold of my writing
  • Maryssa Haggett

My favorite work was No Exit because I played Inez in the story and I had a lot of fun reading it out load. three cold-hearted souls are brought in the same room in hell and think that there was some mistake made. they thought that they would be tortured for enterinity, but instead they were put in some kind of fancy room.

Most meaningful was the Hikus and the short poems that we did because I found out that I can come up with some really good ideas on my writing.

What I learned from poetry out load is that when I really get into something I like, I go for it and give it all. I also learned that I can have a pretty big voice once I feel confedent enough to come and belt it out. I always have to practice.

From the 5 paragraph essays I've had a really hard time with this year. But i've learned on how to do FCA's and how to correct other peoples works that they've done.

I became a speaker by being confedent enough to show that I actually have a big voice by doing the Poetry Out Load and getting into class discustions.

I need to work on getting homework turned in on time in this particular class. I've mostly have had a hard time turning essays in. This spring semester hasn't been very good for me at all in this class. I have to work on planning my times wisely on different classes.

My favorite work we read was by far A&P because i can simply relate to sammys feeling of entrapment as a young man trying to make do in this cruel world. Filled with the basic sheep and going down this long road that never has many surprises because it feels like no one wants you to have any unexpected errors and thats where the big rebel spirit comes in from sammy. Where i am from was very meaningful it made us hit our core roots within us. Poetry out loud taught me to be more openminded and have a larger spectrum of others. The 5 paragpraph essay taught me how great and connective A&P has been.
  • Warner Raulston

    Warner Raulston

    1. My favorite work from the year, is also my favorite book: The Catcher in the Rye. I like this book because it tells a unique story about the turmoils of adolescence, and although no one can completely identify with Holden Caulfield, he always has one character trait that any teen can identify with it.

    2. The most meaningful assignment of the year, was also the most difficult for me: the Where I'm From poem. Thinking about aspects of my family, going all the way back to my family's routes was difficult, but also made me appreciate my family even more.

    3. From Poetry Out Loud, I learned how to recite a piece to an audience using intonation and tone words, which in turn, has made me a better public speaker and communicator. From Where I'm From, I learned to share more about myself with my classmates and have confidence when sharing my own personal works.

    4. From the five paragraph essays, I learned how to improve my argument style when writing not just a five paragraph, but any piece of writing.

    5. Over the course of the year, I have been able to refine my writing skills and sharpen my thinking skills, by biggest improvement has been in speaking. Learning how to change my tone, stress key sections of text, and raising my voice, has made me a better speaker.

    6. The biggest thing from English XI that I now need to work on is my communication skills. Giving feedback to my peers about their work and collaborating on group projects so that the quality of my peers' work can improve so I can help them achieve their best.
  • Nate Smith

    1. My favorite work that I was here for this year was Gimpel the fool. I found it to be a captivating and somewhat funny story with good insight on human nature.

    2. The most meaningful assignment for me was the 50 word short essays we wrote because I chose to write about somethings that i really care about and it made me think a lot about my past year and some of the opportunities I have missed.

    3. From the Where I am From poem a learned how to read and write poetry correctly. I learned how to put emphasis in certain areas and how to make poetry flow.

    4. From the 5 paragraphs essays I learned how to put my thoughts into better form. I often have really good ideas but word them poorly and I think I am grasping how to clearly state my ideas and insight.

    5. This year in English I think I became a problem solver by leading by example in class. When I first entered the class I joked around a lot with my fellow jabronis but towards the end I think I became a leader in class doing all my assignments thoroughly.

    6. What I still need to work on is putting myself out there in my writing. Often times I hold back a little bit because I do not want to reveal something about myself even if it could really benefit my writing.

1I definitely would choose No exit. It teaches me too many things about life.
The most famous quote from that novel" Hell is the other people."
if we use their way in reality. It could function its real work. It could become another quote "heaven is the other people."

We could encourage each other in a positive aspect, no more expose other's disadvantages.
    It would be practical.

2 Assignment I would like to consider is that speech on graduation, the meaning of education and explain the reason why we need to be well educated.

3 Actually that was my first time making my own poem. I was excited and happy that i could get a chance to tell everybody my story and tales in my hometown.

4The biggest problem is format. I still need focus on it. I also should have the ability to write different essays.

I guess that i have become a speaker by interacting with teachers and students.

I still have a lot that i need work on, but most important thing in my mind i am surely about is that i need build a good foundation of my high school career by doing more things that could optimize myself.
  • Austin Makris

Sad i just typed a bunch and deleted it.

    1. No exit. Because it honestly and horryifyingly yet intriguingly and eloquently portrays human relationships.

    2. Most meaningful assignment was the winter term exam No Exit essay. It was an essay I was very passionate about, and I felt my best essay of the year.

    3. From Poetry Out Loud I learned that my skills in memorizing poetry does not translate into my ability to eloquently orate it. And that wonderful poetry can be written about grapefruit.

    4. From the 5 paragraph essays I learned that how passionate I am about an essay does not always translate into how good it turns out, for better or worse.

    5. I further became a writer be resparking my interest in creative writing, particularly short stories. I became a problem solver working through the trifling obstacles put forth by english 11 class this year.

    6. What i still need to work on is my ability to eloquently orate and write my opinion of works I do not favor, or just find boring in general, even if it has a good meaning.
  • zach harrison

My favorite work from the year was Jean Paul Sartre's No Exit. I liked it because iv'e never read anything similar to it before, it was creative original, and enthralling.

The most meaningful assignment of the year, was the shot stories. I found it both challenging and fun to try and condense my ideas into exactly 50 words.

Poetry out loud taught me how to project my voice and command the room, The Where I'm From thought me how to create a story from Minimal instructions, and take a creative approach to simple questions.

I learnt how to use MLA format, and I rediscovered my hatred for essays.

I discovered how to Insert a creative touch in formal papers, this has allowed me to exprees myself even in the dullest of assignments.

I need to work on following directions, although it's gonna take quite some time.

    1) My favorite read this year was Of Mice and Men because although I have read this story for another english class and read what I thought was deep I instead saw it from another point of view that made me think about the story in a different way.

    2) The most meaningful assignment was probably the Where I am from poem because it made me look at my family and how I was brought up but through poetry.

    3) I learned a lot from Poetry out loud, one being I have to put a lot of time and effort into memorization because knowing something when your alone is different than performing in front of people. It also gave me a little more confidence in my performing skills which is important in life.

    4) I learned I need to have a great outline with all of my ideas down on paper before I start writing.

    5) I think I have become a more diligent and abstract problem solver due to all of the teaching of EQ and the important life lessons taught by none other than the all knowing wizard Mr. Rowe

    6) I just got to work on my maturity and my work ethic because I have it some areas but need it in the classroom.
  • Aidan Sperry

    1. My favorite work we read was "The Open Boat" by Stephen Crane because it was surprising and I really felt like I was out there on that dark sea.

    2. I think the most meaningful assignment for me was memorizing the poem for Poetry Out Loud, it reminded me of a simpler time when I was younger and I had a lot of fun doing it.

    3. From Poetry Out Load I learned I have a strong voice and I can captivate an audience, its just very hard for me to stay focused and motivated, but when I do I can accomplish greatness.

    4. From the "Of Mice and Men" essay I learned that a lot of works that are not related on the surface can share very similar underlying themes, its important to recognize and make these connections.

    5. I think I became a speaker this year more than I really have in any other English class, not just literary analysis but actually getting in front of an audience and delivering poetry or stories, its a very important part of literature I think. I still need to work on motivation and procrastination.
  • Rich Ramirez

!. My favorite work was "No Exit" because of the themes that Sartre uncovers and also makes his story very relatable.

    2. The most meaningful assignment was the analysis of your life in jelly beans becasue it wasn't a boxed in form of writing and I learned a lot.

    3. From Poetry out Loud I learned that you might make it to the finish line but you won't break the ribbon, this was because when I got there they told me that it was first place only.

4.Mice and Men is work that I have read over and over again and I think this time I really understood the message I think it's due a lot to the way Mr. Rowe looks at life.

    5. I have many things I need to work on but one word sums it up and it's consistency, if I had shown this trait I would have been able to be a stellar student in the class.
  • Michael Spencer

What was your favorite work that we read this year?
Of mice and men, even though i have read it five or more times it is a great story and a favorite of mine
What was the most meaningful assignement? Why
The Short Stories, as i realized again i am actually pretty good at writing when i get around to actually doing it.
What did you learn from Poetry Out Loud and "Where I Am From"?
I wasn't here for it, but it sounded like fun ;)
What did you learn about the 5 Paragraph Essay?
Not much just your style, and how you like everything done very specifically.

In what way did you become a "writer, speaker or problem solver"?
Learned how to stand and deliver and get you my work or if i didn't or couldn't i had to problem solve to figure it out.

What do you need to still work on?
My drive, and getting it quicker. As well as paying attention in class and staying attentive.
  • mlandt

my fav and most meaningfull story was of mice and men. i wrote storys and listened to critisizm and i fixed mistakes. i need to get things in on time
  • Ryan Moran

My favorite work I read this year was "The Cask of Amatillado." It was my favorite because I can relate to it a fair amount. In my life there have been times when i've taken revenge way to far thinking it would make me feel better. However in the end it only made me feel worse and guilty. The most meaningful assignment was probably talking to Joey Gauld about my E.Q scores. I leanrned a lot about myself and came to a few relaizations. The biggest one was that I need to trust people. Even though people can screw you over if you don't trust them you don't get anything no matter what and if you do theres a chance you will get something out of it and if they screw you over then it will just be like you never trusted them. I also learned how to write and edit a poem effectively. I was very bad at this before but got a lot better at it. I learned a lot about how to write an effective 5 paragraph essay. Before my thesis's would sound very bad and the whole thing would just sound terrible. Now I learned how to write a thesis that really introduces the essay.

    2. I feel the most meaningful work that we worked on was the Where I am From poems because it made us look at ourselves deeper.
    3. I learned how to speak in front of a crowd and be confident. I also learned how to use tone words.
    4. This year I learned how to better my writing and how properly cite quotes in a paper.
    5. I got comfortable speaking in front of my class and in front of large amounts of people.
    6. I need to work on getting my assignments done and in on time.

My favorite work this year by far was the book we read for honors "Famous all over town". It was an amazing book in that it let you see through the authors eyes into the world of his youth and get a real sense of what his world was like growing up. His ability to portray the plot in a child's perspective also added depth to the story.

I got the most out if the Where I Am From poems, both because putting the experiences I have with my home and family into words helped me to better appreciate them, and because sharing my poem with my family meant a lot to me and them.

I learned from Poetry out Loud to throw myself into something that might be difficult or "not my style". The experience of being incredibly nervous to get up on the stage, but doing it anyways and killing it, really helped me see the worth in not just writing something off before I even give it a true effort. Besides what I wrote above, I learned from Where I'm From that I keep little parts of the people who are dear to me and the incredible experiences I've had, and use those to grow.

I learned how to organize my thoughts quickly and effectively and put them down on paper with articulate language and clear organization.

Speaker: I went to the Main poetry out loud semifinals and presented in front of judges, contestants and some guests
Writer: I got better at analyzing abstract, philosophical works and how they relate to our lives.
Thinker: I was challenged to examine myself in terms of EQ and how my life relates to the works we've read

Rigor: I need to find the desire to succeed inside me, then apply that to my schoolwork.
