Sad i just typed a bunch and deleted it.

    1. No exit. Because it honestly and horryifyingly yet intriguingly and eloquently portrays human relationships.

    2. Most meaningful assignment was the winter term exam No Exit essay. It was an essay I was very passionate about, and I felt my best essay of the year.

    3. From Poetry Out Loud I learned that my skills in memorizing poetry does not translate into my ability to eloquently orate it. And that wonderful poetry can be written about grapefruit.

    4. From the 5 paragraph essays I learned that how passionate I am about an essay does not always translate into how good it turns out, for better or worse.

    5. I further became a writer be resparking my interest in creative writing, particularly short stories. I became a problem solver working through the trifling obstacles put forth by english 11 class this year.

    6. What i still need to work on is my ability to eloquently orate and write my opinion of works I do not favor, or just find boring in general, even if it has a good meaning.

Final Exam (3 of 4) New Connections - 84 views

New Connections Choices Traps Decisions Existential Questions.

One of the most major themes I have found throughout all of the works this year is that life is unfair. Throughout all of the stories there was a very consistent theme, whether it be death in The Metamorphosis or The Open Boat. The videos we read, while not stating this exactly accentuate this by stating you have to be careful to make the most of your life, and follow your own path.

In relation to the universe, I have learned about myself that I am not much of an existential thinker, and more of a progressive thinker thinking about what I can do in relation to events in life rather than in relation to life. The most important question is are you happy with yourself and what your doing in life, and just happy in general.

Hell is other people in No Exit because of the fact they are put in very mild for what hell is to be considered, until they start interacting with one another and the true torment of the room begins. They may 'get along' at times with a person in the room at a point in time, and perhaps even give themselves a sense of temporary enjoyment (though I doubt true happiness) but it would be at someone else in the room's expense. They are responsible for eachothers salvation or doom because they have the power to come together and get over their differences to work for a way out, or let their differences and petty instigation rip into them and cause turmoil, trapping themselves forever in each others torment.

I don't think I have something that emulates the George and Lennie relationship but I feel Max Zerrudo would be close, because in the 3 years I have known him at Hyde we have exchanged feedback, poked fun at consistantly, and given advice when it is needed or asked for. In both directions, which is why it does not really fit the George and Lennie relationship as a perfect parallel.

I believe this quote is Stephen Crane saying, if i am going to die here, why did the world let me come this far? I believe this relates to cranes worldview because it shows he believes the world is a harsh, cruel, and unfair/unreasonable place. It relates to the fate of the oiler in that even if you are the most capable, you may fail if you falter, or if you do not have a bit of good luck.

Sorry about this being so late-- I wrote it but i never actually got to posting it, so i will take whatever credit i am given.

I believe the Montressor family coat of arms represents their family dignity and how they don't take anything from anybody, the golden foot representing their riches (Being gold) and strength, and even maybe looking down as your family is above all (the foot part), and stepping on the snake/serpent in the azure field that was trying to bite you (Fortunato).

I think Sammy's actions at the end of A&P were a bit rash and not thought out, but justified in thought, if he disagreed with his manager Lengel's treatment of the girls, but probably not the best action taken.

I feel his motives for quitting his job are not respecting his manager Lengel for his treatment of women/just him as a person perhaps, after his display previously.

I interpret the final paragraph as Sammy looking back at the day and wondering if the trouble he put himself through was worth the reward he received (or lack-thereof) and then looking to the future wondering how hard it will be not having a job for steady income,
