  • Did you receive a gift of a new iPad this year? If so, you’re probably spending this holiday vacation week trying out all kinds of new apps. Here are ten that I recommend getting started with. Evernote is the Swiss Army knife of iPad apps. I use Evernote for
  • a little bit of everything from bookmarking websites to dictating notes to myself. The app automatically syncs with my online Evernote account so that I can access my notes, bookmarks, and saved files from any computer or device that is connected to the web. Learn more in the video below.

Diigo Groups is Future of Social Bookmarking | Get A New Browser - 0 views

  • I’ve been loving Diigo since I ditched Delicious a few months ago. They are constantly adding awesome features and today I stumbled on the groups feature. Basically it allows you to create a group of like-minded users (it can be public or private) to share links, comments and it has a forum baked right in.
  • This is HUGE… It allows you to create micro communities and adds much greater value to “social” bookmarking. You can be a part of multiple groups - which are often topical in nature. There are all kinds of different options that allow you to discuss bookmarks in comment threads and in a forum. There are RSS feeds for each group - so you don’t even have to join one to get some benefit. And there’s a great “slideshow” feature that will allow you to quickly lopp through the bookmarked sites.

MHS Lip Dub to "Firework" - 16 views

  •
Magnolia High School (Magnolia, TX), which happens to be where I went to high school once upon a time, created a very cool and inspiring lip dub to Katy Perry's "Firework". The quality is not amazing or high tech, but it doesn't matter. Watch the students. See how much fun they had. The sense of pride and community is almost tangible.

How does this compare with Google forms or Bravenet?
    • Lauren Mason

I think it is more user-friendly and quicker than Google forms. Very easy to use, yet many sophisticated options.

I like the fact I can get the responses emailed to me as the creator instead of just a notification email. I also like the ability to export all responses as PDF files instead of just a giant spreadsheet.
