Infos und News zu Medienkultur und Medienbildung (jetzt: joerissen.edublogs.org !!!!!): My Spurls-Newsposting have moved to http://groups.diigo.com/groups/webnews - 0 views

  • My Spurls-Newsposting have moved to http://groups.diigo.com/groups/webnews That's it, I'm leaving Spurl. I always was a friend of Furl, until their RSS-Streams stopped working for several weeks or even month without anyone fixing it. So I changed to Spurl, wich works well, but does not save a personal copy of the bookmarked site (like Furl did).I'm using Diigo since it came out, and I thougth there's no reasong sticking with Spurl any longer ... a Diigo Group for the news stuff meets my needs much better (URL: http://groups.diigo.com/groups/webnews).Anyway, who subscribes to my feedburner-stream instead of the spurl-RSS won't notice a differende. (The URL is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Medien-News).Bye-bye Spurl, and thanks for the service.

Update on Diigo « The AP @ UGA-SLM - 0 views

  • I know I put Diigo out there in front of you as a feedback medium and then backed away from it. However, in my use since then, it is holding up well. For my personal scholarship, it’s holding up really well - it saves my highlights and “sticky notes” and there’s great potential for organizing libraries of articles. I’m still using del.icio.us for general bookmarking, but I use Diigo when I really need to get down to business with an online resource. And, I can make my work private or public, and I’m learning how to navigate through that. So, I highly recommend it for this purpose.

The Power of Educational Technology: One For Tuesday 3-25-2008 - 0 views

  • Diigo seems to be a mashup of many of the best features of del.icio.us, facebook, tumblr and twitter. You can save bookmarks, share them with friends and with groups, join groups, send each other links and messages and comment on your friends' walls.

Librarian of the Internet: The Language of 'Diigo' - 0 views

  • It seems as though every day I discover new search engines, bookmarking tools other Web applications that are intended to simplify the cluttered and overwhelming task of conducting Internet research. But let’s face it, most of these resources sound great in theory, but prove less effective in practice. Yet once in awhile I come across a tool that is inviting, intuitive and actually does what its mission statement says it will. Diigo is this type of tool.
  • The catchy, quintessentially Web 2.0 name reads like a word from some obscure foreign language, but is actually an acronym for “Digest of Internet Information, Groups and Other Stuff.” Though many enter the world of Diigo in a social networking frame of mind, the networking aspect is the core of the tool and only scratches the surface of Diigo’s capabilities. For teachers, a useful feature is the “watchlist,” which enables you to know what’s going on across the network through specific tags, for example “education” tags. The social annotation feature is the best way to collect and share online information from anywhere, and you can write about that information with the blogging feature! The first characteristic I look for in any tool designed to enhance productivity is usability; will using this save me time and effort? Diigo passes the “usefulness test” with flying colors. Plus, it has all of the information that’s important to you and allows you to share it with others educators. Perhaps this is what the author of the blog I’m Not Actually a Geek meant when he said, “It has changed the scope of what it means to be social.”

Calling all Diigo users - 0 views

  • Diigo has long been a favorite tool of mine for bookmarking and collaboration. Diigo easily passes my criteria for adding a tool to my toolbox. The tools I use have to do a number of things beyond basic stability and usability: 1. Save time by automating manual stuff, or taking advantage of work I’m already doing. 2. The tool or mashup has to be easy and quick to use. One or two clicks, less than 30 seconds. 3. Foster real connection, collaboration and participation. Now Diigo has added another reason to love them, integration with Wordpress, (and other blogging platforms).

Graham, that's good. Using Firefox as default I had forgotten about that one. Maxthon3 is built on a totally different engine so it may and may no longer apply.

When I bookmark a page with the text highlighted, only part of that text is clipped into the description and stored on Diigo. Obviously, I'd like to be able to save clips of any length.

Highlight (diigo V4 help) - 1 views

  • Another way to highlight with Diigo is to turn your mouse into a highlighter pen:  Click the Highlight button on toolbar (without selecting text first).  When the highlighter pen is enabled, that Highlight button will become a Highlighter to indicate its status change. You will visually see your mouse becoming a "highlighter pen"
    • Vipas Suktavornprasit

(Not sure whether this is a design) To enable highlighter pen without having toolbar enabled: - Locate an existing highlight. - At its Diigo menu icon (call-out icon at beginning of the highlight), right-click (mostly this works especially when there is sticky note with highlight). - Choose "Bookmark and Highlight": let the dialog pop up and do not click [Save], just cancel it and now we'll get highlighter pen! To disable highlighter pen, repeat this procedure again.
