Haven't heard from anyone, so I'm reposting this info. If anyone can help, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any guidance anyone can provide.

Does the workaround make autologin work? I already changed the rdf file from FF3.1 to FF 3.5 b4, but that didn't make the auto login work.

If there's something more to the workaround, could you please provide me a link to it. Thanks!

I have had Nightly Tester Tools installed since the first betas for Firefox 3.0. It doesn't fix whatever problem arises from Diigo's interaction withe Firefox 3.5 Beta 4.

What I don't understand is why login credentials are not included in Diigo's options/preference settings, thereby providing for permanent inclusion of user login info in the Diigo settings file instead of (apparently) relying upon stored cookies as the vehicle for storing user login info. Cookies are a much less reliable storage medium.

    Graham,

Thanks for your responses. How do I get someone from diigo to address this issue. Autologin worked. For firefo rmd thru beta 3.3
Final release for 3.5 will be sometime this summer, so diigo will have to address it soon anyway, I would think. I don't really care how diigo does it, but Mozilla itelf uses a stored login/ password for its Weave extension, Google does same for Google toolbarn StumbleUpon does same for its toolbar, AccuWeather does same for its extension, etc.
Apparently all these vendors find it acceptable from a security perspective to store passwords locally.

    Anyway, thanks for your help,
Jim McClintock

ie7 will not open after diigo 3.0 toolbar has been installed - 129 views

diigo ie7

    Hi,

Installed Diigo 3.0 toolbar in Firefox 3 Beta 5 with no problems, been working fine for over a week. Tried to install Diigo 3.0 toolbar for IE7, but IE7 will not even load after installing it and reports a problem with Diigo. Any suggestions for troubleshooting? Tried searching the forum first, but search doesn't bring up relevant posts in first two pages; after that, I gave up on search as means for finding help in this forum.

    Thanks,
    Jim

Thanks for the quick reply Joel. IE 7 wouldn't even open, so I had to uninstall the Diigo Toolbar and clear out the remaining Diigo registry entries before it would open. The other toolbars I have installed in IE7 are the IE Dev Toolbar and the latest Google Toolbar; other add-ons include IE7 Pro, Fiddler 2, Send to Mindjet MM7, Send to OneNote, Adobe Reader Helper Extension, Adobe Flash and Sun Java. The only other data I can provide are these two application error event messages:

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16640, faulting module DiigoToolbar.3.0.49.dll, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x0005da5b.

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16640, faulting module DiigoToolbar.3.0.49.dll, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x0005288e.

I know that's not much, but that's all I got. Any further suggestions?

UPDATE! I thought the issue was solved, but it was not. Here's what's happening: upon installing Diigo 3.0 it works fine until IE 7 is closed and reopened, then I get the error message noted above. If I disable Diigo, IE will load fine, but re-enabling Diigo leads to the same issue upon the next re-opening of IE. I turned on Windows Error Reporting, which prepares 4 files for analysis of the problem: appcompat.txt, manifest.txt,iexplore.exe.hdmp and iexplore.mdmp. All but the manifest.txt file are too large for posting.

Please let me know how to proceed in resolving this problem, as I think y'all have knocked it out of the park with the 3.0 version and want to get it working in IE as well as Firefox.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Joel,

Never mind. I reinstalled it after writing that last post and everything worked and is working like a charm. Thanks again for your very prompt offer to assist.

    Jim

Hey Joel, I'm on Windows Server 2003 SP2 (development server), but you can use XP as a proxy (at least in terms of supporting a browser extension, unless there's something really unusual about the extension.

If there is, i don't see it. I don't want to search "All Bookmarks" or "My Bookmarks", only the forum posts.

I have the same problem, and from prior research on the forum, know that others do also. Also have seen "maggie" say that it will be resolved in next upgrade - more than five upgrades and 6-8 months ago. So, I don't have any confidence in you saying that same thing again. It also doesn't sound like Diigo has a clue as to why how this no_tag gets created or why it cannot be deleted.
