Workaround

1. delete all diigo cookies
2. sign in to Diigo

A link from within a group at 'My Groups':

* refers to the bookmarked page, without Diigo
* fails to present the contributor's content

Suggestion

Links should refer to a Diigo Meta group view of the bookmarked page.

Colleagues clicking on this will have no idea why it is a recent item.

Need to provide Diigo content, not take the user away from Diigo!

At the moment, there are eight floating, some of which are very obstructive.

AFAICT in Diigo 4.0 beta, handling of

character within URLs improves the ability of Diigo to bookmark some types of page. At least:

* compatible with Google Gmail
* partly compatible with Google Wave.

The examples with my name, or my UID number, are not intended for general consumption. (AFAIK the scripts can do no harm, but users will be more interested in their own views of things, than mine :)

I'm discouraging annotated links until after the missing comments issue is addressed.

The meta ones could be useful, if end users understand that they must manually add (for example) their own user name or group name to the tail of the URL. I know of no way to programatically do that sort of stuff with Diigo.

Feel free to experiment!

Not really a Diigo question but here goes.

For pages such as
http://meteorserver.org/
where some texts are difficult or impossible to select,† does anyone have any handy hints for easing/enabling selection?

I sometimes use the Develop menu of Safari to temporarily Disable Styles, then select, then re-enable styles, then click the highlight button (Diigolet 4.0b14) but it's a bit long-winded.

Any other suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Previous workaround (refresh the page, to gain a less obtrusive advertisement) is not working for me today.

The much more fiddly (less intuitive) workaround is to alt-tab (in Safari in Mac OS X) until you reach the hidden link to flag as spammer.
