i am a new user to diigo, and so far i find it Very interesting.
something I have, however, noticed is that the site is a bit slow to load. is the servers experiencing high load these days? or is this just random? :)
best,
Raymond M. Kristiansen ps: what is diigo's "business model"? premium features at some point?
Although it has improved over time, I've always found Diigo and Furl to be somewhat slow. If you want to see a notable difference with a similar service, try out Ma.gnolia or even Yahoo's or Del.icio.us.
While it's not a simple comparison, since Diigo is the most feature-rich and complex system compared to all, performance indeed is something that we're keenly aware of and working to improve.
What would be helpful is to provide us with more data/ metrics - which areas you found particularly slow.

That i can understand Maggie, and i do believe you have a good point there. Fact is, basic search for example is much speedier in Ma.gnolia or Yahoo Bookmarks. But, all things considered, i can live with it. Not sure how people on dial up feel about it (if they're still are out there).

Québec City.
Just did a few searches and things went just fine. Experience shows me that insome parts of the day webpages come in quicker than others. It's early a.m. here so I'll try a bit later throughout the day to see if there are any major differences.
Me thinks an apology is in the order of things. Have just tested again the search feature and i can't believe how quick the results come around! I can't figure it out... it's just mind boggling! Isn't it always like that? You want to show a point to someone, your computer fails, the connection is slow etc. etc.?
Oh well! My appreciation and confidence for Diigo and support team has just been strengthened.
Just sent in a link to a video clip where i noticed a Diigo window used in the presentation. Hope this can help me to make up some way for my all to quick posting here...

-p.s. having reflected a bit on the reason why i posted here about this speed issue, i recall many months ago having tried to perform searches on Diigo and found it to be much slower than it is today. At that time i decided to add bookmarks to other services and use them to make my searches. I kept using Diigo because i enjoyed the different options available, the easy way to add/edit existing bookmarks and... the Support team that showed an uncommon interest in helping users out.

One of the typical cases seems to occur while viewing profile pages of those users who use +1000 different tags for their bookmarks. Loading the tag cloud may drive my web browser dumb for a while.

Could you tell us your location and the specific URLs you found slow ?

===> Maybe, it's still an open question :)
