These ads are good examples of the emphasis and visual hierarchy we were talking about. In most of the ads there is a prominent text, which your eye is drawn to first, followed by smaller text, or images, that you look to next. This helps get your attention first, and then you read the rest of the ad, just like they hoped you would. 

I really like this site because it gives you step by step instructions on how to effectively grab your audience's attention and create a successful ad by using "format" as mentioned in chapter one of our textbook. 

This webpage demonstrates balance in order to create a visually pleasing aesthetic for the reader. The information that talks about the article is centered aligned. If one were to remove the ads and links to other articles it would send this page out of balance. However,the links and ads add a symmetric balance to the page, which gives a more educational and formal feel to the article. 

In this ad, the concept is very simple yet the message behind it is truly deep. This I believe is due to the contrast of the white and red as well as the emphasis of the color white.  The flow of this ad really comes through in the type of font that it was created in. The script makes it flow with the reader as they read the word efficiency

This site offers 110 suggestions made by actual bloggers on how to improve a blog! While a number of them cannot be applied to my course blog (I'm not collaborating with anyone else, for example), there was still plenty of relevant advice. Even though I am given the topics to cover, I can still let my own personality come through. This relates to the course outcome of performance; a blog needs to feel like it was written by a human being and not by a robot.  I could also start adding videos that contribute to my audience's understanding. I know that the sample rhetoric on the town assignment included a video of the advertisement the student had analyzed. Another good suggestion is to break up the paragraphs, which I try to do, or use bullet points. Another blogger suggests using subheads.

I chose to browse through this website because of my interest in photography. What kept me scrolling through this page was the intensity of photo shop tricks they were explaining. I would have never thought there was that much to adding contrast to pictures! I will definitely use some of these tips in the future.

This webpage is dedicated to giving tips and tricks to creating "perfect" asymmetry within a design. When trying to create asymmetry do not put any text or object in the direct center or corner of the page. Also, make sure to start with a few large objects and keep them different proportions for added interest.

This is a website that gives us 10 tips on making out WordPress blog better. It shows me many different things that I didn't even know I could do to my blog.

This was a helpful website because it provided tips on improving the theme of the blog. It also provided codes such as for adding multiple widgets. I thought this was helpful because our homework asks us to add widgets.

One of the reasons WordPress is so popular is because of its flexibility. Designers, developers, and bloggers have plenty of options. This page has it all! Aside from just telling an explaining what we can do it provides screenshots so we get an idea of the "trick" to see is we might want it. This offers help anywhere from blog rolls to navigation to addding sideshows and tabs to your page. VERY resourceful.

This article is good because it provides tutorials on how to improve your blog.  For example, there are descent free magazines themes or you can build your own.  Also it gives techniques for seo and plug ins.  

Here is another site that points out some useful tips of web page layout. This one mentions using white space, and making sure a web page is not too busy(which is very important).

They are forming new publications on the internet because it is cheaper. He discusses how the internet is the same, we are just adding new things to make our lives easier.

This blog is a good resource for tips on making an impressionable resume video. It provides samples of good quality resumes and gives you specific tips on what to do and how to dress. It also has examples of poor tapes that seemed like it was a joke. Overall a great blog site with helpful hints.

This website is very helpful when it comes to building up your resume.  It gives you tips on what you should include to have chances on getting an interview and what not to do.  It also tells you where to upload your video and how to promote your video.

I really liked the layout they gave for an example of balance. It shows a great way to organize all of your information and still have it professional

Typography, the art of arranging type, type design and modifying type glyphs, is often considered as a major part of promotional material and marketing. If you use typography properly, you can not meaningfully convey the message, but also strengthen the brand of your company.

I found this site on how to write instructions in 7 easy steps to be very simple and helpful. The first to writing instructions according to this site is to take a step back and write as though the people have zero knowledge of the subject. It wants you to know exactly what your trying to teach/get across without putting too much or too little info. After this creating an outline is a good idea before just starting your project with no plan. The next two steps according to this site are to make your instructions easy to understand and make them brief as well. Lastly they suggest the use of visual aids, such as videos or diagrams, and to give it a test drive to get out any kinks.

I like these tips as well, they are very similar to the previous one that I had posted only it had a few more points added with tips like adding visual guides. I am more a visual hands on type person so that was a great tip!

Some more great tools although similar to the other one that I bookmarked. This one is short and to the point.

In this website it discusses various ways to make your WordPress blog more of an official website. It explains what to do and why such as customizing your own sidebar so it stays consistent. Or adding a deorganizer plug in so your blogs have more clean permalinks.
