Remediation - 0 views

  •
This is a writing from Jay David Bolter and Richard Grusin that defines remediation, hypermediacy and immediacy. It has very good descriptions written in a way we can relate to by bringing in examples that are familiar to us like the movie Jurassic Park and the Pathfinder landing on Mars.

How to Make a Video Resume for Job Search - 0 views

  •
Finally I find a halfway decent site with information on how to do a video resume. This includes some information on both doing the video yourself and paying to have someone help you with it. Good information though as you make your own.

how to write a formal report - 0 views

  •
Great site on how to write a formal report. It is easily understood and each paragraph gets right to the point of what needs to be included in every heading. I'll use this information and it is a great refresher for those of us who haven't written a formal report in years.

Characteristics of new media in the Internet age - 0 views

  •
This is a good informative site with many different subjects that have to do with new media including talks about copyright rules which we were just reading about. I think that I like this site above the rest that I have seen for its information.

The Public Domain: How to Find & Use ... - Stephen Fishman - Google Books - 0 views

  •
This book covers copyright rules for everything from writings to music and even to maps which was something that I hadn't seen or even thought about. I have not read the book but glanced through it and it looks easy to understand and is packed full of information.
  •
I'm all about the easy when it comes to books like this and after glancing through this material, it not only looks easy to read but also easy to understand. It gives very good descriptions on public domain and makes it clear enough that you know exactly what it is talking about.

I think this site is very good with it's direction as far as the flow of your paper and improving it. I like the fact of making sure the topic sentence is done correctly and that you actually have one. I also really like the list of transitional words at the end, I think I will print this off and keep it.

Wordpress Tutorials Ep. 8 -- Creating a Sidebar Widget That Displays Links Filtered By ... - 0 views

  •
I really like this tutorial, it gives some really good information with easy to follow instructions. He walks you through the 'how to' information at a pace you can easily follow.
  •
I picked this site to share with the group since it has a lot of really good information and walks you through it at a very good pace.

Repetition as an Advertisement Technique | Small Business - Chron.com#loopBegin#loopBeg... - 0 views

  •
There is good information in this one but it really seems to be focused on selling, selling, selling which still uses the repetition techniques. More of the same but not as much detail information like our book gives or like I have found on the previous sites I've listed.

D#5 HW#1 The Power of Alignment | Webitect - 1 views

  •
This site gives some interesting views on alignment and some examples that I'm not sure I like. In saying that though I really do like some of the notes for instance, that there are many points to align to on a layout. It also is much nicer to use color contrast and other features along with the alignment.

Colour schemes and design mockups - W3C Wiki - 0 views

  •
This has a section on alignment and a very good section. A lot of it is what we learned in the book but I like how this person has described certain points about alignment and asked his/her own questions with answers. Easy to read and understand!

Is Your Web Design CRAP? - Pingable :: Everything Wordpress | Pingable :: Everything Wo... - 0 views

  •
This is a little different and to be honest there isn't too much good information on any of the design principals but a good way of remembering what you need to include. If you click on the 'vitamin features' under each design heading it brings you to what I think is the original site and that too is a little different but I thought I would include these.

Great Site! I think this site has great information probably the one I like the best out of all that I have looked at.

Advertising and Persuasive Strategies: Bandwagon Appeal, Repetition, Association, & Oth... - 0 views

  •
This has very, very little information about repetition but what it does say is very good and it does apply. It states different reasons to use repetition and things that I hadn't thought about, good to read even if you only read the little blog about repetition.

Balance in Graphic Design - 0 views

  •
DD #4 HW #1 This article has great information about design with very nice examples. Some of it I was surprised that they were talking about balance because I didn't really see it that way but in reading about it, it makes more sense! I thought this was great information.

Principles Of Good Design: Balance » SitePoint - 0 views

  •
DD #4 HW #1 The descriptions of balance were very good in this article, I especially how balance was compared to a see-saw. In reading these descriptionsthough, it makes me think that my Rhetorical article was asymmetrical not symmetrical. Guess I'll have to read over and make sure I am thinking the correct way!

Layout :: Create Your Poster :: Creating Effective Poster Presentations - 0 views

  •
DD# 4 HW#1 Although this is a short reading on not just balance but writing/creating an effective poster I thought it was a very good one and gave some great ideas to follow. For example, we are taught to read from top to bottom and from left to right and you shouldn't go against the grain when creating your poster.

DD# 3 HW #1 (b) - Contrast - 0 views

I know this is directed more to posters but it has the same ideas and tips that are very helpful in deciding what is most important and how to present to draw the most attention.

Rule Three: Contrast, Contrast, Contrast | GoMediaZine - 1 views

  •
I really like the examples in this site talking about contrast. I like the fact that they mention making it grayscale and seeing how it looks that way. What a good way to tell if it is going to be too much or too little contrast and will it be readable!

DD# 3 HW #1 - Contrast - 0 views

This site has a chapter describing contrast in a outline form. It is easy and quick to read and has all the vital points included.

The Small Print: Writing User Interface Instructions - 1 views

  •
This site is very specific to writing instructions, some very good advice and much more detailed than the previous two sites that I listed. Even though I like the brief sites, I also like the amount of detailed information this one give you. I recommend this site!
  •
This site contains some really good tips on writing instructions. Several points to follow and pay attention to.
