Testosterone therapy lowered HgbA1c in poorly controlled Diabetics.  These patients were followed out to 52 weeks.  Testosterone therapy, as is lifestyle change, a long term strategy of Diabetes control.  Studies in controlled Diabetics have not shown a reduction in HgbA1c consistently.  Total cholesterol and waist circumference were also reduced.

Low Serum Testosterone inversely associated metabolic syndrome in men.  This study was conducted in the Ikaria islands.  No association was found with women and Testosterone.  In men, Testosterone was inversely associated with waist circumference, hs-CRP, insulin, and HDL.

Observational study finds BMI increase of 0.375 in both men and women per year.  The waist circumference also increased by 0.37% per year in women compared to 0.27% in men.  There was a significant reduction in physical activity over the same time period.  In women, the reporting of physical inactivity increased to 52% FROM 19% compared to 44% FROM 11% in men.  The authors found no association with change in calories.  However, an assessment in quality of calories would have likely shown a glaring difference.  Clear causation can not be concluded due to the fact that the study was observational.

Waist circumference and triglycerides correlate with serum uric acid levels.  Men in this study had higher hyperuricemic rates compared to women.  Elevated uric acid levels were associated with increased MetS in both sexes and higher normal uric acid levels were also associated with a higher risk of MetS.

In study of 220 Korean mean, there was only a small decline in total Testosterone in men followed from 2002 to 2011.  The change amounted to 0.8% annually.  The level was 18.1 nmol to 17.8 nmol.  TT was inversely associated with BMI, waist and glucose.
