    eminário Acesso Aberto ao Conhecimento. Descrição: Debate com o doutor em Direito Civil pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Uerj) e consultor da Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública Sergio Arouca (ENSP/Fiocruz), Allan Rocha de Souza e o pesquisador da Universidade do Minho (Portugal), Eloy Rodrigues, durante o Seminário Acesso Aberto ao Conhecimento. Esse é o segundo seminário que a ENSP realiza para debater o acesso livre ao conhecimento científico. O primeiro ocorreu em abril de 2011, na abertura do ano letivo, e reuniu especialistas nacionais e internacionais para discutir questões como os impactos do acesso aberto na produção acadêmica, as mudanças na comunicação da divulgação científica e a inovação no ensino. O segundo discutiu o processo institucional que resultará na adoção de uma política institucional de informação baseada nos princípios do Acesso Aberto na ENSP. I found this link on a Finland Summit of Open Knowledge and found interesting presentations, specifically the Prime Minister's presentation which I recommend listening. I am from Guatemala, and I really appreciate serious and intelligent gov. leaders who have more than politics on their heads.

    This is a really excellent article! Access to the public domain and to the things that are in it (or should be, but never are) is at the root of my interest in copyright. I do wish there was more information about how we can fight back, if that's even possible. (I also appreciate the link to the Public Domain review in the article, and that the Public Domain review has a Tumblr. Something to investigate for my final project!)

    Thank you for sharing the resource on library statistics. The site attracted my attention first of all because it is a Scandinavian resource. The material contains lots of useful theoretical and practical material. In the introduction the author states "It contains a number of research papers, but the framework is different. This is collection of texts, tables, graphics and links that are aimed at the people who actually run libraries." Statistics is a useful tool if used correctly and wisely. It may inspire changes and innovations and also measure the importance of changes. Besides, collection and interpretation of statistical data also changes with the course of time. The author has very clearly explained library statistics with good examples. .

    This is a great resource if you are interested in how things like publication strategy, data management, dissimenation, Open Access, DOAJ list, etc. discussed and applied in the Netherlands at one of the top research universities. This is a blog. It has been written and maintained voluntarily by a bibliometrician, who has been working at Wageningen University Library over 7 years. Posts and themes are in English They are very well written and structured. At the bottom part of the Home page you can find Categories, Recent Comments, Keywords, and Archive - they are very well linked and make search and navigation easy. Another bonus is that every post/article supplied with international and local references, which gives this source depth.
