      Maybe some confusion? A single snapshot comprises an HTML file and a PNG (screen shot), both cached. The snapshot page defaults to an HTML version. Texts within HTML cached copies are indexed, and can be searched; and cached HTML content is used for the underlying part of an annotated view, but: * it is not (or should not be) possible to draw new Diigo highlights across cached copies.

      Lists are not a new feature. Maybe the feature is easier to find and conceptualise since it is aligned with My Library.

      It's because of Diigo, I might switch back to Firefox because I want the full menubar features.

      Very nice. I was wondering the other night if there was an app for Diigo. Will it have annotation capabilities? That might be a lot to ask.
  • Whether you are a consumer researching products to buy, an individual investor researching stocks on the Internet, a teacher gathering materials, a student group collecting information for a group project, a PR professional collecting client-relevant information, a recruiter scouting for talent, or a workgroup staying on top of competitive intelligence, Diigo can dramatically improve your productivity.
  • Now, if you only these niggling things can be added/fixed in the Firefox toolbar: - Different sort order for different tags/lists. - Complete, scrollable list of bookmarks under each tag/list, not just last 20 or so. - Option to open bookmarks in a new tab. - Tags/lists now overflow with no way to get to tags/lists that are hidden out. - Better sidebar with full tag browsing (like the Delicious plugin). I would highly recommend looking at the Delicious plugin for Firefox - it addresses these issues and is the main reason why I haven’t moved fully to Diigo yet.

      Annotations need to be URL-based as TrailFire does it. You can click [1] and you get ample annotations. In this case a snapshot of the whole page, of which I am the author. In wikis longer contributions are not the exception. So please get rid of the 5000 words barrier.

  • First, the option to look up people in different ways such as their real name, user name or how they tagged something allows for better networking.  I also am very impressed with the idea of lists.  Although, I am still trying to figure out how to implement them, I am excited that this would be a great tool for the classroom use for research and or sharing.  In addition, I have just spent hours trying to figure out the snapshot feature.  I think I will break down and watch a tutorial.  However, I truly like to try to figure things out on my own. It seems to me I am just hitting the surface of Diigo.  Delicious does not seem to have as many bells and whistles.
  • I have always liked Social Bookmarking.  I wish we could get more teachers to network and therefore share tags.  If you had a set of tags that were standard, you could easily create websites that coincided with curriculum, standards and which time of year they were for.   Social Bookmarking is a great way to collaborate and find some great treasures.

  • Unclutter your mind. I’m all for not having to remember tech tutorials or the tour company we used in NYC, bookmarks allow me to archive that knowledge. They are my digital library.
  • Your browser enables you to save a link, place it in a folder, and possibly add a few tags (which you probably don’t use). Can you annotate a link? How about highlighting a portion of the page? Does it take a snapshot of the page? Will it create lists? Generate reports? How effectively can you search your bookmarks? How much more useful and complete would your links become with these tools?
