    Vitamin D3 replacement was found to decrease fasting glucose, decrease insulin, increase insulin sensitivity, and decrease total cholesterol and LDL in pregnant women with gestational diabetes.  The dosing here was 50,000 IU x 2 doses taken 3 weeks apart.

    Chronic prostattis in men associated with prostate cancer.  Even more concerning, is the increase in high Gleasons score prostate cancer.  This is no surprise as inflammation will increase aromatase activity in the prostate which will increase estrogen production which has been shown to be carcinogenic.

    Elderly individuals with the lowest normal TSH values were found to be associated with increased depressive symptoms.  These patients were clearly not hyperthyroid.  This fits with other data that points to increased inflammation and reduced TSH levels.  Increased inflammation is associated with increased depression.
