    This study, small pilot, showed that they were able to lower inflammation in those suffering from RA, through high dose vitamin C IV therapy. This study stopped at 25 gms. The vitamin C is a scavenger of ROS and ROS stimulates inflammation through NF-kappaB. This is how vitamin C can reduce inflammation.

    2012 study that shows a slight uptick in sperm count/concentration in Danish men.  However, as the conclusion states, on 25% have optimal sperm quality.  When you look at the numbers deeper, the current general population sperm count/concentration was lower than that of men of infertile couples from 1940-1943 cohort.  Additionally, when the general population sperm count/concentration was lower than that of compared recent fertile men.

    Bulbine natalensis Baker stem found to increase Testosterone by up to 350% in animal studies in 2 weeks.  The dose with the optimum response was 25 and 50 mg/kg, with the most best effect at 50 mg/kg.  LH and FSH production was increase but exact mechanism not discussed.  Only abstract available here.

    this study revealed symptom improvement with hydrocortisone treatment in those with CFS. Pre/post treatment was with serum cortisol and not salivary cortisol.  This is a weakness of the study.  The starting dosage of 25-30 mg hydrocortisone is high and with inadequate evaluation, this high dosage could have resulted in high dosage and adrenal suppression.

    The majority of people with PTHP after TBI remain undiagnosed.  The current thought, is that 25% of those with TBI have at least one pituitary hormone deficiency.  It does not have to be total pituitary failure.  Deficiencies can be isolated.

    Very nice study.  The authors looked at normal prostate, early disease and late stage prostate cancer.  The authors found that ER beta expression, as a general rule, was lost as progression occurred to the high-grade dysplasias and grad 4/5 carcinomas of the prostate.  Early low/moderate dysplasia was associated with an increase in ER beta--the authors propose that this was due to an attempt of the basal epithelium to counter the paracrine effect of ER alpha.   In contrast, androgen receptors appeared to be equally expressed across all.
