    Dysbiosis is commonly found in children with ASD. Antibiotics disrupt the normal gut microbiota resulting in dysbiosis. This imbalance in gut bacteria is now known to cause systemic inflammatory states such as metabolic endotoxemia. There is no reason to think a similar link may be present between Gut inflammation and ASD

    Vitamin D deficiency may play a role in autism.  Though this may seem logical, through NF-KappaB inhibition, the mode of protection may be more in pregnancy.  I believe that the in-utero environment is setting up our children for increased ASD rates.  Then add in the manner in which we treat our children as infants with massive vaccinations.

    900 mg of NAC over short 4 week course provided significant improvement in behavior of children with autism.  No pre treatment evaluation was performed.  One wonders if therapeutic therapy was actually undertaken if the results would have been better.  NAC is a precursor to Glutathione production and detoxification compromise is common place in autism.
