This NOFO will support achievement of national targets for 2018 antiretroviral therapy (ART) scale-up towards the UNAIDS Fast Track Targets in Ukraine. The recipient will implement innovative and effective recruitment and case management models for persons who inject drugs (PWID) and men who have sex with men (MSM) at the community level. These innovative changes will increase uptake of HIV community based testing and increase ART initiation for these populations. The recipient will pilot risk network-based testing using point-of-care recency assays to link recently infected PWID to care. The project will focus on the six regions with the highest HIV burden (Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolayiv, Odesa, government controlled areas (GCA) of Donetsk, Kyiv City, and Kherson) and continue to work in six additional medium burden oblasts (Cherkasy, Poltava, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovohrad, and Kyiv). The recipient will also increase the capacity of the Government of Ukraine’s Center for Public Health (CPH) and regional monitoring and evaluation (M&E) centers specialists to conduct data analysis using statistical software and build institutional capacity to conduct economic evaluations of HIV interventions. Illustrative strategic information (SI) activities include development of trainings to support the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the newly established CPH in using statistical software, routine analysis of surveillance data, study design, and research protocol development.

Through this announcement, the Administration for Children and Families solicits applications from public or private non-profit organizations, including community-based and faith-based organizations, or for-profit agencies within a community that wish to compete for funds that are available to provide Head Start and/or Early Head Start services to children and families residing in the Municipalities of Anasco, Las Marias, Maricao, and Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Funds in the amount of $7,854,600 annually will be available to provide Head Start and/or Early Head Start program services to eligible children and their families. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to provide up to $40 million in total USAID funding over a period of five-years. The purpose of the activity is to increase utilization of FP services through universal health coverage. It will be accomplished through: 1) strengthening capacity to more effectively train medical providers and community health workers in FP in both the public and private sectors; and, 2) focusing and expanding public sector FP information and services to high need groups such as adolescents, youth, newlyweds, and postpartum girls and women. The results this activity will achieve include: 1. Increased qualified FP workforce in public and private sectors, and 2. Increased availability of public sector FP outreach contacts and services, particularly for adolescents and youth.

Objectives: To build on Mission India's existing Emerging Leaders Engagement Strategy (a strategic priority for Mission India) this program aims to strengthen our engagement with the next generation of India's emerging youth and political leaders. The core objective of this program is to invest in the next generation of Indian leaders and to provide a platform for youth to identify and discuss global political and economic trends related to the U.S.-India bilateral relationship. Additionally, the program goal is to build/create network of leaders and mentors, with whom the U.S. Mission can engage to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, through an exchange of experience, information and expertise. The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U.S. Department of Labor announces the availability of approximately $6,000,000 total costs for up to three cooperative agreements of up to $2,000,000 total costs each to fund technical assistance projects to improve the capacity of civil society to better understand and address child labor and/or forced labor abuses and promote acceptable conditions of work in a sector and/or supply chain. The project should achieve the following outcomes: (1) Improved capacity of civil society to identify and document accurate, independent, and objective information on the nature and scope of child labor and/or forced labor, and violations of acceptable conditions of work in a sector and/or supply chain; (2) Improved capacity of civil society to raise awareness for the protection of workers from child labor and/or forced labor abuses, and violations of acceptable conditions of work; and (3) Improved capacity of civil society to implement initiatives to address child labor and/or forced labor and violations of acceptable conditions of work, including facilitated access to grievance mechanisms and/or remedy for victims of labor exploitation. The duration of the project will be a maximum of 4 years (48 months) from the effective date of the award.

Applicants for the funds may be students or faculty. The project, program, or entrepreneurial idea must be created by, led by or benefit women. Grants are awarded in values of $2500 to $20,000. While we prefer the base grant to be $5,000, we are considering a limited number of $2500 which will be required to show high impact. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The grants must be submitted online via the link below and must include a 2-minute video. Applicants will be narrowed to a pool of 10-15 finalists by our M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Grants Committee. This committee will review applications; contact applicants if additional information is required, and present the finalists to the M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Steering Committee and Development Staff. Grant deadline for this year is Feb. 9, 2018. These finalists will perform in a fast-pitch style Hawk Tank event on April 11, 2018. Finalists will be offered fast-pitch training courtesy of the Farmers School of Business - school of Entrepreneurship, and will receive coaching and support. They will then pitch their idea in 5 minutes or less on April 11, 2018 at the event. Giving Circle members are the voters who will determine winners. Absentee voters will be given the option to vote online. Winners will be announced that night or the next day at the Symposium, to be determined.

Purpose of the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) and Background: The AFCP supports the preservation of cultural sites, cultural objects, and forms of traditional cultural expression in more than 100 countries around the world, including Nigeria. The funding advance U.S. foreign policy goals and show American respect for cultural heritage. AFCP-supported projects include the restoration of ancient and historic buildings, assessment and conservation of rare manuscripts and museum collections, preservation and protection of important archaeological sites, and the documentation of vanishing traditional craft techniques and indigenous languages. Cultural heritage endures as a reminder of the contributions and historical experiences of humanity. By taking a leading role in efforts to preserve cultural heritage, the U.S. demonstrates its respect for other cultures. The United States Government, represented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Mission in Malawi, is publishing this Request for Information (RFI) in order to provide US and Malawi-based academia, industry, and other stakeholders the opportunity to review, comment, suggest, and input into the development of two potential USAID/Malawi activities that will involve partnerships between US and Malawian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The two potential activities will focus on: 1) expanding degree opportunities in Malawi; and 2) strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in Higher Education.

Founded in 2001, the Terra Summer Residency brings together doctoral scholars of American art and emerging artists worldwide for a nine-week residential program in Giverny, France.  The program encourages independent work while providing seminars and mentoring by senior scholars and artists to foster reflection and debate. The Terra Summer Residency provides an opportunity for participants to widen their academic and creative horizons, explore international cultural perspectives, and forge lifelong exchanges and professional networks. In addition to a stipend, fellows receive on-site lodging, use of working facilities, and lunches for the duration of the residency. The residency handbook provides more information about the location, facilities, and residency guidelines. The 2020 Terra Summer Residency will run from June 8 to August 7.

The previous AccelNet solicitation (NSF 19-501) issued in 2019 called for international networks of networks addressing scientific grand challenges that require significant international research coordination, either aligned with one of NSF's 10 Big Ideas or community-identified grand challenges. This new solicitation clarifies definitions, budgetary information, and announces broader target areas, as well as changes to submission requirements.

NineSigma, representing the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) ("Client"), seeks technologies and solutions to make effective use of tablet computers designed to aid rice production in Senegal. It is desirable that such a solution is applicable for use even where Internet connection is slow, and does not require technological expertise in information technology.  As it is currently planned, verification testing for this project will be conducted in cooperation with the National Company for the Development and Exploitation of the Senegal River Delta, Senegal River and Faleme Valley (SAED), which is an organization responsible for promoting the development of irrigated farming on the left bank of the Senegal River, and a JICA Technical Cooperation project that provides aid to SAED. If the technology is established following the demonstration, it may potentially be applied nationwide in Senegal, as well as across Africa.

NineSigma, representing the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), seeks technologies, such as weather prediction, that support decision-making by rice farmers in Senegal. It is desirable for the technologies to be available in areas with narrowband Internet connection and to require no specialist knowledge of information and communication technology. The proof-of-concept (POC) experiments of the technologies will be conducted as part of JICA's research project in collaboration with the National Company of Development and Exploitation of Land in the Delta of Senegal River, and Faleme Valleys (SAED), which is an organization promoting the development of irrigation farming on the left bank of the Senegal River valley, and the JICA Technical Cooperation Project, which provides technical support to SAED. Once the technologies are established after the POC, they may be deployed in Senegal, and in the future, expanded throughout Africa.

The Expeditions Council is an editorially driven grant program that supports exploration and adventure worldwide.  Proposed projects must have the potential to yield compelling stories and images. Applications are also judged on the qualifications of applicants and their teams, and on the project's merit, uniqueness and safety protocols. The Council consists of representatives of National Geographic editorial divisions (magazines, television, books, website, and so on) who review and vote on grant applications, as well as an advisory board of external consultants. While the Expeditions Council funds a broad range of exploration and adventure, if a project is based on scientific inquiry, applicants must provide detailed methodology.  In addition, all projects must adhere to applicable scientific or professional ethical standards, which are outlined in the grant application and are subject to scientific review The Expeditions Council offers its grantees the opportunity to work effectively with National Geographic's many divisions. Grantees are therefore able to share the results of their expeditions with National Geographic's global audience.

The Major Research Instrumentation Program (MRI) serves to increase access to shared scientific and engineering instruments for research and research training in our Nation's institutions of higher education, not-for-profit museums, science centers and scientific/engineering research organizations. The program provides organizations with opportunities to acquire major instrumentation that supports the research and research training goals of the organization and that may be used by other researchers regionally or nationally. Each MRI proposal may request support for the acquisition (Track 1) or development (Track 2) of a single research instrument for shared inter- and/or intra-organizational use. Development efforts that leverage the strengths of private sector partners to build instrument development capacity at MRI submission-eligible organizations are encouraged.

Fixed amount awards are generally used when the project scope is specific and if adequate cost, historical, or unit pricing data is available (e.g. the work to be performed can be priced with a reasonable degree of certainty, the grantee can reliably predict costs based on similar types of work, or the grantee can easily obtain bids or quotes). Fixed amount awards must be based upon milestones, which outline a verifiable product, task, deliverable, or goal. Milestones generally include three components: (1) a description of the product, task, deliverable, or goal to be accomplished; (2) a description of how the recipient will document the completion of the product, task, deliverable, or goal (e.g. survey submission, submitting training materials, toolkits or reports); and (3) the cost associated with achieving the milestone. Payments are based on meeting specific requirements and accountability is based on performance and results. This type of award reduces some of the administrative burden and record-keeping requirements.
