"Your payment to Ning was declined - First Notice : My point is it will always decline * Posted by Badan Barman on August 23, 2010 at 1:02am in Plans and Pricing * View Discussions Just one minute before, I received this message. Its frustrating. If not hundred, I request several time to Ning to come forward to make the payment successfully. I open help ticket, I post in forum, (CHARGE MY VISA CARD FOR THE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT, I Need Personal Assistant from Ning to Make the Payment Successfully) I personally wrote to Ning employee through email (Eric Suesz), i post as scrap. Still why you are charging my card after 23 hours of validity. You will absolutely get nothing after 23 hours from my card. Hey Ning can you please let me know exactly at what time of tomorrow you will again charge my card.So that I can enter the details of a fresh card just before you charge the card for payment?"

"In March 2009 Tony Hirst posted a solution for Twitter Powered Subtitles for Conference Audio/Videos on Youtube. A year and a half later, numerous evenings tweaking code, lots of support, advice and promotion from Tony, Brian Kelly and others, and we have come full circle. What began for me as a method to playback real-time tweets with the BBC iPlayer has returned to its origins, Twitter powered subtitles for a conference video on YouTube."

How Can I Organize My RSS Feeds So They're More Manageable? - 0 views

  •
"How Can I Organize My RSS Feeds So They're More Manageable?"  I subscribe to a lot of newsfeeds, which makes me feel like I'm on top of everything on the internet-except now I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the folders and hundreds of feeds and constant flood of posts in my newsreader. I still want access to all the news and information, but what can I do to better organize it so I stay sane?

Free Technology for Teachers: Last Chance to Move Your RSS Subscriptions Out of Google ... - 1 views

"is a great service for reading your favorite RSS feeds on your iPad, Android device, or in your web browser. Feedly will import all of your Google Reader subscriptions for you with just one click. I enjoy using the visual layout of Feedly which I feel enables me to browse through my RSS subscriptions more efficiently than if they were just in a list like in Google Reader. I also find it very easy to share from Feedly to Google+, Evernote, Twitter, and many other services. "

Apple, the biggest loser in the Google-Motorola-Lenovo deal | Mobile - CNET News Shara ... - 0 views

  •
by Shara Tibken - January 30, 2014 11:10 AM PST "Things are about to get tougher for Apple. Google late Wednesday made an unexpected announcement that it's selling Motorola Mobility to Chinese PC giant Lenovo for $2.91 billion, or less than a quarter of what it paid for the handset vendor just a couple of years ago. During the years Google owned it, Motorola lost money and market share, and the relationship caused tension between Google and the other Android vendors, particularly Samsung. It also led those other phone makers to develop their own software and services, rather than push those from Google. That amplified Android's fragmentation in the market. Overall, Google's purchase of Motorola turned out much better for iPhone maker Apple than for Google. That's now going to change. Google, sans Motorola, can go back to focusing on what it does best -- making a really great operating system and apps. It can mend its relationship with Android leader Samsung and the other vendors. And it can concentrate on unifying and streamlining the Android experience, rather than worry about bolstering its own hardware operations. All of those factors mean that Apple may not be able to win over customers as easily as it has in the past. Capstone Project Definition - The Glossary of Education Reform - 1 views

  •
"Also called a capstone experience, senior exhibition, or senior project, among other terms, a capstone project is a multifaceted assignment that serves as a culminating academic and intellectual experience for students, typically during their final year of high school or middle school, or at the end of an academic program or learning-pathway experience. While similar in some ways to a college thesis, capstone projects may take a wide variety of forms, but most are long-term investigative projects that culminate in a final product, presentation, or performance. For example, students may be asked to select a topic, profession, or social problem that interests them, conduct research on the subject, maintain a portfolio of findings or results, create a final product demonstrating their learning acquisition or conclusions (a paper, short film, or multimedia presentation, for example), and give an oral presentation on the project to a panel of teachers, experts, and community members who collectively evaluate its quality."

"Videogames are one of the fastest trending topics in media, education, and technology. Research across fields as disparate as science, literacy, history, visual processing, curriculum, and computer science suggests that videogames aren't just fun - they can actually be good for your mind as well. In this course, we will discuss current research on the kinds of thinking and learning that goes into videogames and gaming culture. We'll investigate the intellectual side of digital gameplay, covering topics that range from perception and attention in Left 4 Dead 2 to the development of historical understanding in Civilization to collaborative learning in massively multiplayer online games like World of Warcraft. Throughout the course, we examine the inherent tensions between contemporary youth culture and traditional education and new developments in games for learning that promise to help bridge that growing divide."

La mia recenzione di questo "helpout sugli helpout": "Ronnie was very patient and gave very clear answers. As to whether people from other countries than Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, U.K., and the U.S. (see https://support.google.com/helpouts/answer/3164468?hl=en&ref_topic=14126 ) would be allowed to offer helpouts in future, he said this is planned. As to the difference between helpouts and hangouts, he explained that though helpouts are using the hangout platform, they are a different service. And when asked if helpout participants can use the live captioning app that can be used in hangouts (see https://hangout-captions.appspot.com/ ), he said no. When I asked why the "Introducing Helpouts by Google" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-VFC9AQM1k video is uncaptioned, and the video embedded in the "Find out what it's like to get a Helpout!" https://helpouts.google.com/111421743141645456280/ls/b41c1faef6b76d0f page is not only uncaptioned, but also uncaptionable via e.g. streaming it to amara.org, because if you try to open it on youtube, you get to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=picasacid , which says: "An error occurred during validation. This video does not exist. Sorry about that." he candidly said he couldn't answer and suggested using the feedback, which I'm doing. Same reply when I asked if Google planned to caption these videos. Sure, I would have preferred to get more hopeful answers to the questions about accessibility, but it was great to get candid ones, which can now be reported to the discussion lists of the Collaborative for Communication Access via Captioning - http://ccacaptioning.org/ . " No, è vero, Ronnie è stato bravissimo.

For Teachers, Wired Classrooms Pose New Management Concerns - Liana Heitin, Edweek.org,... - 2 views

  •
"By Liana Heitin (...) In a growing number of K-12 schools, the use of 1-to-1 computing devices-including iPads, laptops, and Chromebooks-is becoming a central part of instruction. For teachers making the digital leap, one of the greatest hurdles can be figuring out how to manage the tech-infused classroom. How do you keep kids, who suddenly have the Internet at their fingertips, on task? How do you ensure the devices are safe and well-maintained? And how do you compete with your most tech-savvy students? (...)"I think this is the new frontier frankly with classroom management. We've never confronted this," said Kyle Redford, a 5th grade teacher at Marin Country Day School in Corte Madera, Calif. "

K-8 Intro to Computer Science | Code.org - 2 views

  •
"K-8 Intro to Computer Science is a free course that aims to demystify computer science and show K-8 students that it's fun, collaborative, and creative. The course is designed to motivate students and educators to continue learning computer science to improve real world relationships, connections, and life. Educators will foster an environment of communal learning that emphasizes risk-taking. This course will teach students about computer science, computational thinking, and programming. It will also teach that success does not come on the first try, just like the world's most difficult problems aren't solved on the first try. Challenge is good when it is supported by plans and tools that lead to success. This course will help students persevere in solving problems."

Ciao, Fabrizio!

Brief.ly - 0 views

Brief.ly is a simple way to share a "bundle" of links at the same time. Enter up to 30 links and captions you want to share (one per line or click the wrench for more options). Brief.ly will generate a unique URL. When opened, a Table of Contents page lists the sites included. When you open the bundle, each site appears and tabs appear along the top of the page that allow you to easily jump from one recommended site to the next. This site is very easy to use and helpful for all ages, as long as they can read. With your membership, you can edit the contents of your list later, without resending it or changing the single link. tag(s): organizational skills (84) TeachersFirst review

Web Literacy Standard - Mozilla Webmaker - 3 views

"The Web Literacy Standard (specification) The Web Literacy Standard is a map of competencies and skills that Mozilla and our community of stakeholders believe are important to pay attention to when getting better at reading, writing and participating on the web. Keep up to date with the latest changes to the Web Literacy Standard on the wiki."

Bello! Poi dal link in "Translate the Web Literacy Standard into your language. Get involved!

Quick Screen Share - 1 views

"About QuickScreenShare.com: QuickScreenShare.com is the simplest way to share screens with anybody: No registration required and completely free. Nothing to install for sharer or sharee (assuming you have Java). Works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Even lets you remotely control mouse and keyboard! This free service is a side project from the creators of Screencast-O-Matic.com and is still in BETA. We use it extensively for remote user support and collaboration. The current version creates a direct peer-to-peer connection, so if you're on a super duper secure school or company network it may or may not be able to connect, but in most cases you'll find it works quite well so give it a shot!"
