«Hole in the Wall» interessante esperimento di quella che viene definita educazione minimamente invasiva. Esiste anche un libro "Il buco nel muro- come i bambini imparano usando liberamente il computer" dello stesso Mitra ed.Effatà.

Grande, e mi commuove, perché il Buco nel Muro indiano era fra i temi di discussione del primo corso online che ho seguito, nel 2003, "Development and the Internet" del Berkman Center for Internet and Society di Harvard - una specie di proto-MOOC i cui contenuti sono tuttora online: http://h2o.law.harvard.edu/ViewProject.do?projectID=64 . Che bello far conoscere le nostre iniziative come Comitato Genitori/Insegnanti "Per la scuola pubblica"! Abbiamo avuto momenti più gloriosi, diciamocelo, ma anche se un po' più sfilacciati, continuiamo a tener alta la guardia perché, nonostante tutto, si possa salvaguardare quel po' di scuola di qualità che abbiamo con fatica costruito...Ecco perché l' Invalsi, in tutto il suo impianto, non ci convince affatto...

Sì infatti... è un momento di stanca, però è importantissimo riuscire ancora a diffondere queste informazioni!

La difesa incondizionale da parte del Vaticano di un trattato OMPI per i ciechi e altre persone che non possono adoperare testi stampati è particolarmente interessante: in incontri precedenti su questo trattato - sotto il Papa precedente - il Vaticano si era allineato sui paesi ricchi del cosiddetto "Gruppo B" dell'OMPI nel chiedere di seppellire questo trattato.

A un anno dalla scoperta del bosone di Higgs, sentendone riparlare alla radio, mi è tornato in mente questo testo. Fa ridere, ma anche riflettere sulla responsabilità della divulgazione scientifica in Italia. E' possibile, nella scuola, l'insegnamento di un'epistemologia elementare mirata sul valore d'uso? Quel poco che servirebbe ai cittadini per valutare, anche sbagliando ma in modo dignitoso, le questioni scientifiche d'interesse più comune (non è il caso del bosone... lo so), senza farsi condizionare da un'informazione di massa che fa di tutto meno che informare?

Queste "pagine nascoste" del blog about di Amara sono strane: un pezzo di codice per embeddare un player con una trascrizione interattiva, comunicati stampa non datati, fra i quali questo: ora la cosa bizzarra è che è da un anno che Coursera ha smesso di usare Amara, e da 10 mesi che ha cancellato il suo team Amara. Il team di Khan Academy c'è ancora, ma è praticamente deserto.
