Gliffy is an online diagramming software site that is designed to be used directly with the user's browser. This site provides users the ability to produce quality, professionally styled flowcharts, charts, diagrams, floor plans, technical drawings, and much more. Gliffy can be used in various ways when it comes to learning. Gliffy's offer learners and instructors the ability to design and share various types of charts for their assignments, projects, and lessons. I liked Gliffy as apposed to other online chart sites because it has HTML and Flash capabilities as well as the ability to work collaboratively on the diagramming software activities.

Youtube is a site that gives the user the opportunities to post videos about almost anything online. It is a video sharing website where users can upload and share videos. I chose this as a resource because it has a large resource of information that can be used for teaching purposes. Youtube makes posting and searching for videos simply because it is very easy to use.

What it is: YouTube provides millions of free videos on every topic imaginable. However, in addition to finding videos, YouTubes new video editor allows users to create their own videos as well. Why it's better: YouTube provides a user-friendly interface that most are familiar with. Videos, images, sounds, text, and photos can all be combined to create instant videos that provide prior knowledge to students. All videos under 15 minutes are free. Since YouTube is a part of Google, all items are synced with your Google account. While there are many other free video creation tools available, YouTube truly does provide an easier experience.

YouTube offers users the opportunity to compile their work in the form of a video. One feature of YouTube is the capability of adding closed caption. Videos can be used for essential and generative learning because it provides a platform for learners to authentically demonstrate their understanding of the content.

This website offers a guide to help teachers improve their classroom managment through planning, and incorporating technology.

For those of you familiar with the software Inspiration, this is a web version with some of the same options. This is a mind mapping tool that helps you "capture ideas, organize information, collaborate and share your work, and create diagrams.

Webspiration is a teacher friendly site that contains a vast array of graphic organizers, diagrams, writing organizers and many others. This site is typically used in grades 5-12. With many options, students and/or teacher are able to find an organizer that suits their project or essay. This site is easy to use and is effective in assisting students in independently developing their graphic organizer. 

Webspiration offers collaboration and graphic organizer software for classroom or professional use. Webspiration has free subscriptions available as well as subscriptions for purchase. I found it to be easy to use and share.

This is an excellent collaborative brainstorming tool for creating a mind map. This could be excellent for PreTraining or for a graphic organizer. Imagine your class having this open while you present key information, and they create their mind map of your concepts.

Bubbl us is a graphic organizer used to organize ideas. As I viewed the site, I thought I could offer this to my students who might be intimidated by the use of graphic organizers on the web. Using this site might reduce the extraneous process because the goal is to organize thoughts not learn a new tool.

The is online mind mapping software whre participants can create a graphic organizer online. Graphic organizers can be shared with friends or saved as a jpeg.

A great tool to show video demonstrations before professional development. In this video students in London do an interactive activity with students in China using the IWB with audio and video features. The students basically demonstrate the interactive capabilities of the IWB.

This can be used for essential learning. Assignment, Module 3 - Animoto.com is a fast, free, easy-to-use, video production site.  Users can turn their digital photos, video clips, and music into well-orchestrated movie presentations.  It is trendy, fast-paced, and geared toward the young, digital natives that thrive on personally-produced content.  Animoto encourages creative applications of learning.

Animoto is designed to allow its users to upload captions and images in order to create vivid videos set to music. Animoto videos are what I like to consider, "smart videos." They analyze the video, feel the music, and then customize the video, allowing users to share and publish their unique video to any webpage. Animoto videos are a creative and fun way to introduce a topic of study, introduce vocabulary, or to teach a short lesson with. Animoto is free to use after making an account, but unless a membership is purchased with Animoto, the videos that you make will be no longer than 30 seconds in length. I have used it with my presentations, after purchasing a membership, and participants of the presentation were engaged and excited about what they saw and learned. It makes learning more interesting. Animoto is better than most other video production sites as it offers its users a variety of professionally looking templates to add your photos, text, and audio to, whereas other sites are limited on their templates to basic features.

Resources include: Tech Tools, Tech & Learning, and Internet such as ThinkQuest and online projects. Inquiry-based learning focus for student-centered, active learning approach focusing on questioning, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

In collaboration with the Georgia Department of Education, the Georgia Public Broadcasting station developed training modules for educators in developing a Teacher-as-Advisor program.
