This site is a great tool for uploading and sharing videos. Youtube is industry standard for video sharing. It is reliable, offers multiple formats uploads and offers privacy. I would recommend that teachers use this site to upload final dance video projects or use Just Dance videos on the site to have student analyze other dancers. I would not recommend comments unless the user approved them first.

This is a virtual world where students can interact using avatars. Students could create dancing avatars that mimic moves used in class. This would be a very engaging activity for students to participate in. The best part is that students would have to have a good grasp on a dance in order to recreate the moves with an avatar.

Prezi - The Zooming Presentation Editor - 0 views

Prezi is a web based power point presentation with a twist. It is easy to use and FREE. I would encourage my workshoppers to use this tool to have students create the steps of learning a dance. This would be a great way to present the knowledge that they have acquired by using the Wii Just Dance program. I might also suggest that they use it to have students create and teach their own warm-ups.

This site is a great resource for teachers and students alike. It is a safe and reliable site that provides educational videos that are appropriate for students of all ages. The site is a safe alternative to Youtube but it is not as well known among the student population. I would recommend this site to teachers in my workshop to upload videos of completed dance projects. It is also a great place for students to make comments.

Wikispaces - 3 views

This site allows users to host free wiki that can be public or private. This is a great service for students and teachers. It is easy to use (compared to other wiki sites) and it allows the publisher to have a lot of control of content, editing and privacy. Students could use this to create a large graphic organizer that they could all participate in editing.

Wordle - Beautiful Word Clouds - 5 views

This site is a great graphic organizer for kids. It is visually stimulating and kids like the fact that their creations are original. I would have teachers use Wordle to get kids engaged with dance vocabulary.

Interactive Dance Site - 0 views

This site allows users to interactively dance with other users all over the world. This is a great pre-training exercise for teachers to assess the dance ability of their students. Students will be exposed to a variety of dance moves and styles and the teacher will be able to ascertain ability based on the interactivity. This is currently the only interactive dance site that I am aware of…I am sure that over time more sites will emerge.

This site is a great icebreaker to a new topic. It provides easy to understand basics on any topic that you might teach. I would encourage teachers to use the quiz program to assess what students already know at the start of the lesson.
