    Smarttech.com is the creator of the interactive smart board. This video's goal is to teach individuals how to use any program on the Smart Board. Their tutorial video accomplishes a learner centered environment. The vision of a learner-centered approach to technology design is that "technology should complement human abilities, aid those activities for which we are poorly suited, and enhance and help develop those for which we are ideally suited (Mayer, 2009, p. 13); and this video does just that. The active engagement required of this video is cognitive activity. Humans focus on the meaning of presented material and interpret it in light of their prior knowledge (Mayer, 2009, p. 17).

The active engagement required focuses on cognitive activity because the learner is adding information to one's memory (Mayer, 2009, p. 16).
