Hostinger offers three types of accounts - Windows Mail account, Webmail account, and Live mail account. The first two provide you with email clients but live mail does not; however, it does provide an online interface for managing and sending messages from anywhere. Use Hostinger webmail to customize your inbox experience by adding custom background colors, changing text size and fonts, and adding an animated GIF or signature icon from Google images.

How to fix Web pages that print too small? - 0 views

  •
Most of the times you need to take the print out of the web pages. But, when the printed web pages come out too small then it is really irritating. This is generally due to "Shrink to Fit" option. According to this option, Internet Explorer squeezes all the elements of a web page by default onto a sheet of paper. Thus, go through this tutorial and fix it.

The Clever Sheep: Diigo is more Filling than Delicious - 0 views

  • I suspect that librarians would be eager to share Diigo to students, if for no other reason than to teach the effective annotation of web resources. Educators looking to combat plagiarism might even call for students to share their web research by requiring the tagging, highlighting and annotating of sources with this tool.
  • It remains to be seen whether or not Diigo will make advances on the traction its gained of late, but this beta tool is so feature-rich that many educators are sure to become active 'diigers'.
  • For higher-level thinking and public reflection about web content including the sharing of more complete meta-information - Diigo may well be the ticket!

Online Teaching and Learning: Makin' Whuffie - 0 views

  • A sense of community is created where people have a common goal, such as a project, or can benefit from working together. One of those benefits is social capital, as mentioned above. Another is increased learning.
  • Members of an online community gain social capital by making thoughtful or helpful contributions.
  • Members of an online community gain social capital by making thoughtful or helpful contributions. This can be made tangible by a rating system - some forums have thumbs up or down or voting systems for forum posts.
  • ...5 more annotations...
  • Social capital is a natural and logical consequence/reward of a student's (or anyone's) online behavior and contributions, and as such, it is a powerful tool for educators to include in their online courses to ensure student engagement and retention.
    • Maggie Tsai

Good points. On Group bookmarks we have votes now. Will be adding more meaningful (ie. taken anti-spam into consideration) contribution attributes to reward user participation!
  • A sense of community is created where people have a common goal, such as a project, or can benefit from working together. One of those benefits is social capital, as mentioned above. Another is increased learning.
  • If you want to truly learn something, there is nothing like teaching it, so allowing, in fact encouraging, students to help one another solve problems, to teach each other, increases learning for both the helper and the helped.
  • A group can gain social capital by being proud of what it creates and getting positive feedback from other groups. A chance for students, whether working as individuals or in collaborative groups, to give feedback to each other is a valuable tool for creating a greater sense of community and engagement toward common goals.
  • Bookmarking, Sharing, Highlighting, and Annotating Online Resources:Diigo is a great tool for Educators, because you can form a group, and share bookmarks, which each member can highlight and comment on. Diigo is a fantastic tool for sharing resources and collaborating. Now, they have come out with Diigo for Educators, to make it even better!

Annotate and clip the web with Diigo - Lifehacker - 1 views

  • I have only used 1 product in this genre: Google Notebook. In my experience it integrates tightly with Firefox, has a right click contextual menu option, ability to publicize or privatize multiple notebooks, etc.
    • Maggie Tsai

Dave, compared with Diigo, google notebook lacks tagging - very useful for organizing, finding and sharing inf. It also lacks permanent highligths and sticky notes that Diigo offers. Even Diigo's search toolbar is a lot more powerfull than google toolbar -- it is completely cutomizable and you can literally access any number of your favorite search services with one-click.
  • I use Google Notebook, which is essentially the same thing. It has really helped me and changed the way I browse.
    • Maggie Tsai

Chris, see the sticky note above
  • Sometimes bookmarking something you want to reference later doesn't quite do the trick since the page might change or you just can't remember what it was you found so interesting.
    • Maggie Tsai

Diigo's cached page, permanent highlight and sticky notes, addres exactly your concern
  • ...3 more annotations...
  • Diigo really reminds me of Clipmarks more than Google Notebook.
    • Maggie Tsai

Clipmarks just clips. Diigo clips, highlight, sticky-note, and more
    • Maggie Tsai

Also, a good way of looking at it: a scissor functions quite differently from a pen and a highlighter, right?!
  • "We may use personal information to provide the services youve requested, including services that display customized content and advertising." - Diigo's privacy policy.
    • Maggie Tsai

Steve, As stated in our privacy policy, we do not collect user's browsing history. This sentence here is standard -- personal information here means things like your email address, browser version etc.
  • Opera has a notes option build in. you can simply browse to it (if it's a url) or email it with a click of a button.
    • Maggie Tsai

Diigo really is a lot more powerful, seamlessly integrating Social Bookmarking, Web Highlighter, Sticky-Note & Clippin

Ed-Tech Insider: Diigo: Social Bookmarking and More... - 0 views

  • Diigo: Social Bookmarking and More... By Tim Lauer on January 6, 2006. Discuss it below Diigo is a new social annotation/bookmarking tool. In one respect it is similar to del.icio.us. It even takes advantage of the del.icio.us API so that items that you tag or bookmark with Diigo, are also tagged to your del.icio.us account. Where it is quite different from del.icio.us, is that you can also more fully annotate your bookmarked pages, and bookmarks can also be saved locally. You can highlight and tag specific images and paragraphs from web pages, and also add sticky notes. These sticky notes can be public or private. For example if I tag and add a sticky note to a page, I can also see other sticky notes left by others or I can send a notification to a colleague so that she can read my annotation and respond. I can also use Diigo to save my selections and annotations and review them later. I can also forward them on via email. The Diigo toolbar puts all of these tools at your disposal. The Flash Tutorial gives a very good overview. The more I play with Diigo the more it looks like an interesting alternative/compliment to del.icio.us. Technorati Tags: del.icio.u

Listics - Frank Paynter's Voice and Vision… » Diigo… - 0 views

  • I learned of them when I read about their service in the MIT Technology Review several weeks ago.  It’s by invite only, but I wrote and told them that they had to give me an account because last September I was emailing tech-savvy friends to ask if anyone could design a service exactly like this.  I was willing to pay for this — like flickr or Mars Edit — but diigo is in fact free.  No one took up my offer back in September, but by cosmic coincidence some electronic engineering professor geek at Berkeley was dreaming about the same thing and designed it. What it does is this: you read something on the web, you bookmark it using diigo.com (you do need to install a little diigo bookmarklet on the toolbar).  You assign a tag to it (if you want), or several.  Then, you can literally underline the passages that intrigue you, and — this is the cool bit I’ve been waiting for — you can add a “sticky” note (just like on flickr) that associates with the part you’ve just underlined.  When you look at your bookmarks, the list will show you how many annotations you have in each article you’ve bookmarked, and you can then expand that list to show you both the underlined bits as well as your “notes.”
  • Further, if you are a blogger (which I am no longer, thanks), you can blog your annotated and commented-upon bits directly to your blog.  Or you can badger your friends with your brilliant insights to that last political science article you read by forwarding your diigo-bookmarked articles…  Whatever.
  • diigo looks to be what will finally make project collabration practical - meaning folks will actually use it and not just talk about it.
