Think About What All This Sugar Is Doing to Your Teeth! - 0 views

  •
Most parents think of sugar as just junk food. The fact of the matter is that kids are exposed to sugar in almost everything they eat. 80% of the foods we buy from the store have sugar and usually the bad type like High fructose corn syrup.

A Critical evaluation of salivary testosterone as a... [Steroids. 2014] - PubMed - NCBI - 0 views

  •
Since when did one medium of evaluation become the only standard.  Since serum T has been the historical standard, that is the only window of evaluation??  This study points to higher free Testosterone levels in saliva versus serum. Has anyone ever thought that we are merely looking through different windows of the same process.  Each window here, serum and saliva, are merely giving us different information on hormones.  That doesn't make one right or wrong, it just requires interpretation.  Science is about being objective! Saliva is the best means to evaluate intracellular hormone levels.  These levels should be different than serum.  Why should anyone think that the total levels would correlate with that delivered to a cell.  Think.

Androgen Deprivation Therapy and the Re-em... [Oncol Hematol Rev. 2014] - PubMed - NCBI - 0 views

Sometimes I think medicine has lost its mind.  Or at least, it is not thinking things through.  To give IV estrogen to decrease Testosteorne in men with prostate cancer is devoid of the pathophysiology of prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease in men.  Elevated Estradiol in men increases CRP, IL-1beta, and TNF-alpha to name a few cytokines.  The proported purpose of the IV estrogen is to prevent the cardiovascular complications associated with ADT.  Yet, elevated aromatase activity and low T in men are both shown to be associated with increased CVD in men.

Do Emotions Affect The Structure Of Water? - 0 views

Do Emotions Affect The Structure Of Water? What you think, feel and speak affect your entire body and change the molecular structure of every drop of water in your body. Make sure that your thoughts, feelings and words are loving and supportive. If they are filled with anger, hate, blame and shame it may lead to toxicity.

Effect of Testosterone Replacement Therapy on Cognitive Performance and Depression in M... - 0 views

  • Azad et al [15] used single photon emission computed tomography and showed that, after 3~5 weeks of TRT, cerebral perfusion was increased in the midbrain and the superior frontal gyrus in seven men with hypogonadism
  • After 12~14 weeks, increased perfusion was still observed in the midbrain as well as in the midcingulate gyrus
  • TDS patients who received TRT showed significant improvement in cognitive function only if mild cognitive impairment was present at baseline
  • ...4 more annotations...
  • Cherrier et al [17] evaluated a sample of 32 subjects, which included 17 men with mild cognitive impairment and 15 with Alzheimer's disease. At the 6-week follow-up, patients who received TRT showed significantly better scores regarding spatial memory, constructional abilities, and verbal memory compared to those noted in the placebo group. Taken together, these results suggest that TRT has a beneficial effect on cognitive function
  • TRT improved mood and well-being, and reduced fatigue and irritability in hypogonadal men
  • The study by Pope et al [20] involved men with depression refractory to standard anti-depressants, and found that TRT lowered the Hamilton Depression score,
  • depression tends to increase as testosterone levels decrease [21], it is highly likely that TRT improved symptoms of depression by increasing testosterone levels.

Blood Pressure Effects of Vitamin C | Hypertension - 0 views

  •
review article of studies on vitamin C and blood pressure finds mixed results.  I think it all comes down to dosing.  The authors highlight 2 studies to make their point. One find a significant reduction and another found a slight increase.  The dosing of the vitamin C was only 500 mg/day.  A woefully inadequate therapeutic dosing of vitamin C, especially when dealing with the significant deficiencies that can be found in disease states.

A glyphosate-based herbicide induces necros... [Toxicol In Vitro. 2011] - PubMed - NCBI - 0 views

  •
low exposure to glyphosate-based herbicide (round up) decreases Testosterone production by 35%.   This occurs at very low exposure levels of 1 ppm.  In a rat study, large doses causes ACUTE rat TESTICULAR TOXICITY. I think both men and women should be very careful around this chemical

Missing clinical trial data | BMJ - 0 views

There are alot of problems with evidence-based medicine.  Don't for one minute think that a "study" can be without major flaws and biases.  In fact, alot  of the studies reported by the press are based on poorly designed and manipulated studies.  Probably 50% of the studies that I read I disgard after evaluating the study design and statistics.

Autism and Clostridium Tetani - 0 views

Dysbiosis is commonly found in children with ASD. Antibiotics disrupt the normal gut microbiota resulting in dysbiosis. This imbalance in gut bacteria is now known to cause systemic inflammatory states such as metabolic endotoxemia. There is no reason to think a similar link may be present between Gut inflammation and ASD

Validation of salivary testosterone as a screening test for male hypogonadism - 0 views

  •
This study reviewed two studies and both validated salivary testosterone as a method of testing. The statistical significance was very high. Additionally, they found a 47% decline in testosterone over the study lifespan of a man. So, again, what is the opposition to saliva testing? The only thing I can think of is resistance to change and/or lack of education. As a scientist, neither is acceptable.

Regulation of 11beta-HSD genes in human adipose tis... [Obes Res. 2004] - PubMed - NCBI - 0 views

  •
adipocytes increase genetic expression of 11beta-HSD. This increases local cortisol production from cortisone.  This plays a pivotal role in obesity.  Question:  would this play a role in peripheral hypothyroid?  I think so.
