Resource for UF Masters in Music Education. I love this resource primarily for the fun and interactive nature that the games provide to my classroom. There are plenty of resources such as lessons, pre-made assessment, and videos. However, the games allow students to enjoy learning through assessment and interactive scenarios.

This website is a great resource for beginning to integrate technology into your classroom. There are ready-made lesson plans, as well as fun activities to do with your students. There are worksheets on theory, lessons on piano, and so much more.

Amazing resource for lesson plans, worksheets, and games to teach students about a wide variety of music topics. This website would be great for creating lesson plans for subs and would also be a great resource if you can't find printed worksheets that address theory. The games are also fun and educational, asking students to identify instruments, tempos, etc. and can act as quizzes that can be scored and printed out. Great resource!

Music Tech Teacher is an open resource offered by Karen Garrett as an extension of her own music classes she had previously been teaching. Ms. Garrett offers free lessons, worksheets and assessments that can be downloaded as .pdfs and used by any teachers looking for materials that could be used within their own classrooms. Ms. Garrett's resources also have a strong focus on teachers looking to specifically make use of technology in their classes.

This site is stocked full of useful features for students in the form of games, quizzes, and a great flash keyboard with music to match. Using the number keys, students can practice even if they don't have a piano keyboard. There are also lessons and resources for teachers, too.

This website is suitable for teachers who give students free time to work on music games. Many different music topics are taught by the music teachers and a better way for students to retain the information would include turning some of their assignments into competition. One thing i have learned, elementary students love to be competitive, so if the students are able to get high scores on music games, then they are retaining and getting the information.

The creator of this site, Karen Garrett, has compiled different games and quizzes to make her music class more interactive. Students can access games about different instruments, note naming, rhythm, and even composers. There are also theory quizzes and worksheets that anyone can access.

Kahoot.com is a user-friendly free website for all educators to use in the classroom. It is fun way to interact and assess the student knowledge of content. Kahoot quizzes can be created by a user, and quizzes can be shared other users. The quizzes can be formatted differently to keep the game fun and exciting such as, which student gets the most right, or who is the first to answer. The website is free, but with an upgrade and small annual payment, there are a few more benefits to the site.

Great source for a wide range of quizzes. There are a lot of options ranging from learning different instruments, note identification, rhythm practice, musician quizzes and more. There are lots of fun games that kids really enjoy.

This website is a valuable tool to help students enhance their music reading skills. It provides a series of exercises and lessons from basic theory to advanced theory and aural skills.

Quia enables educators to create quizzes quickly and effectively. The website walks you through the quiz-making process, and it is easy to use. Questions can take the form of true/false, multiple choice, multiple answers, short answer responses, essay, and several others. In addition, multimedia capabilities are available to enhance quiz questions. Teachers can add a music clip or an image to illustrate or become the focal point of a question. Questions can be randomized for multiple variations of quizzes, and feedback can be left for students for each question.

MusicTheory.net is a great website to teach theory to students. It has lessons on a variety of topics, interactive exercises to support the theory topics, and tools that could be used in conjunction with other activities in the classroom. There are also apps available for devices. The best part is that the exercises can be customized (scroll down to the bottom of the exercise or tools pages) with a permanent link so that students can take quizzes or have additional practice for specifics without having to change the settings for themselves. For example, note identification can be customized to the clef and range of a specific instrument and sent to those students for practice or quizzes.

Kahoot! is an online/cloud-based program that allows users to create multiple-choice quizzes that are played on electronic devices (cell phones, iPads, etc.).

Kahoot is an awesome website where you can create quizzes for your students. You can also access kahoot quizzes made by others. Students can login from their device and play the game/quiz in your classroom. They can also login at home for practice/homework.

This is a great site for making games for students. The games can be of anything you want. I have used it to reinforce rhythms, theory, and notation. It can be used for so much more.

This application can be used to create quizzes for students to participate in. I use kahoot for students to plug in answers for review games in my music history classes. I also use it as an anonymous ways to get polls done by the band.

This website provides many flash card music theory quizzes that can be projected on a white board. It has topics ranging all the way from note identification to inverted chords with roman numerals.

Site offers educational rap music videos that cover a variety of subjects including math, science, history, and current events. Also provides interactive and online lesson plans, quizzes, and activities related to each video. Requires small subscription fee (~$1/month) but well worth it. Great way to use music for cross-curricular teaching.

Music Delta comes with an ever growing collection of courses. Whether you want to learn about the music of Mozart or the different styles of jazz, there is courses for you. The courses contain articles, interactive applications, music examples and quizzes from the large content that is Music Delta. The students can take the courses the teacher has pinned to the class course list. The teacher can track the student's progress and score.

On this site, students can gain further understanding in a variety of musical topics, some that they may be learning in school. Most of the activities are game-oriented, so this is a fun outlet for kids to explore outside of the music classroom. Students can learn about the instruments of the orchestra, famous musicians and soloists, and popular composers. One thing to note is that the descriptions are rather text-heavy. Therefore, this site would be appropriate for an older elementary student or middle schooler as far as reading readiness is concerned.

This website has fun games to use to enhance music learning. I would use it for complementary only.

This website is a very interactive source for children designed by the New York Philharmonic to educate them and pique their interests about classical music. Features include games, facts about composers/instruments, tests/quizzes, etc. Children visiting this website are also able to watch archived concert performances.

A great website for step-by-step theory instruction, exercises, and quizzes. This website would be great to offering out-of-class instruction or assistance to students who may need extra help. The instruction is organized by concepts (ex. key signatures, chords, etc) and gives helpful tips and tricks to understand the concept being taught.

This site includes several music lessons followed by games and quizzes for practice. There are other resources available on the site for teachers, parents, and students. The site includes a blog and a contact page.

Great website for puzzles, quizzes, composition activities, instrument families and a great introduction to the NY Philharmonic.  This would be excellent to use before attending a NY Philharmonic concert. 

This is a great website for students to review concepts learned in class. "Instrument Frenzy" is a high speed game that can be used to review instruments and categorize them by family. 

A great website for students to learn about the instruments, and people of the orchestra. They also learn about composers and compositions, and are able to make their own instrument, mingles, and minuets. A great website to use for elementary students who are learning about the orchestra.

Kahoot is a platform that creates interactive quizzes for students to use with a smartphone and digital whiteboard. This app allows users to design quiz content and use it to 'gamify' their classroom.
