Music Theory on 8notes.com - 0 views

  •
There are interactive lessons that would be great for centers work or to engage students in learning more about a specific music theory concept. It could be useful if students are working in with a music notation software, for instance, and forget a concept.

  •
I've used this site with students playing boomwhackers along with the animation. It's very easy for children to use and provides a great tool for visually representing sound and fractions (both in relation to the tube length and also the beats in the measures).

The graphics on this website are amazing- any child would enjoy browsing through and learning about musical instruments, composition, and composers. Also very neat is the game where you can "play" different musical instruments. The numbers on the computer keypad become notes in a scale!

This website has resources to accompany their texts, but they are certainly useful even if you don't have their text. K-8 listening maps are great and easy to download. There are also detailed histories of different instruments.
