    Why Relevant and Summary: This is relevant to our topic about successful aging. This article goes in depth about many healthy ways in which one can age successfully and healthy. A few of these examples about aging healthy and successfully were to lower the cholesterol intake as well as abstaining from drinking and smoking.
    How this influenced my thinking: This influenced my thinking in the sense that it only reinforced what I already knew concerning smoking being a negative predictor of not aging successfully.

    How this influenced my thinking: This influenced my thinking in the sense that I see just how hard it can be to find good living options for some elderly people. According to this article many nursing homes can be very costly and some insurances will only offer little help, which In turn leaves many people wondering how they will afford care.

    Why Relevant and Summary: This is relevant to our class topic about the physical changes that women go through at age 50. This article focuses particularly on health risk factors for women who are within this age group. This article goes in depth about research that has shown heart disease being the leading killer of men and women, but for some reason that they have not been aware of, women are less likely to survive a heart attack, or hear surgery than men are.
    How this influenced my thinking: This has influenced my thinking in the sense that I now know how many different diseases can affect women at age 50. There are many things that women can do to reduce their chances of diseases in general by starting to live a healthier lifestyle.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is something that can affect the fetus if the mother is drinking alcohol and not taking care of herself during pregnancy. This article provides a few examples and shows studies done on various infants to see the side effects of FAS.
    How this influenced my Thinking: This influenced my thinking in the sense that it made me see exactly every way the fetus is affected by alcohol consumption during pregnancy. It also reinforced what I already knew about FAS and how dangerous this can be for the fetus.
