It gives several examples on how to make your child grateful for everything and in the process it also helps children to be more social and overcome shyness. How this influenced my thinking: This article was very helpful. I was aware of all of the examples but it definitely made me put in action the examples whenever I have a toddler, because I definitely want them to be well educated and respectful. Title:Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Author: KidsHealth Date Published:1995 Why Relevant and Summary: This is an in depth article about OCD, it's possible causes, relative behaviors of a child with OCD, signs and symptoms, diagnosing and treatment. How This Influenced My Thinking: I have a child with this disorder and this article was very informative for me as a person who had no background with this disorder. It helped to explain some of the behaviors I was witnessing and help me to make sense of it. Credibility of Source:Very credible as they use a host of different pediatricians and experts in the field to help keep the information as up to date as possible.

Title:Talking about sex and puberty Author:No author Date Published:No date Why Relevant and Summary:It give a clear explanation of puberty in each gender and how to talk about the sensitive issues of sex talk in appropriate ways How This Influenced My Thinking:it makes the difficult talk seem easier and gives great examples of how to approach the topic Credibility of Source:  Although I don't seen an author, it somce from what looks like a credible website.

It explain what to expect the question to be at certain stages and how much information to give and how to present it. how has this influenced my thinking: I have a 7 and a 9 year old and I am very interested to know as much as possible about this topic. I was very surprised to read how the professionals contributing to this article find it a OK to explain to an 8 year old the basic concept of conception. credibility of source: it was published on the "American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry" website.
