how about an option to keep diigolet active so I don't have to invoke it every time I move to a new page?

not only that, (an old idea) an option to keep last-entered tags as default for next page tagged! that would save typing (and my memory) enormously!

    keep tinkering!

while I'm here, how about this quick fix for making the new User Forum easier to search... Automatically add User_Forum as a tag to everyone's posts. Then I can search bookmarks or full-text by searching User_Forum + (whatever I'm interested in).

"suggest tag" feature idea - 165 views

feature suggest tag

ok, here's what I consider a great idea for making tagging simpler... a button in the Add Bookmark window (called, say, "Suggest Tags") that will suggest tags for the page.

The suggestion(s) could be based on what others have previously tagged the same page --the 2-3 most common tags, for example, would appear in the Tags field. If no one has tagged the page, the suggestion could be based on the community's (or just my own) tags for other pages in the same domain, for example.

The reason behind this is that it is sometimes time-consuming or difficult (depending on my state of mind at the time) to tag "well", and wouldn't it be nice to have some editable, suggested tags as a starting point?

These tags wouldn't be perfect, but would be a handy starting point, editable to suit the page or my own idea of what's important about it.

Using the button would of course be up to the user, only if the user wants a suggestion. Maybe I'm not the first to think of this, but then again, maybe i am ;-)

    what do you say?

simultaneous bookmarking password problem - 15 views

I've been using the simultaneous bookmarking feature, and today was asked to re-enter passwords for the sites I'm using (furl, delicious, blinklist). No problem, must be b/c a diigo toolbar update, I thought. But I put in the wrong password (for furl) when prompted. I didn't click 'save password' because i suspected it might be wrong. Now I have the correct one, but it won't ask me again to enter my password!

I've tried unselecting then going back and reselecting furl in the sim-bookmark/preferences window, but it still won't ask me for a password.

It must be trying and failing to login/submit to furl, but it isn't telling me so. Help please!

case-sensitive tags - any chance of it happening? - 383 views

I second the vote for case-sensitivity. Doesn't need to differentiate for searches, but just for personal use, saving them how I type them would be lovely.

this happened to me too, briefly. I got the whole Diigo toolbar but also those two items in a little half-height toolbar above. I closed the window and all seems back to normal now. (I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.4 and XP)

numbered highlights--nice, but better if optional - 16 views

I think I might like the numbered highlights feature that popped up in the latest build of Diigo toolbar. But they are somewhat distracting too. For this and other new features, I'd like to make a plea: optional, optional, optional! In other words, a box in prefs to turn off features like this and/or modify the look of them.
(Specifically, a different color for the #s would help them stand out from the text)

Alternately, a button in the toolbar to toggle them on or off would be handy

I liked the brighter colors. They look like what they are: highlighting!
