  • The first post IVC plasma level following the 15 gram IVC has been shown to be clinically instructive: levels below 100 mg/dL correlate with higher levels of existent oxidative stress, presumably from higher tumor burden, chemo/radiation damage, hidden infection, or other oxidative insult, such as smoking.

    Alpha lipoic acid and vitamin C shown to protect against oxidized LDL.  When discussing the negative effects of LDL, the real risk associated with LDL is whether it is oxidized or not.  Alpha lipoic acid and Vitamin C prevent this and thus protect the vascular endothelium.

    This is the unified paper theory of CVD and vitamin C as published by Pauling and Rath.  Vitamin C deficiency results in a decrease in the integrity and stability of the vascular wall.  Chronic deficiency results in in an increase in and accumulation of Lp(a) which leads to atherosclerotic plaques.

    animal study finds vitamin C improves hypertension via renovascular source and oxidative stress.  The dosage was 150 mg/kg/day.  This would be equivalent to 10,800 grams daily for a 72 human.  But what about a 200 lb male or female?  That would be 13,650 grams of vitamin C daily.
